FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 36 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER
Even after Bromley’s recent defeat, there is still plenty to like about Grant Smith this week. Bromley have been one of the more dependable sides over the wider spell, and there is a strong chance they respond well in the upcoming round. Our experts couldn’t agree on a standout goalkeeper, but Smith was one of the more popular options.
DEFENDERS
There is no getting away from the appeal of Alfie Kilgour. Three of our four experts prioritised the Bristol Rovers defender, and it’s no surprise considering Steve Evans and his side have bagged three clean sheets in their previous five matches.
Now back from injury, Curtis Nelson has quickly re-established himself as a dependable defensive option. His ability to collect points through clearances and overall defensive work gives him a strong floor, which is particularly valuable in a Double Gameweek where steady returns can be just as important as explosive ones.
MIDFIELDERS
In midfield, it is extremely difficult to look past Lewis Wing. His consistency has arguably been unmatched, and that reliability alone makes him one of the safest picks available. He continues to deliver week after week, and that level of output naturally puts him firmly in the captaincy conversation. With that in mind, and the fact that all four of our experts prioritised him, he takes the armband.
Alongside him, Kieran Green offers a strong all-round profile. He provides multiple routes to points, and his recent 17-point haul highlights the upside he carries. With encouraging fixtures ahead, he looks well placed to build on that momentum.
FORWARDS
Among the forward options, Joe Taylor stands out as one of the most appealing picks. He comes into the round in strong form, with three goals in his last four matches, and faces opposition that have not been particularly convincing defensively.
Andy Cook was also very popular among our panel. Whilst Cook hasn’t been as consistent as other strikers, he leads the attack heading into clashes against bottom table sides Harrogate Town and Crawley Town. Off the back of scoring a goal in his previous game, Cook has two very good opportunities to return.
TEAM PICKS
Grimsby Town are difficult to ignore. The fixtures look strong on paper, and there is a genuine opportunity for them to collect maximum points. That naturally increases the appeal of their key assets, but also makes them one of the standout teams to target overall. This is reflected in the fact that all four of our panel members selected them.
There is also plenty to like about Bristol Rovers, who have found form at the right time. With just one defeat in their last eight matches and three consecutive wins, they head into the Gameweek with clear momentum. If that continues, they should once again offer strong potential for returns.
