A favourable upcoming run of fixtures for Newcastle elevates Yohan Cabaye onto our updated Watchlist.

The summer signing from French champions Lille is starting to find his feet in the more frenetic Premier League and is becoming more integral to Newcastle’s style of play as the games go by. His burgeoning central midfield relationship with Cheik Tiote is beginning to click into place and while the Ivorian offers steel and solidity to the Newcastle centre, Cabaye’s passing ability and willingness to drive forward and take a shot is slowly but surely coming to fruition.

Last Saturday’s performance at Aston Villa is indicative of his growing influence – Cabaye hit the woodwork and had more attempts on goal than any player in Alan Pardew’s side in the 1-1 draw. In terms of creativity, he shone, too; only Juan Mata presented more goal scoring opportunities to his respective team mates in the Gameweek gone by.

Newcastle’s unbeaten start to the campaign and strong defensive displays mean Pardew’s side have conceded just two goals so far- the tightest defence in the top-flight- and Fantasy investment has resultantly been limited to their defence in the main. It’s understandable – with just four goals scored, they have yet to demonstrate a real cutting edge going forward but as Cabaye begins to pull the strings, an upturn in goal returns for the Toon Army faithful can surely be expected.

Joey Barton’s departure to QPR further stands the Frenchman in good stead- with set-piece duties in the bag, Cabaye will provide plenty threat with his impressive delivery.

With four home games in the next six (BLA, wol, TOT, WIG, stk, EVE) he should be afforded plenty opportunity to present himself as a strong mid-price option and coming in at just 6.0, he’s crept under the radar so far, with just 1.4% of Fantasy managers willing to take a punt.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I don't think Given is a good fantasy choice. Great shot stopper but mysterious lack of clean sheets wherever he goes. Anyway I'd prioritise attacking players at the moment the way results are going. Mata it is.

Ruddy and Vorm rotate well. And like retro said it's better to prioritise attacking players. Ruddy is worth it to get Mata in.

4am every night a player can only rise/drop by .1 max a day and when they're over 100% to drop, they're likely to drop... when they're over 100% to rise, they're likely to rise

F the prices I say... gone so crazy this year... a player who hasn't even played minutes is rising ffs

k.. that's it.. doin walcott to mata.. debated all week and here is my argument..
1.I need a captain.. and mata it is!
2.I plan to get rid of walcott next week no matter what he does for mata as i want mata in my team long term
3.my next week's transfer is tied up in walcott to mata.. this way i can save my transfer next week and have two for the international gameweek!!
are my reasons sane enough to do walcott to mata?

Come back out from behind the couch when Walcott runs through on goal and scuffs his shot horribly wide.

Mata is a season keeper and Walcott has a good score about 1 in every 6 games so it's definitely a good move imo.

like B better because it would allow you to have mata and walcott this week and then swap walcott out for a different pricier mid next week. only downside is that you'd have to take a hit. some of it depends on who the rest of your midfield is

by the way your link isnt working 😛

Anyone else feel like their season could rest on RVP over the next few weeks? His fixtures are BOL - tot - SUN - STO, and I've decided I will keep him for those. But having him in my team (along with Rooney) means I can't afford Aguero / Ade / Dzeko / Suarez as my 3rd striker. If RVP fails to spark in to life over those 4 fixtures, and the other strikers keep scoring big points, I will be 100+ points behind in all mini-leagues.

I'm one of those who haven't had Rooney this season. Still, I didn't dare not to have any attacking United player, so I went for Young, and at the same time prioritizing very badly amonst the strikers, much like Mark (Torres, Bent, RvP). The question is: Should I swap Young for Mata now, hoping for help from Chelsea to get me back on my feet in the mini league, or does it maybe seem rather stupid to drop the only United player of mine at the moment, seeing as they surely could score many goals in any game and it would be a shame not to get a piece of that action?

I've got a defensive dilemma. Played my wilcard this week and these are just the defenders i bunged in at the start to form the rest of the team. Selling Price in brackets:

    Vorm (4.1), Krul, (4.5)
    Bosingwa(5.7), Jones(5.6), R.Taylor(4.4), N.Taylor(4), Simpson(4)

Obviously I'm over subscribed with Newcastle and Swansea but question is who of those players goes out for whom?

    With 1.5 in the bank.

    Any ideas really appreciated.
