Versus – Cazorla, Kagawa and Hazard

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Paul

With many of the big clubs choosing to splash the cash this summer, there are plenty of highly-priced midfield recruits firmly under the Fantasy radar over the first few Gameweeks. In today’s Members article, we analyse the displays of Santi Cazorla and Shinji Kagawa against Sunderland and Everton respectively, and also run the rule over Eden Hazard’s first couple of league appearances in a Chelsea shirt:

Rather bizarrely, all three players’ last games for their respective clubs saw the trio produce an identical number of successful passes in the final third – a figure superior to any other player in Gameweek 1 and a clear indication as to how important they will prove to be over the season ahead. Looking at their roles within their new clubs, we compare each player’s stats to key individuals within their own teams as well as highlighting how the trio differ from one another in style:

Guys I’m in need of some help if you will. This is my team as it stands, I’m thinking of taking a hit with 2 transfers:

    Cech

    Lescott Cuellar Demel/Hangaland (S Taylor) (Demel/Hangaland)

    Maloney Mata Bale Noble (Taarabt)

    Torres Pog Aguero

Money isn’t really an issue, and my thoughts are – Aguero to anyone! And to make way of a Chelsea player or two for next weeks blanks, Mata to Michu? Michu could do nothing so maybe Mata to McClean? Or have them both in and leave Aguero on the bench?

    Absolute headache! Please help

I’m gonna keep him I think… I’m just hoping hes back after 2 weeks and his price should return to normal.. rather than taking a 4 point hit & losing 0.2 mil

If money isnt an issue (it should be) I would do Aguero to Rooney/RVP and Mata to Pienaar this week and Torres to Tevez next week.

I agree with the possible switch to Roon/RVP. Do you prefer Peinaar over Michu/McClean/Valencia/Hazard/Kagawa etc?

    Gimli son of Gloin says:

    Federici (Sunderland)
Ivanovic (Newcastle) Clynne (Wigan) McCartney (Swansea)
Michu (West Ham) Kagawa (Fulham) Bale (West Brom) Pienaar (Aston Villa)
Pogrebnyak (Sunderland) Tevez (Liverpool) Torres (Newcastle)

Begovic (Arsenal) Nzogbia (Everton) Terry (Newcastle) (Injured) Hangeland (United)
3.0 in the bank. What substitutions to make? What transfers to make?

Fed has made 2 howlers, & grumpiness is growing among Reading fans. Another bad day at Sunderland could lead to a resting.

Seems boring but think your transfer this week should be Terry -> Cuellar/Saylor/Ridgewell. Torres out next week for Rooney or RVP

saw a nice punt on bookies.
everyone is looking at newcastle snatching a draw/away win.

However, I think the WBA TOT game have a higher chance of WBA drawing, and the odds are very good. the same as newcastle drawing with chelsea.
    surely a good bet?

AVB has been abysmal in managing a epl team, I can see WBA snitching a draw easily

Very close call IMO. I went for Kagawa based on per season form, & Valencia’s versatility working against him as he fills in at RB.

    Nice Baps says:

The casuals who probably don’t realise Hazard isn’t playing GW3 are really pushing the price up which is a pain for those who have not got him yet.

The dilemma is do you get him in now and hold or wait until after GW3 when he may be 0.3 more.

I’m wishing I got him Wednesday night, but that just seemed stupid at the time.

+1. Last year I would’ve thrown him in to satisfy that monetary speculation need inside me, but a team worth 108 million or so isn’t as satisfying as a team with more points at the end of May….so I left him out for now!

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”
