The Weekend Team News

Today’s big news is that Michu has been ruled out of Swansea’s trip to Fulham tomorrow after picking up an ankle injury at Reading on Boxing Day. Michael Laudrup remains uncertain whether his top goalscorer will be ready to face Villa on New Year’s Day, stating he may be available “with a little luck”.

Luis Suarez has been passed fit to turn out for Liverpool’s trip to QPR as both sides look to bounce back from Boxing Day defeats, while Harry Redknapp is hopeful Ryan Nelsen can shake off a virus in time for Sunday’s game. Carlos Tevez failed to train due to illness yesterday but “should” be fit, according to City assistant boss David Platt. Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri are both back, though Mario Balotelli is likely to miss out with illness once again.

Over at United, Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to have Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck available after they missed out against Newcastle. Phil Jones will be assessed, while Shinji Kagawa could make the bench, according to his manager, who also ruled Wayne Rooney out “for at least another two games”. Jonas Olsson, Youssouf Mulumbu and Goran Popov are all “major doubts” for West Brom ahead of their Old Trafford visit, though.

The injuries mount up for Paul Lambert as Villa prepare for the visit of Wigan. Andreas Weimann and Nathan Baker have been ruled out for the midlands outfit as they look to bounce back from a couple of recent hammerings.

We’ve collected all this in our team news section and added our current predicted lineups ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. You can keep in touch with the very latest via our twitter feed as always.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Got Michu a couple of weeks ago so not lost a lot of value, Rafael however....just did these transfers:

    Michu>Cazorla
    Rafael>Gibbs

    Begovic
    Baines Gibbs Cuellar
    Bale Silva Cazorla Sterling
    Suarez RVP(c) Benteke

Thoughts? I think it looks pretty sweet 🙂

Van Persie on four yellows. Resting him at home to a illness-stricken Baggies team would seem like a good way of avoiding that fifth yellow before the New Year (when it goes up to ten yellows).

    Just sayin'.

Right, and save him for Wigan. Possible, I guess. Rest him on pupose to avoid a one game enforced rest, or play him and maybe have for both games without Rooney.

Those planning for the DGW, which players are you thinking are essential? I'm planning on getting a couple in to go all out with 6, thinking Jussi, Mert, Noble, J O'B, Walcott, Podolski. Would love Gibbs, but he'll have to wait til WC.

Really undecided about Tevez. Walcott seems to be a must. Can see City bouncing back though so worried Yaya could bring home points too.

    Begovic
    Enrique Huth Sagna
    Cazorla Sterling Mata Puncheon
    RVP(C) Tevez Berbatov(V)

    Federici Clyne Davies Michu

0.1 in the bank, 1 FT.

Would like to get rid of Tevez and maybe get Bale...What would you do?

    A) Tevez -> Benteke/Hernandez, Michu -> Bale (-4)
    B) Tevez -> Ba/Defoe, Michu -> Walcott (-4)
    C) Tevez -> Ba/Defoe
    D) Save transfer and play Tevez

I have similar issue with Tevez. Im really unsure what to do with him. He destroyed it in same fixture last year.

      I'd do Tevez to Chicharito/Defoe
And Michu to Bale provided that you didn't buy Michu for really cheap, he's prob only out for this GW!

If you paid under 8.0 for Michu keep him and just take out Tevez.

I paid 7.8 but don`t think it`s a problem, will get him back when I play my WC. Chicharito could be a very nice differential this week.

    Federici
    Mertesacker Zabaleta Hughes
    Nolan Sessegnon Mata Noble
    RVP (c) Suarez Berbatov (V)
Subs: Mignolet, Shorey, B. Jones, Michu

Currently my plan is to save my transfer for next week.
Next week, Fellaini in for Sessegnon and Jaaskelainen in for Mignolet.
Will start bringing in the Arsenal players in the 2 GW's after that for the Double.

Waiting a week to bring in Jaask in case of any drama forcing me into an extra transfer, he isn't a much better choice than Federici this week is he?

    What would you do?

If he only misses 1 GW, I rate 0.1 maybe 0.2 max.
      If he misses 2 GW's, I rate 0.3 or 0.4.

And I'd prob take Puncheon for his price out of the 3, but if you can afford Sess then I'd go for Nolan!

Please check my question 2 up from yours! =)

    Routledge (ful) or sterling (qpr)?

Cup opponent has Routledge so tempted to go with him in case he goes wild and rely on my big hitters to outscore my opponent.

Hi guys, please rate my team and advise on possible transfer dilemma.

    Begovic

    Cuellar Enrique Nastasic

    Michu Mata Bale Yaya

    Tevez Berbatov RVP (C)

    Subs: Tremmel, Sterling, Nelsen, Clyne

I have 0 money available and 1 FT. Thinking of taking a point hit and doing either:

    A. Enrique & Yaya > Sagna & Walcott
    B. Tevez & Yaya > Defoe & Walcott
    C. Save My Transfer.
