The Suspension Tightrope – Quiet

Filed under: Suspensions - Posted by: Anorak

With no red cards shown in the fixtures this week, we’d a sparse looking inbox in terms of suspensions, but never fear – there are still some tidbits to throw your way, as the tightrope continues to creak under a heavy load.

Easing that load on Saturday, and perhaps the highest profile of those newly banned for next weekend, Chris Baird is the first to take our interest. Booked for protesting the injury time penalty award for Arsenal at the Emirates, the Northern Irishman had his pain immediately eased by the outstanding glovework of his goalkeeper but a ban still follows; he’ll be absent for the visit of Sunderland next Sunday, with Mahamadou Diarra the obvious replacement should he regain his fitness.

Also doing their bit to free up space on the sidebar widget were Stoke City’s Dean Whitehead and Sunderland’s Craig Gardner, both falling foul of the referee for the fifth time this season in their respective second halves against QPR and Everton. While Gardner will now accompany Baird in the stands at Craven Cottage, Whitehead will be missing a tricky trip to the Boleyn Ground, as the Potters face an in-form West Ham.

Replacing those three unbalanced folk up on the high wire this week we have a former Galactico in the shape of Esteban Granero, and a man capped by France at every age group level (though with the notable exception of the seniors) in Morgan Schneiderlin. Grabbing Southampton’s goal in a 1-1 draw with Swansea which lifted his side off the foot of the table, Schneiderlin also picked up his fourth yellow for unsporting behaviour. The Saints were replaced at the bottom by the QPR side of ‘El Pirata’ Granero, who picked up his censure in the final throws of their latest defeat.

Finally in our round up, it’s the old timers, with Cheick Tioté completing his three-match ban this week to be available for the Gameweek 12 shakeup; he waved goodbye to teammate Fabricio Coloccini who will sit out his second game of three, and QPR’s Stéphane M’Bia serving the last of his trio of enforced absences.

    question?

fellaini rising again tonight, so as this will be the 0.3 rise since saturday’s deadline, does it mean nomatter how many more will transfer him in until the next deadline, his price will remain 7.6?

    thanks

    • 2 years, 10 days ago
    1. Yeh it will start rising again on Saturday

    2. Yes.

Annoying that I only get 2 weeks of points with him before everyone else follows. Sometimes steady points are better at keeping the secret.

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
      1. Secret? He was already at 30% ownership

  4. Am I nuts for even contemplating Nelsen over Sagna this week?

    • 2 years, 10 days ago
    1. No, I'd play Nelsen over him.

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
    2. Not at all.... chance of attacking points for Sagna though

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
    3. Arsenal vs Spurs games are full of goals so Sagna won't be having a cleanie.

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
    4. Cheers guys, Nelsen it is then.

      • 2 years, 10 days ago

    ....Rvp Berba Suarez
Waste of WC or just wait and do a few 4 pt hits

    • 2 years, 10 days ago
    1. Don't do it. You have a few minor issues.

Personally think you need to get Cole and Barfa out first. How about Cameron/Shawcross and Walcott?
If Suarez is a must for you it may be an idea to downgrade Sterling to Neville/Schneiderlin or any othe 4.4m mid that is a regular

Either can easily be done over the next few weeks.

  10. I could be completely insane, but I think this idea has legs:

    RVP > Hernandez

Think of all that free cash!

    • 2 years, 10 days ago
    1. the kun / jenkinson trade looks best .... or just jenkinson

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
    2. Just get rid of jenkinson

You don't need to do anything else. Looking good for this weekend

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
    3. Kun is travelling to the moon to play a friendly, personally I would get him out for either Suarez or Tevez! I dropped Bale yesterday for Silva as I need a differential in my mini league, lets hope it does not haunt me!

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
  13. To all those currently transferring Santi out you will be kicking yourselves come 2.30 Saturday when he comes in with a goal. assist and BAPS . Big raspberryxxxxxx

    • 2 years, 10 days ago
    1. I prefer my 6.0 mid Nollan instead of him. Better goal threat anyway and currently WHam above Arsenal on the table

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
  14. Anybody watching Federer Gjokovic?

    • 2 years, 10 days ago
  15. So - unlimited cash, which 3 strikers?

Struggling to see beyond RVP, Suarez and Berbatov for the time being?

Tevez & Kun seem too hit and miss, Rooney and Torres off form, Arsenal too inconsistent.

    • 2 years, 10 days ago
    1. Yep.

I'd have those 3 with unlimited funds.

      • 2 years, 10 days ago
  16. Rate my team please

    Jaaskeleinen (Begovic)
    Reid, Baines, Kolarov (McAuley, Barnett)
    Fellaini, Mata, Sterling, Nolan (Pienaar)
    RVP, Berbatov, Suarez

    Got 0.8 in the bank
