The Gameweek’s events begin with a cracker. White Hart Lane hosts a London derby clash that promises fireworks, as Chelsea roll up to face their former boss, Andre Villas-Boas. Our Dugout Discussion chatroom, covering this and all today’s games, is now open.

With the talent and baggage on show at Spurs, surely this one can’t pass without incident and goals? Certainly owners of Eden Hazard will be banking on a high-scoring affair, though Gareth Bale’s owners have been dealt a huge blow after Spurs confirmed he is out of today’s match; his partner has apparently gone into labour. The team news from the Lane is as follows:

Spurs XI: Friedel; Walker, Caulker, Gallas, Vertonghen; Sandro, Huddlestone; Lennon, Sigurdsson, Dempsey; Defoe

Andre Villas-Boas makes three changes from the side that saw off Villa last time round. Brad Friedel returns in goal as Hugo Lloris drops to the bench, while Tom Huddlestone replaces Moussa Dembele in the double pivot. The Belgian was reported to have sustained a hip knock in Belgium’s win over Scotland but his manager had stated yesterday all his players returned fit and available from international duty. Dembele is not on the bench, though, which suggests he has picked up a problem. Gylfi Sigurdsson replaces Bale in the attacking midfield three.

Chelsea XI:Cech; Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole; Ramires, Mikel, Oscar, Mata, Hazard; Torres

Chelsea make two alterations to their starting XI. Gary Cahill replaces the suspended John Terry in defence, while Frank Lampard drops to the bench, with Ramires taking his place alongside John Obi Mikel.

The early kick-off steers us into seven other matches, with Carrow Road hosting the final encounter as Santi and his Arsenal team-mates pay visit.

  1. Toughts on Mata - IN ASAP or not worth a hit?

Fixtures look very tough, only one good game in next five and that's away game.
Then again united and city leak goals nowadays for fun...

    1. Depends on for whom you are getting in.

    2. Fixtures don't Mata with Juan

    3. well he has scored 2 against spurs away and got a goal and assist at arsenal away

      1. london * 2 tough..

    4. wait after ucl game ...

    5. Mata is a must have for now. Fixtures dont matter

  2. Tevez --> Rooney? (already have RVP)

    1. no overkill IMO

        1. Had both Rooney and RVP. At 72 points this week.

    2. Too expensive to have them both imo and you will have a lot of difficulty on choosing who to give (C) between the two :D

      1. look at my team, not expensive for me Lol

  3. Baps for Man U game?

Hope that flukey Welbeck assist doesn't take baps off RVP.

  4. ESPN talking about Hoolahan "Norwich will welcome the Irish Messi's inclusion" Yet he can't get any game time for Ireland. I'm not saying that he's anyway remotely as good as Messi or anything like that but give the boy a chance for us. Pilkington too.

  5. Would you really be surprised if Hazard/Oscar/(maybe Torres) stole the show next week? Chelsea have such quality midfielders, it's inevitable that the pts are distributed amongst them. Clearly Mata, and Hazard will get the larger share of the pile, but I doubt it will be like today when they take on United next week.

Then again, if you asked me would Mata do this well against Tottenham, I would have definitely said no.

  6. Gibbs and Michu -> Saylor and Mata (-4)

    Yes/no?

    1. Or to Merte and Mata (-4)

    2. i will keep michu, not sure who're other mid-you have to sacrifice >mata??
      yes for staylor IN ,,,,,

  7. How long is Wisdom in the team then? Anyone to come back or it is his shirt for now?
