With the rest of the footballing world tuning in to the occasion at the Nou Camp tonight, the Dugout Discussion opens with it’s eyes firmly fixed on the remaining fixture from double Gameweek 35. It’s not glamorous, it’s Aston Villa versus Bolton Wanderers in a relegation scrap. The team news is in…
Villa XI: Given, Hutton, Cuellar, Baker, Lichaj, Albrighton, Herd, Warnock, N’Zogbia, Heskey, Weimann.
Bolton XI: Bogdan, Steinsson, Wheater, Ream, Ricketts, Ryo, Reo-Coker, M Davies, Petrov, Eagles, Ngog.
Gabriel Agbonlahor misses out due to injury for Alex McCleish’s side, whilst David Ngog is recalled in place of Kevin Davies for the struggling visitors.
The Dugout Discussion is open and can be accessed right here, with Champions League chat still permitted.

Ramboros says:
Using WC this week was a bit more difficult than I expected, especially with Ivanovic banned for first game, and Tottenham with no results to show last few games. This is my conclusion at the moment. Finding the right players the keep for GW37 and 38 is also difficult
Cech(Mig)
Terry, Hibbert, Shawcross(Taiwo, Kilgallon)
Pienaar, Siggy, Bale, VdV, Mata
Papiss, Jelavic(RvP)
Bank: 1,2
Keeping RvP for next GW. QPR got an easy home game next GW, while Kilgallon is there only as the cheapest safe option. My main concern is that I don’t have enough cash to switch Cissé out for Agüero or Rooney in one of the next GWs.
April 25 at 9:43 am
Dave Boozle says:
Replace Mig – get a keeper for Gwk 37, I’m not going for Siggy with my WC – only good for this week, and I’d much prefer a DGW who I could also play in 37&38.

Sorry to ask such a tough question guys but the events of GW35 have led to my ML leader actually increasing his lead to 31 points after I’d been making steady progress in catching him.
Which combination do you think will score more points?:
A) GW36 Jelly (-4) (DGW) & Silva, GW37 Rooney & Silva (new), GW38 Rooney & Moses
B) GW36 Rooney (mcy) & Silva, GW37 Rooney & a replacement for Silva – Moses (bla)?, GW38 Rooney & Silva’s replacement + 1FT to make another change – perhaps a cheeky punt on someone with something to play for and a reasonable fixture.
I reckon B will score more but if Rooney is quiet vs. City and Jelly goes mental this week then A is by far the better option.
April 25 at 9:33 am
roscola says:
I think Rooney will go ape at City. He’s a big game player and Utd will be thirsting for revenge after 6-1. I foolishly don’t have him and I’m terrified.

April 25 at 9:37 am
Bad Pen says:
I think if you’re going to bring Jelly in for a hit, you’d have to be considering captaining him to make it truly worth it. It is far from certain that Jelly will have 2 productive games, even with Everton’s recent form. I don’t envy your decision, I have both of them for the sacrifice of no Cisse. I think B is the way forward for you.
April 25 at 9:46 am
thetinkerman says:
I can’t explain how glad I am to here this guys.
I know it’s only a game but I’ve been working hard to catch this guy all season and last week I was only ~15 points off him with a much better looking squad. His Rooney (c) vs my RVP (c) and a punt on Petrov really messed it up for me and I just don’t know whether to stick or twist!
I know it should always be your decision and you shouldn’t let others’ opinions influence you too much, but I guess in hearing people saying that they’re worried about Rooney scoring against City and that Jelly might not actually score that big in GW36 kinda confirms what I thought.

Impressive Tackle says:
Why are the Everton players so much more popular than the Spurs ones? I realise they are in form and have some great budget differentials for the run-in but what are Everton playing for?
Yes form over fixtures has been the theme this year but aren’t we lead to believe this time of the season is all about having that certain “something to play for”. Do Everton have a tangible aim?
April 25 at 9:35 am
Mac says:
To beat Liverpool I think that’s motivation enough.

