Hitting the airwaves early this week, the ScoutCast makes a return to the fray with preparations for the double fixtures still using up our headspace. Mark and I rinse through the latest permutations of Gameweek 36, almost exhausted by the tactical nuances on offer. It’s almost too much for a Tuesday afternoon.

Of course, the podcast regulars rear their head and I do my upmost to keep my chin up despite the mini-league gap: Mark tries desperately not to gloat and fails as always. You never know – maybe all those eggs he’s put in the basket of Gameweek 36 are destined to be scrambled.

I had a worrying thought last night. I’ve been thinking all along that I can match my rival for GW36, even without a wildcard, as I will have 2 x sun and 2 x swa with strong fixtures (plus tevez). But then I realized that i am thinking in terms of hits. ie Caulker v wolves at home is better than cahill for a 4pt hit. But if I was on a wild card, surely cahill would be a better option? The same all the way through the team. Siggie might be a better option than most DGW players, but then he has two crap fixtures after, so I probably wouldn’t get him in on a wild card.

Now i’m worried that i’ll need well more than my current 18 point lead going into the DGW. Thoughts?

            China Mag says:

            This week

            —————-Mignolet————
            —–Evans–Kompany–Santon
            Walcott–Siggie–Barfa–Valencia
            ——–Tevez–RVP–Dave——-

            Howard, Caulker, Turner, Sess

            Planning for the DGW:
            Walcott/Valencia – Bale
            Kompany – Baines

Will give me only 6 DGW (4pt hit)

After that hit, I will still have a 14 pt lead to play with (if we get equal points this week), so could maybe do 2-3 more hits if necessary

            What do you reckon?

Yeah perhaps, I just think Chelsea are in for now and they have arguably the best DGW of them all. Downside with their players is rotation threat, but I just fancy Mata to start both as long as CHE are still in the hunt for 4th by next week, and if Luiz is out for a while then Cahill should also start both and is a threat at the other end.

Yeah I could get Tevez but I’m in the Aguero camp i think. More nailed on, playing more advanced, getting more shots in, on pens etc. It’s a very, very close call though.

Not sure getting Barfa in GW36 is a great idea – a very tough double (both away against a team battling relegation and a team fighting them for 4th). Baines could be good though.

up to you really. if i go for either ill go for tevez but good luck to you!

the way i see it, newcastle will be battling for 4th as well! and chelsea will be tired/rotated/distracted just look at their schedule ithat I just wrote out. and qpr will be battling just as hard if not harder than wigan will as they are 3pts behind wigan right now. and I think baines shoudl def be better than cahill

    Differentials for this week.

    Me: Kompany, Siggie, Barfa

    Rival: Richards, Bale, McClean

This is presuming he gets in a city forward rooney.

I’m hoping to gain a few points on him in the lead up to next week. Looking good?

    Which route do you prefer?

    (A) – The ‘Conservative, DGW only’ route

    GW36: Turner & Rooney -> Baines & Adebayor

    (B) – The ‘Scared of no MCY attack’ route
    GW35: Rooney -> Aguero
GW36: Kompany, Valencia & Aguero -> Baines, Bale & Adebayor (4 point hit)

Boils down to this match up:

    (A) Bale (qpr), Rooney (EVE) & 4 points
    (B) Walcott (CHE) & Aguero (wol)

    (Bogdan)

Don’t look at hits as a collective (unless you need to make one transfer to afford another)

Assess each hits on its individual merits

          Enrique + 4pts v Baines? BAINES
Sess + 4 pts v Barfa? Not sure. Barfas following fixtures are very tough. If you are going to take a hit for him, do it this week v STK
          Walcott + 4 pts v Bale? BALE

I know that one of these transfers is free, but you get my drift!!

But if i was to consider a villa player, it would be for ireland (or a defender)

For sure, nearly went the defender route last week but they scored 0 anyway. Either a defender or Ireland if I want to take a risk.

bleh, I look at Villa-Sunderland and Villa-Bolton and see a couple of 1-1 games. Don’t rate any of the defenses well enough to keep clean sheets and nobody seems on fire on the offensive end either.

Im like you , have him and it too late to dump him now. Will play him.

In an ideal world i would take him out for another DGW just like i would swap Myachi to Petrov. But we only so many trnsfers so have to go with what we got
