Promoting Bobby Zamora as a Fantasy prospect is no easy feat. There is his injury record for a start. Then there’s a lack of confidence, which has blighted him for long stints throughout his career. He is also rumoured to have had a rocky relationship with his manager Martin Jol, who has left him out of the team for weeks at a time already this season. When he is full of confidence and injury free, has the faith of his manager and a string of beautiful fixtures, though, then the rewards can be huge.

Currently all four of those boxes are ticked. Seemingly back in favour with Jol, he looks set to add substantially to this season’s tally of 61, which includes two double-digit Gameweeks. After being left out for five weeks, apart from a six-minute cameo against Manchester United in Gameweek 17, he has played the full 90 minutes in Fulham’s last two games.

Jol is adamant Zamora is well-loved, even referring to him earlier this year as “my main striker.” This is a clear indication he is back in the fold. The Cottagers boss also insists Zamora’s prolonged absence over the festive period was purely down to an Achilles injury and refutes any suggestion of a spat.

Fixture-wise Fulham’s upcoming schedule seems hugely appealing, with the team traveling to QPR and hosting (NEW, WBA, STK) in the next five game weeks. In addition, Zamora also appears to be high on confidence right now; his last couple of gameweeks have seen him notch the winner against Arsenal and hit the woodwork.

It is also worth noting that with a points per game average of 4.4, he sits just 0.1 behind Clint Dempsey. The American is already a staple of many January wildcard teams, despite costing 8.5 compared to Zamora’s price tag of 6.6.

It may well prove to be a rocky ride for those Fantasy managers brave enough to join the 2.6% who have already selected the former Brighton, Spurs and West Ham striker. There’s little doubt his acquisition would be a definite punt, but he may well prove to be that key differential to help Fantasy managers soar up their mini-leagues like the seagull Zamora once was.

Out on a limb here, I'm going to say Gabbidon. It's so much more likely QPR will keep a clean sheet than Gomez getting extra points. Of course with Gomez if he does do something, he could be in for BP whereas Gab probably won't even with a CS. I'd still say keep your Gab open and your Gomez shut 😉

My current team, obviously not a great gameweek ahead:

    Mignolet - (Krul)
    Senderos - Evans J - Assou-Ekotto - (McAuley) - (Simpson)
    Sessegnon - Dempsey - Valencia - Bale - Nani
Aguero - Van Persie - (Fletcher)

Question #1: How to captain? Reluctantly considering Dempsey or Sessegnon...

Question #2: Should I try to fit in Fletcher in the starting XI? If so, who should be moved to the bench?

woow what a team, Really like your offensive thinking! if you should take someone out it would be either Roo or Aguero. Keep RVP untill he gets injured. Torres against Norwich should be a great buy! im expecting 2 maybe 3 goals from him in this match. But Ruddy has kept a clean sheet against better opposition earlier (Liverpool).

If we look at what Roo and Aguero are up against the next match.

Roo: Against Miguel, Mertesacker, Kocielny, and djourou (dont think vermalen will play) and offcourse sezny. He is the only thing that can stop roo from getting 2 or 3 goals. Their defensive line is shit and United will score. Arteta is also injured.. But is Roo still on penalities? offcourse he is! 😉 He's Fergies golden boy! BUT will he miss again??? I can actually see Arse - United being a 2-4 match or 3-4, i think United will win this one, and their will be goals!

Aguero: Against BAE, Walker, Dawson (king/kaboul) and Friedel. Dawson is a bit rusty i think and not fast like Aguero. But I think defensivly they are much better than Arsenal. But City have Silva and Nasri who are experts of picking out players like Aguero or Dzeko (maybe ballo will start since he is back, but i think Dzeko will start this one).

Its a though choice but I would swap Aguero, keep roo and bring inn Torres.. GL

man, i have no idea what to do. This week my player's that are either out or have awful fixtures =
Westwood (Ruddy vs. Chels only option)
    Evans
    Caulker
    McAuley
    Cabaye
    Allen
    Adebeyor

    time to WC?

    was looking at:
    Sorenson (Lindegard)
    Richards Kelly Santon (Evans Caulker)
    Sess Mclean Silva Bale Dempsey
    Rooney RvP (Zamora)
    any good?

I would wait one GW before WC. Its quite a good side compared to some people...its a tough GW with the fixtures so dont expect major scores for a lot of people....unless another 5-3 for Arsenal and Chelsea (I think it was) and 8-2 Arsenal V Utd.

like the idea but am behind the leader in league who has demps (in fact would have identical MF then)

Was thinking Mata as a differentiator, but is he not worth it?

    Krul Mignolet

    Bale Sess Walters Nani Silva

    Aguero Torres Zamora

Doubling up on Fulham defense, and continuing the faith in Nani(dont want valencia)

I don't have either in my team, but if I had to put my money on one of them this week then Demps would shade it (home fixture + easier opposition).

Tough one. I'm tempted to say Mata, but he isn't as much of a poacher as Demps so I think the latter will shade it. I think Valencia will end up on the lowest number of points out of the three come gameweek 26.

United will bring it to Arse! Look at all the injuries in the back the gunners have and Arteta is also out injured..United have their leading Legend Scholes back from retirment and Roo seems to be in good shape (except the penalites) Smalling and Jones are back.. Only thing is Welbeck who is doubtfoul..

Dont know if I should use WC or not. Dont even know who to play! Please give me some advice 🙂

    Vorm / hennessy

    BAE, Enrique, Jones, Simpson, Caulker

Nani, Bale, Donovan, J. Walters, Ramires

    RVP, Ade (ineligble) Sturrigde

I have 0.9 in the bank.

      Vorm

      Nani, Bale, Walters, Ramires
      RVP Sturridge

      + Ade replacement or Jones.

      That's what i'd go with 🙂
