Moneyball – Jason Puncheon
Filed under: Members - Posted by: Chris Glover
A successful 2011/12 promotion campaign saw Southampton rack up the goals as Nigel Adkins’ side finished second in the npower Championship. Having found the net 85 times last term, the Saints immediately placed Fantasy managers on alert and on the lookout for new blood for their squads. The most obvious and popular pick was Rickie Lambert who notched 25 goals in the Championship, while Adam Lallana and new arrivals Jay Rodriguez and later Gaston Ramirez have also been touted as potential Fantasy options. Even Morgan Schneiderlin – who had just two goals in almost 150 appearances coming into the season – has received some attention after his goal against Man United in Gameweek three.

The Viper says:
I’m starting both Cuellar & Ridgewell. Should I put Demel or Hangeland first sub? (Also playing Jaask)
September 28 at 3:36 pm
DEMBA BA nd wagon says:
demel
September 28 at 3:37 pm
Rock says:
both are 2 pointers I think mate, so shouldnt matter, maybe Demel first as Hangeland has had no attacking threat for sometime.
September 28 at 3:38 pm
Jackoffasaur says:
Demel, I’d be far more surprised if City didn’t score as opposed to QPR.
September 28 at 3:38 pm
The Viper says:
Cheers all!
September 28 at 3:38 pm
Round and Round says:
Demel. Hangeland’s goal-threat has disappeared from what I’ve seen so far this (and last) season. Had him at the start but got rid on my WC.
September 28 at 3:36 pm
Podge says:
Decided I’m not going to go without a third striker for 2 weeks as Tevez is a bit dodgy too so Berb to Lambert it is. I’m confident he’ll get 4 points more than Maloney over those 2 games and with the international break added in I reckon Berb will fall at least once. Who knows might even keep him if the Tevez rotation thing annoys me enough.
September 28 at 3:38 pm
DEMBA BA nd wagon says:
i would take a -4 to get tevez out, that empty striker spot is a wast.
September 28 at 3:36 pm
Krisbee says:
Anyone else thinking hazard won’t do anything this weekend? Any done a 4 pointer to get rid?
September 28 at 3:36 pm
DEMBA BA nd wagon says:
i think you will regret it.

No, even if he doesn’t he has Norwich at home next week!

Podge says:
Got rid yes he looked a lot less dangerous than Mata and Oscar last week and they are greedier too plus only 1 good fixture on the horizon.
September 28 at 3:39 pm
Optimus says:
their is an 8 point hit thats staring at me that involves hazard out
hughes/hazard/tevez to baines/fellani/aguero…leaves 0.3
September 28 at 3:39 pm
Podge says:
looks to be more than 8 points in that tbh
September 28 at 11:54 pm
DownUnder says:
The first transfer’s free?
September 28 at 3:42 pm
Jackoffasaur says:
Too short sided for me – Tevez will start 1 of the next 2 and then has no International games, so probably 2/3..Hazard has Norwich at home next week. The only one I’d do is Baines but you won’t have enough $$

So didnt sound like Jelavic is nailed on for 90mins, but should play the majority of the match. Moyes is cagey

TBH it would be extremely unlikely for any manager to announce in a press conference the exact number of minutes one of his players would be used for.

(a) Michu
(b) Sterling

sterling
September 28 at 7:15 pm
Derp says:
faving the same problem my self. my logic: having michu for this week in your team when a lot of managers are loosing faith or discarding him could be a decent boost in rankings if michu does score one or two. he is not out of form with a goal in the capital one cup. 2
September 28 at 11:50 pm
DownUnder says:
Bench Michu. The Liverpool fixture’s too good to miss.

I’ve decided to play my wildcard – a bit early but team was starting to falter.
Decided to do Crouch -> Berb (as he’s injured) – anyone else think this is a good move? if not any suggestions for under 6.6M?

berba & tevez for who…?
have 18.8 in the bank and already have defoe up front with hazard/pienaar/santi/hba/guthrie in mid
September 28 at 4:27 pm
LeSagna says:
First need to decide whether getting rid of Tevez is worth a point hit. I’m still on the fence. Though if I go ahead with it I’m thinking a swap to Aguero + 6.5 mil striker… Kone maybe? In your case you can get Aguero and Fletcher, no brainer..
September 28 at 5:14 pm
gledy says:
I hope you still have WC available…
September 28 at 4:43 pm
Burty says:
Should I sell Berbatov and make a quick profit, and get Fletcher or Ba for a 4 point hit? Other two are Tevez and Rvp so need someone nailed on.
September 28 at 4:58 pm
LeSagna says:
For long term yes, Fletcher’s fixtures after this GW aren’t great though. Ba could be pushed out wide if Cisse does get his mojo back

Hey guys,
I make transfers early this week to bring Berbs in for a hit. Should I wc now because I have Cuellar, Morrison and Ridgewell out too?

suarez, aguero Or Baines Captain?. Difficult Choice
September 28 at 11:50 pm

Suarez if you’re hoping he’ll replicate his hat-trick effort (at least I am)

Morning Everyone (or evening elsewhere)!
I’ve made 3 transfers already, Aguero -> Suso -> Suarez (I regret the first transfer now)
That means 8 points as I’ve already used my WC.
But Berbie Doll just decided to have a red exclamation mark when I woke up this morning so I’ve got myself a bit of a dilemma. Should I use Guthrie for him ( and play 3-5-2) or should I make another transfer for another player?
