Double Gameweek 22 Confirmed

Chelsea’s 5-1 hammering of Southampton at St Mary’s earlier today ensured Fantasy managers now have a double Gameweek 22 on our agendas. The win, which saw Demba Ba score twice on his Blues debut, now gives up back-to-back doubles to plan for, with winter wildcards likely to be wielded in substantial numbers ahead of next weekend’s deadline.

Chelsea face a tricky trip to Stoke on Saturday January 12, while Southampton are also on their travels – Nigel Adkins’ side make their way to Villa Park before rolling up to Stamford Bridge the following Wednesday evening.

Bearing in mind Arsenal and West Ham both have a double the following week, there’s plenty to consider as we reassess our squads in light of today’s results. We’ll be rolling out “Scouting the Doubles” articles on Chelsea and Southampton over the next few days, with similar pieces on the Gunners and Hammers the following week.

As a result of today’s news, we shall reset the Captain Poll, affording you the opportunity to select your likely armband contenders, with Ba, Juan Mata and Eden Hazard all likely to receive significant investment, given the ease with which Rafa Benitez’s side eased past the Saints. We shall also readjust the Season Ticker to reflect the change in fixture schedule – for now, though, this is just a heads-up post in the off chance you somehow missed this afternoon’s turn of events.

    DGW22:
    Turnbull
    Shorey Shaw Demel
    Fellaini Mata Bale Walcott
    Lambert Ba RVP
    (Jaas, Guthrie, Nelsen, Davies)

    DGW23:
    Ba > Suarez
    Bale > Arteta

    Jaas
    Demel Davies Shaw
    Fellaini Walcott (c) Arteta Mata
    RVP Suarez Lambert
    (Turn, Guthrie, Nelsen, Shorey)

then: Lambert > Pog, Arteta > Bale (and Turn > Fed asap)

The game really needed this shake up. All teams were becoming the same.

Gonna see some big movers up & down in the next couple weeks.....

Ok people here it is the DGW WC team to rule them all:

    Turnbull . Begovic
    Luiz . Clyne . Demel . O'Brien . Wisdom
    Puncheon . Mata . Michu . Fellaini . Bale
    RVP . Suarez . Giroud

For the next GW I will then swap Puncheon for Cole and Mata to Walcott.

    How does that look?

You're doubling up on WH defenders? Why?! And I really don't think you need a SOU defender, DGW or not.

Original plan was to WC after the Arsenal-WestHam DGW.

Would you WC now, get a good team for the DGWs and perhaps the next 5-6GWs before using my other WC for the rest of the season?

Unless I have a drastic change of heart I think I'm going no Chelsea cover.
Think QPR were lucky the other day. They should have been stuffed and had Benitez started Mata and Hazard they would have won.

Please read because I've spent a bit of time on this!!!! Its a bit like Laterisers post. I want to ask one question......

Why are people waiting until after the DDGW??

I know you can see how the knew players fit in but you miss out on prise rises and rivals will make a lot of points up on you from the double game weeks. You could also say that you can get rid of your unwanted DGW players but if you pick the right ones, you won't need to get rid of them.

My team value is very low so for me I can't get the power 5 and all that so my template would be
    Begovic. ?
    ? ? ? ? ?
    Mata/bale. Michu. Fellaini. Walcott. ?
    RVP. Suarez. Berbatov.

So if I fill in the blanks with DGW Players and get rid of fellaini for Nolan it would leave me with 2 from each team and happily keep my front 8. Then just swap around the backs and do Nolan TO Fellaini.

    Begovic. Turnbull.
    Sagna. Shaw. Demel. ? ?
    Mata. Michu. Nolan. Walcott. Puncheon.
    RVP. Suarez. Berbatov.

i would happily keep my front 8. Then just swap around the backs and do Nolan TO Fellaini.
Any suggestions would be great. Now that I read it it is a lot like Laterisers.

    R.e Aguero injury.

His twitter says it has been torn, not just pulled. A pulled hamstring like Jose-Enrique usually takes 4-8 weeks. But Aguero's is TORN. Thats 12-24 weeks according to the average recovery time.

Looking for some advice please. I've played the wildcard and was wondering who I should bench and whether I should make changes. I think I've prepared well for the Double Week, but feel free to leave advice:

    Turnbull (Mignolet)
    Assou-Ekotto - Luiz - Cameron (Gibbs - O'Brien)
Walcott - Fellaini - Michu - Ramirez (Taarabt)
Defoe - Berbatov - Van Persie

Any advice would be much appreciated. Also, I was wondering who to captain? I was thinking Luiz or is that too risky?

So tempted to WC and pack team with Chelsea, Southampton, Arsenal and West Ham players - and then offload the ones you don't want with FT's. Could pay off with monster scores over the next couple of weeks...