April 25 at 9:42 am

Yeah, I will have some coverage too I guess but I’m just wondering what their motivation is.
April 25 at 9:36 am
hrunny7 says:
they always do well at the end of season and no they don’t have a tangible aim
April 25 at 9:36 am
Fratboy - Golden Boot - Van Persie 27, Rooney 26, Aguero 22 says:
I believe a mix of both is key purely on the basis that Spurs surely must beat both Blackburn and Bolton. Even if they don’t win Blackburn and Bolton both concede a fair amount of goals so Spurs attacking coverage is a must imo. I have Howard and Jelavic which seems to be ample Everton cover too, they’re playing for fun it seems!
Howard, Jelavic, Bale, VDV and BAE for me.
April 25 at 9:45 am
Impressive Tackle says:
I too believe Spurs cover is just as important as Everton. They’re both great options as they don’t have a cup final and have good fixtures to follow in 37 and 38.
I was just wondering why Everton seems so much more popular and I guess you have offered the best explanation thus far i.e. the pressure is off so they can play without restraint.
April 25 at 9:48 am
Fratboy - Golden Boot - Van Persie 27, Rooney 26, Aguero 22 says:
Exactly.
April 25 at 9:36 am
roscola says:
Finishing higher than Liverpool. Seriously, it means such a lot to them. Also, I could be wrong but isn’t there some outside chance of Europa qualification for them?
April 25 at 9:38 am

Also, you could have said that at the weekend but they came back against Utd. I don’t think you need any more evidence for the amount of effort they put in at this stage of the season

April 25 at 9:47 am

April 25 at 9:47 am

Also Bale & VDV, the two Spurs players people are looking at, are almost £ 10m each – if you want to keep one of Roon, RVP or both you can’t afford Bale and / or VDV.
April 25 at 9:53 am
Pratik-ULTRA SUPER DRAGÕES-Allez Força PORTO AlleZ!!! says:
Of course you can,I have both bale and vdv (for walcott). Plan to get rvp next week for aguero.
April 25 at 9:49 am
thetinkerman says:
I guess noone really planned for Everton coverage and expected their so-so season to fizzle out. Suddenly they’re playing some of the best stuff in the league and a lot of the other DGW teams come with baggage (bad form, other commitments leading to rotation/lack of concentration etc).
I guess they could easily carry on their form and finish their season on a high note. There’s no reason why they would suddenly stop playing so well.
April 25 at 9:34 am
zdawg says:
Not sure to double up Bale with VDV or bring in Pienaar instead
April 25 at 9:34 am

