The Big Numbers – Gameweek 10

Another unplayable performance from Marouane Fellaini, ably supported by a string of outstanding Everton displays, lights up this weekend’s Big Numbers analysis, while the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Christian Benteke, Nicky Shorey, Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez crash the party. Here’s our choice of the key statistics on show in the Gameweek so far…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    I know it's early and I'm probably going to get some injuries until then, but which upgrade should I do for GW12. I've already used my free trannie for this coming GW so I'm planning ahead:

    I have 1.2m in the bank so:

    A) Fed -> Bego (hey, I'm going to have to do this transfer sometime)
    B) Kaca -> McAnuff/Sterling/Maloney (simply, he's not nailed-on)
    C) Lambert -> Berb/Crouch/Lukaku

    Fellaini and Ba is surely better than Aguero and Kebe.

    But should I do a minus 8 to get there, especially with Ba injury?

    Is it worth doing Pienaar > Fellani for a hit? ( can only just afford him if I do it now...)

    Or is it best to wait till after his subsequent ban? 🙂

        It's a tough one isn't it. I just know that if I do it for a hit now, then it'll be a 0-0 or a 1-1 on Sat and he'll get a booking. Then again, his price could just fly over the next couple of weeks and become unaffordable...

          They might 'need' him for Liverpool but that doesn't magically heal his hamstrings. They are always problematic although I do think he will be fit.
          Ba tweeted that his injury isn't serious, not that he'll be back. Realistically there is no way in telling already but 7 days between the games should do him well.

    Either way, despite some promising stats from Granero, Hoilett and even Taarabt it's tough to get behind anyone from this side until Hughes gets fired.

    Cracking comment from Chris in there, but the main topic for me: Will be Hughes be fired, is it a certain?

        Granero is a playmaker, Michu plays in a more advanced role using his phyiscal attributes. Totally different players. Granero aint going to get 10+ goals in a season, Michu will.

    So I did, Barfa to Fellaini last night, and manage to catch the price rise. I still have a free transfer, and can currently do Hughes to Rafael, with no money left. I assume this will not be the case towards the end of the week.

    So my question is, do it now yes or no? Also, who offers the more value Rafael at 6.1 or Evans at 5.8. I'm leaning towards Rafa due to his getting forward, are we expecting that to continue?

    Thanks guys and morning.

      Would have kept Ben Arfa, for what it's worth.

      Hughes to Rafael is a sound choice for a free, just keep an eye on prices falling/rising and try and do it on Friday if the prices are set to hold until then.

        I know what you mean, but I think that I could get better output for the money. Hence Fellaini, but you're right it could bite me in the ass.

      I'd wait, Wigan away isn't a disaster if you need to play Foster. I would actually look at trying to get someone in for McCarthy tbh, Foster is good value.

      Why do you want to transfer out a goalie who starts every week and plays behind a defence that doesn't let in many goals at home? Seems a waste of a transfer to me.
      Wait for Mata news. If Mata news is positive then keep your transfer so you have two next week, unless you feel the need to upgrade Demel or Clyne now.
      Very nice squad btw.

        Agree with Chelsea shout. Don't want to change my keeper as I think Jussi is in a stronger defensive team. Suarez' incredible form is giving me a headache. Had planned to cover Liverpool with Sterling and then get Ba and Mata in for Newcastle and Chelsea respectively. Also want to pursue Man Utd defensive avenue at some point.

      you shouldnt have wasted a transfer getting Tremmel in when Begovic has such good short term fixtures whilst Vorm is injured. I have the same front line and am concerned about Berba, similar bank position and no real viable alternatives.

      I wouldn't. Haven't checked the link for your rank, but you'll be rising with that team in the coming weeks. Just perhaps have one eye on Michu, but not sure who you would replace him with. With fixtures Walters should be coming to the fore, but Stoke haven't scored in the last two and they have other striking options on the bench, otherwise he could/should be worthy.

      Nice team.

    ive played this game for years but im a little confused, have the rules changed over the past few years regarding the carry over of free transfers?

    ive got 2 FT saved, however this week I will only likely want to use 1, therefore next week will I just have the one FT or will i have 2?

    i seem to remember if you didnt use both your 2 FT you only had 1 the following week. So has this changed or am i being mental?
