We have our first kick-off of the weekend and we have a beauty to getting things rolling. Fantasy managers are treated to watching their Man City assets dance around Martin O’Neill’s fortifications for 90 minutes in what could either be a 3-3 thriller to mirror last season’s match, or be an inevitable battle of attrition as City struggle to blow Sunderland’s house down. Either way, we’ll be glued to it and savouring every minute as we stare into the precipice of an international break.

As highlighted in Andy’s overnight Catch-Up article Roberto Mancini has stuck true to his word and made more than a few notable changes to his City outfit from Wednesday’s game playing host to Dortmund.

An entire strike-force switch sees both Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko rested to the bench as Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli start in their place. Micah Richards has finally recovered from injury to start at centre-back alongside Joleon Lescott with captain Vincent Kompany and Matija Nastasic absent from the squad entirely – calf and ankle injuries are to blame respectively. To round out the changes Aleksandr Kolarov, Gareth Barry and James Milner also come in for Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and the injured Javi Garcia.

Martin O’Neill has been a lot calmer on the rotation front by welcoming Carlos Cuellar back from injury and into his starting XI as Sunderland’s only change from last weekend. The teams in full are…

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Richards, Lescott, Kolarov, Milner, Barry, Y. Toure, Silva, Balotelli, Tevez
Man City Subs: Pantilimon, Clichy, K.Toure, Rodwell, Nasri, Aguero, Dzeko

Sunderland XI: Mignolet, Gardner, Cuellar, O’Shea , Rose, Colback, Larsson, Johnson, McClean, Sessegnon, Fletcher.
Sunderland Subs: Campbell, Kilgallon, Vaughan, Meyler, Bramble, Saha, Westwood.

I’ll tell ya. This site. First Mata over Hazard the beginning of the season. Then Holy Trinity. Then Ivanovic will be a rotation risk due the new signee, which prompted many to get rid for Baines. And now Cazorla is playing like Modric but not getting fantasy points and Gervinho is hogging the points. C’mon, Mark. I’m better off figuring it out on my own.

      Then do that.

None of the scouts boast of being experts – their rankings confirm that.

They just bring us a shedload of information. Don’t blame them if you’ve used it incorrectly and chosen the wrong player.

      vballer says:

Dude, understand your frustration, but PATIENCE is the name of the game. Stop chasing last weeks’ points, stop chasing points over value, and lastly make your own decisions based on watching how the players actually perform and how the teams are set up. e.g. it’s obvious fellaini won’t always be playing upfront given everton has 3 pretty good strikers and can utilise at least 2 up front anytime; hazard performed well initially but didn’t do as well as the team changed its style of play, if you didn’t realise.

I know, easy to say on hindsight, but I kept faith with torres hazard and michu for the past 3 weeks and all performed today. sad to say I sold bale right before his crazy runs started, kudos to those who kept faith.

Ten minutes ago you were claiming we’d said to get rid of Hazard in a members article when we said exactly the opposite and you hadn’t even read the article. What’s your motive I wonder?

This on a day where out of 6 picks who have so far played today, 5 of them have scored goals or assists.

We never bill ourselves as experts – we’re enthusiasts and our remit is to offer up information for others to form their own opinions. Having said that, two FPL Champions in three years have been visitors and users of this site and our community is top of the league of leagues again this season. We can’t get everything right but I’m pretty sure we’re helping people. Sorry if you haven’t been one of them.

        Reed_Rothchild says:

I said a claimed member of this site said your Hazard article stated he wasn’t a going to be in the future returns and it was better to get Mata. You clarified otherwise.

I respect your option, but think you jump the gun too often like your Holy Trinity article. Many players wild carded and blew up their teams to get those three players and now Tevez is a rotation risk and Hazard is less involved than Mata. And Rooney will complicate things for RVP going forward. I think your articles should emphasize more longer term planning than the flavor of the month.

I know you have had a hard on for Baines for several years, but when your site stated that Ivanovic was a rotation risk due to their new signing, many got rid of him for Baines, me included. If I had known Iva would have continued to start, I would have kept him as I had in from the beginning before the price rises.

Your site is a plethora of information for th EPL and I appreciate it.

Well, I’ve been a member since the start of the season and think the advice from contributors has been excellent. There is always an element of luck in this game – no one can fully know what will happen – but all opinions are based on stats and knowledge. Unfortunately, the comment sections have many cases of poor judgement – largely from people like you.
