The Weekend Team News

Filed under: Team News - Posted by: Mark

Marouane Fellaini has a “good chance” of making Sunday’s Merseyside derby according to David Moyes. Pepe Reina is back in training following his recent hamstring problem and is expected to return between the sticks for Liverpool. Shinji Kagawa is ruled out for three to four with a twisted knee as Sir Alex Ferguson mulls over his plentiful options up front.

Frank Lampard won’t be turning out for Chelsea on Sunday; he’s been ruled out for a fortnight with a calf injury by Roberto Di Matteo earlier today. Meanwhile, Roberto Mancini hopes to calm the crisis talk with a win over Swansea – he’ll be without both David Silva and Pablo Zabaleta through hamstring injuries but rotation is expected nonetheless.

All this and more has been collected, collated and served in bite-size format, along with our predicted lineups, over in our team news section.

We’ll continue the updates up until the eleventh hour, with tomorrow’s Pre-Match preamble offering the teamsheet views from the press.

As always, keep an eye on our Twitter feed for the very latest.

  1. Tevez and Caz In
    RvP and Michu Out...2 ft..yay/nay?

    1. Why, oh, why would you transfer RvP out?

This is my line to every post that suggests that.

      1. agreed.. for now

      2. To release funds for elsewhere?

And I hate to bust your "Must have RVP or rot forever in FPL oblivion where the weeping ad gnashing of teeth is" bubble, but the tactic seems to have worked out alright for him: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/1191679/history/

        and him:
        http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/1012660/history/

        oh, and him too,
        http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/445835/history/

    2. The only acceptable transfer out for RVP is Rooney, and even then it is risky.

  2. Mary has two children, one called Ronh who has three brothers and two sisters. Mary is very tired having to work two jobs to keep her children. Mary's husband Ronhy decides he wants to have his sons live with him after 10 years at Her Majesties service. Rohny's parents decide they will look after his daughters.
What are the names of Rohn's sons?

    1. Ping Pong?

    2. reed rothchild?

    3. Where's the punchline?

      1. That's your job, didn't you see the question mark?

    4. He doesn't have any sons surely?

    5. you don't mention any dude called Rohn. so ...

  3. Got 4.9 to spend on a defender. Can't decide between Danny Simpson or Geoff Cameron? Already got defenders from Reading, West Ham and Spurs. Advice most welcome!

    1. Wilson! No brainer

  4. 2. Which number should come next in the series?
    1 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 5 - 8 - 13
    A)8
    B)13
    C)21
    D)26
    E)31

      1. Why is it c then?

        1. Ask Fibonacci!

    1. 0+1 = 1
      1+1 = 2
      2+ 1 = 3
      3+2 = 5
      5 + 3= 8
      8 +5 = 13
      13 + 8 =?

  5. Who does everyone think will be the top scoring Def, Mid, Fwd. this week

    Def
    Mid
    Fwd
    .?

    1. Huth
      Nasri
      Podolski

    2. kolarov
      bale
      Ba

    3. Richards
      Bale
      Ba

  6. how do these 2 trannies look for the next 2 weeks

    Tommy V to Vertoghen

    Davies to Wilson

    1 each week

    ?????

  7. Who should I get rid of out of Rangel and Zab?
Man City have good fixtures so if Zab is only out for a week and goes back into the 1st team he may be worth keeping?
    What are your thoughts?

  8. Opinions please

    HBA & Fletch - Ba & Nolan

  9. Begovic
    Taylor Gorkss Baines
    Gervinho Bale Fellaini Hazard
    Aguero (c) Suarez Ba

    Not confident in the slightest.

  10. Demba has scored 4 goals in 3 PL appearances against West Brom. Happy captain :)

    1. WBA look solid , dont think so he will explode.
      Tevez could easily explode.

  11. On WC , looking to get in Tevez for a 2 week punt and then bring in Ba.
Or just bring in Ba and save the transfer ?

    Have no other Citeh cover.

    1. Ba's looking good, fixtures and all.

  12. Help needed.
Should I do Demel>Wilson for a 4pt hit and play 4-4-2 or play Routledge away to mci. My teams is
    Federici(FUL)
    Clichy(SWA) Rafael(che) Jenkinson(QPR)
    Hazard(MUN) Cazorla(QPR) Nolan(wig) Routledge(mci)
    RVP(che) Tevez(SWA)(vc) Ba(WBA)(c)
    Bench is Friedel (sot) Noble(wig) Nelsen(ars) Demel(wig)

  13. Thought it would be nice to end a heated day on a note of unity.

Just occurred to me that we, as a forum, are all in this together. We're all helping each other move up the FPL ranks as one. Just look at how we're rampaging through the league of leagues. Streets ahead. There's at least one regular poster in the top 20 and tons in the top 1000. There is a very real chance the FPL winner will come from this board, like McGurn a few years ago.

    1. And this all comes from our shared knowledge. Every post you make, every question you answer, every team you rate and every postmortem of disaster.

      1. Girlfriends into casuals. OK, maybe that's a bit far.

        Keep it up everyone.

            1. Casuals into top 100kers. Girlfriends into casuals. OK, maybe that's a bit far.

              1. These are all

                1. lifting us and turning nearly men into contenders. Casuals into top 100kers. Girlfriends into casuals. OK, maybe that's a bit far.

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”

Jan Vertonghen outlines what he feels is his best position for Andre Villas-Boas
