Sturridge Doubt For Craven Cottage Trip

Daniel Sturridge is an injury doubt ahead of Bolton’s trip to Craven Cottage tomorrow night.

The Chelsea loanee turned an ankle late on in the 2-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday and was duly replaced having opened the scoring for the Trotters.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle gave this update on the situation in this afternoon’s press conference…

“Daniel Sturridge limped off near the end and we will give him until the last minute to see if he is available, and hopefully he is.”

Sturridge was a popular Fantasy signing going into Bolton’s double fixture in the gameweek, with almost 60,000 transferring in the striker. His Fantasy owners will be hopeful that the Sturridge can recover to face Fulham and continue his outstanding form. Sturridge has netted 7 goals in 9 appearances for Bolton.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    If Nani not starting tonight does mean he's fairly nailed on for the weekend, it does go to show that it's really hard to second guess football managers. I was so close to selling him last week because I was so convinced he wouldn't play. I kept looking at the fixture, thinking "but they're playing at home, where he's best" and the other voice was saying "but it doesn't matter, cos he won't play". Amazing how we can all circulate the same thinking until it becomes common understanding. Group-think. Not saying there weren't good reasons to suspect he wouldn't, just saying we never really know.