Morning lads,
What do you think of:
Valencia and Collins > HBA and Terry for -8
April 25 at 9:37 am
Fratboy - Golden Boot - Van Persie 27, Rooney 26, Aguero 22 says:
I would. As long as you don’t plan on taking any further hits
April 25 at 9:39 am
Mac says:
-12 for 7 DGWers. I’ll wait and see though if Collins or Kelly are fit I won’t do the Terry move.
April 25 at 9:41 am
Fratboy - Golden Boot - Van Persie 27, Rooney 26, Aguero 22 says:
That’s a big sacrifice but I guess this is almost the final gameweek to really make a lead or close on someone.
April 25 at 9:35 am
hrunny7 says:
What do you think the man city vs man united score will be?
2-1 or maybe 2-2 i think
April 25 at 9:51 am
thetinkerman says:
I think there will be goals but it’s just so hard to call. So many things could influence it, such as an early goal from one team, a late goal from another, one or more players bottling it under pressure.
I’m not even going to try and call it. My brain says draw. My heat says City. My gut says United.
April 25 at 9:36 am
shawry says:
Hi everyone, 1st ever post and would really appreciate a few comments.
I’m chasing 32 points in my money ML and want to know if the transfers I have in mind are worth it:
Team is:
Bodgan (Vorm)
Simpson – Turner – Caulker (Evans – Verm)
HBA – Dempsey – Siggy – Sess (Walcott)
Cisse (c) – Rooney – RvP
With my 1 FT, I am thinking a 16 point hit):
Bogdan to Cech
Caulker to Terry
Walcott to VdV
Sess to Pienaar
RvP to Jellyvic
Any thoughts??
April 25 at 9:39 am
hrunny7 says:
cech could be a good captain choice btw
16 point hit? rvp plays norwich next and they are getting hammered.
April 25 at 9:43 am
RAFAAA says:
16 point hit? there isnt a prayer of that workig out! watch sess outscore pienarr this week and rvp beat all your dgw players next week
April 25 at 10:00 am
Fabreghastly says:
So you are going to bench Rooney or Siggy.
Maybe keep Sess to put on your bench and save 4pts
If you are not looking to save points you could switch Turner for an Everton defender instead.
Is Cech going to score 4pts + over Bogdan? Maybe another 4pts to be saved.
April 25 at 10:02 am
3:00:17 says:
Would do all except
Bogdan (2 games x 2 pts appearance + 1 pt for saves = 6 pts) to Cech (IF CS, then 12 pts less 4 pts for the hit) = incrementally only 2 points difference
Sess to Pienaar – touch and go on this one
April 25 at 10:32 am
shawry says:
Thanks guys, appreciate it!
April 25 at 10:47 am
Riddler says:
Keep Caulker and play Verm; keep RVP; pull the trigger on the other 3 transfers for -8.
Maybe stick the (c) on VdV/Demps/Barfa (assuming your rival will also sitck it on Cisse)?
April 25 at 9:37 am
King Cabbage says:
It’ll be interesting to see when GW37 comes and how many people have DGWs players that were unlucky in GW36 and now look pretty bad for the remaining 2 GWs.
I’d be careful DGW syndrome doesn’t go to your head!
April 25 at 9:40 am
Mac says:
Bonus of Everton and Spurs players really is that they have a DGW followed by two decent fixtures.
April 25 at 9:42 am

I agree – that’s why I have plumped for those teams with my FTs plus any other DGW players that I conveniently already had.
April 25 at 9:40 am

thats why tottenham players look good. i’m keeping 2 arsenal players for 37 38 (rvp verm)

The thing is – Spurs are in awful form.
It puts a dampner on their DGW + 37 + 38 potential.
April 25 at 9:44 am

All it takes is one good win to turn everything around though and against the kind of teams they have left to play, could be a mistake to disregard them.

I’m not going to get much computer access for the rest of the week, so need to get some advice while I can. My current thinking ofr this week is:
———–Howard————
-Terry—-Santon—Caulker
VDV–Bale–Barfa–Siggie
—-Dave–Tevez–RVP—-
kompany, evans, valencia
That would be an 8pt hit and give me 7 DGW players, and leave me set up reasonably well for the run in. I am currently 32 pts clear of my rival, but after hits, and his wildcard, I will go into the weekend 24 pts clear. Should I be looking to make any more hits? I don’t really want to pay RVP away at stoke, but will want him for he Norwich game. Any help appreciated!!

Looks good to me. Maybe RVP to Jelavic? Then Cisse to RVP next week?

That starting Xl looks ideal imo. I’m taking an 8 point hit also. I don’t think you need to go further than that especially as you have a strong side and like you say sets you up for GW37 and 38. I’m playing RVP this week. He will score against that lot.

Although I enjoy reading posts on here and taking sine advice, I never understood why people were buying in miyaichi when petrov was similar price and on pens and free kicks! Ryo has shown nothing fantasy football wise yet people on here insisted buying him and recommending him to people! Hopefully now after his recent game time people can see sense.

Agree. Although I totally disregarded any DGW players this week, while my rival brought in and captained Petrov

Just noticed the 4 DGW points from Weimann. I expected at least a goal from him over 2 decent fixtures.

decisions, decisions, luxurious decisions.
bearing in mind that i currently have Bale and PCisse, should i do:
1) Pienaar
2) Jelly
3) VDV
4) HBA
5) any 3 of the above for a beer gut busting but ultimately triumphant -8 hit

How good is that Ramires becoming? I´m absolutely stunned by the day..it´s a shame they are involved in so many competitions or else I would ship in 3 of the blues…
Who do you think could be a good shout for the DGW at this point(Terry is penciled down)?
