An astonishing 2,216 fantasy football teams did battle last weekend, in an attempt to qualify for the first round proper of Fantasy Football Scout’s Paddy Power Cup V. With our four previous winners safely installed in next weeks opener, there were only 1,020 places up for grabs…

As expected, the standards were exceptionally high and an automatic qualification score of 62 was set. [Remember, this is after points spent on transfers are deducted.]

A total of 990 fantasy managers made that grade, meaning that the 108 managers stranded on 61 had to rely on their overall rank to fill the remaining 30 spots. The full list of results can be found right here.

Qualifying by the skin of his teeth is 45,465th in the world, woodpecker, who takes the 1,020th and final spot. In contrast, 45,750th in the world, don parcheesi, misses out by the narrowest of margins (a single transfer).

Commiserations to everyone who misses out – a list which includes all but five of the Scout Contributors.

The draw for Round One will be made shortly and will go live on the site at least 24-hours before the gameweek 13 deadline.

Looks good. There's nothing you can do up front so it's a good time to fix that defense.

Why take out moses when he has 7 players upfront he'd want to play this week anyway? I'd rather take out Moses a week where I didn't want to play Sinclair.

You guys are clueless aren't you?

Who for though? If I get Vermaelen then I'll only have 4.5m and nobody really appeals in that price bracket. In fact, nobody appeals for less than 5.5m. Moses will be 3rd choice sub most weeks, and I'll get rid during the wildcard.

maybe to go -4 on moses for .6M cheaper ferguson (anyway moses is third on the bench so doesnt make any difference). and your 4.5 will be 5.1. Enough to get BAE or Shawcross.

If you went for Santos instead of Verm that'd free up 0.7 to upgrade Moses. Pilkington could work for that price.

almost same team here, and also want to get rid of Woodgate but can not really upgrade without doing an extra transfer so i think ill just leave as it is for this gw and hope that woodgate will play. then next week use a 2FT to get Vermalen and Jones/Smalling with -4 for a cheapest midfielder!

    Hello!

I've had an disastrous first third of the season is need some advice for my future team.

    Vorm Krul
    Mertesacker Turner S.Ward Kompany Shawcross
    Formica Mata Ramsey Bale N.Dyer
    Suarez Adebayor Rooney

    Bank:1.7

For an unknown stupid reason i've been avoiding van Persie so far, but is it time to get him in?

I can do Suarez + Mertesacker -> Wilkinson + van Persie (no spare change)

But with uncertainty around Rooney (inj?) and van Persie (rest?) im hesitating.

    Any advices?

    Thanks...

Down grade Formica and upgrade Mata - (he didn't look too sharp yesterday) to Lampard. Get rid of Rooney and get Hernandez. Get some Sunderland coverage by replacing Ramsey

For the regular posters...you all know Jafalad. Just a thumbs up from my side. The guy is going in for a back op first thing tomorrow morning.

His probably having a special "the night before the operation dinner"* Mrs Jafalad prepared for him.

I will take over his Dead Zone shift tomorrow morning.

    * or he could be trying to figure out what to do with Roonpig.

    😕

A proper member of the L5 league then. Send him my best wishes and full understanding, if you have his email. It's usually pretty quick now. Over here they try and get you out of hospital ASAP before you catch some illness. 😀

    Vorm (Begovic)
Kompany - Brown - NTaylor (Simpson - Wilkinson)
VDV - Silva - Ramsey - Dyer (Cabaye)
Van Persie - Aguero - Adebayor

Should I hold on to my transfer this week?

I'd like to replace Begovic with Krul, but will wait til week 15 when NEW's fixtures improve. I'd like to get Jones and/or Enrique into my defence, but Enrique has a bad fixture this week, and I'm worried Jones might be rested this weekend.

The only other transfer I'm considering is Ramsey to Walters.

What do you think of Sturridge Captain?

    Can't see him not starting.
Drogba hasn't done himself too many favours in these two starts, plus he got a knock.
Can't see Anelka starting.. very likely to be Sturridge and Torres.

Only worry is he might not get a full game.

    Thinking of getting vidic in

United have had 3 CS in a row since he has been back + he is a good goal threat some times and is a good differential in my league.

Expensive yes but united seem to be grinding out low scoring wins in the PL so good chance of clean sheets.

With defenders, I find it hard to justify heavy expenses. If United are getting clean sheets with Vidic back, pick one of their cheaper defenders - you'll still be getting the clean sheet points Vidic is helping to provide.

    Heya lads
Really need your help, just wondering whether you think this team needs any proper changes to it.

    Vorm(Ruddy)
    Richards Enrique Naylor (Simpson Brown)
    Bale Walters Silva Nani (Pilkington)
    RVP Klasnic Adebayor

Have 0.7 million in the bank and 2 free transfers. Any comments would be helpful!

I am concerned that Silva might not play the full game and City have a terrible record at anfield. I have silva. bale is a good choice and you are brave to jump off the RvP bandwagon
