Moneyball – Pavel Pogrebnyak

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Chris Glover

Spending money on your bench is a tricky proposition: you need to balance the cost of leaving cash on the sidelines every week versus the risk of having insufficient talent to take up the slack when your first team players are injured or suspended. You might be able to squeeze in the odd 6.0 player to ride the bench but you simply can’t afford to have 20.0+ of talent on there, generating zero points each week; trade-offs have to be made.

Stevie G out for sure Bale sounds good or Mata… Demel also looks good but if it were me I would drop Giroud, because Arsenal are playing like goats.

City just too much rotation really, don’t you think?
I have had Tevez since GW1 but now Aguero is fit again I worry every week he will just come on for 5 minutes at the end…..

    I have 2FT and am considering dropping 2 or 3 of :-

    Michu*
    Routledge
    Sahin*
    RVP
    Vermaelen*

    Vermaelen too expensive/bad returns
    RVP expensive….

    Thinking of bringing in poss:-

    Caulker*
    Wilson
    Berbatov
    Holt
    Walters*
    Bale
    Mata*

The asterisks show what I have up on screen right this second for -4…

    Any thoughts?

I was considering a change of Gibbs & Podolski > Baines & Crouch,

but having read this article I’m now thinking of taking a 4pt hit and going for

Gibbs, Gutierrez, Podolski > Huth, Bale and Pavel,
    any thoughts?
