The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 23

Filed under: Betting - Posted by: Money Mike

With a goal from reliable Robin, an assist from Juan Mata and a clean sheet from Sunderland, we took Paddy Power for three crisp tenners last week as our weekly treble bet came in. Back in profit, can we maintain momentum with this week’s markets?

Determined to claw back our winnings, Paddy are dangling a very tempting proposition our way to open things up. With 13 goals to his name, Michu has been a sensation and, with Stoke at the Liberty this weekend, the Spaniard will be looking to add to their impressive first season tally. He’s gone three starts without a strike, while the Swans have conceded in their last three home matches. Even so, odds of 5/1 on a Michu goal with a Swansea clean sheet against the Potters look tasty and we’re willing to go gung-ho and throw no less than £4 the way of Paddy on this market.

Steven Gerrard found a place in our Scout Picks last night with Luis Suarez missing out. While Suarez seems to have hoodoo over the Canaries, we’re still backing Gerrard to get amongst the points have bagged returns in seven consecutive starts. Chris Hughton’s side have conceded in their last five away trips and we’re backing a home win with the skipper again getting in on the act. Paddy are dangling 4/1 on a Gerrard goal with a Liverpool clean sheet against Norwich and we’re more than happy to take them up on that for £2 of our money.

The final single player market involves City’s clash with an out-of-sorts Fulham. Although Edin Dzeko makes way for Sergio Aguero in our Scout Picks this week, the Bosnian has four goals in his last three league outings and looks primed to punish the Cottagers in today’s clash. Paddy are clearly backing City here, with just 2/1 on offer for a Dzeko goal with a City clean sheet. Nonetheless, we’ll throw them another £3 of our stake for this one.

That leaves just a solitary shekel for our treble market and, having triumphed last week, we’re perhaps hedging our bets somewhat this time around. A Van Persie goal against Spurs, together with a David Silva assist against Fulham and a Liverpool clean sheet is being offered at 10/1 by our bookmaker friends.

Podolski -> Plays wide, doesn’t play full games, on penalties (Arteta out), ill and missed some of this week’s training.

Giroud -> Plays up front, might not play both games, good headers, more of a goal threat imo,

    I can’t decide arghhhh

Advice and comments very much needed – My team at the moment:
    Szczesny
    Demel Zabaleta Luiz
    Walcott(C)Fellaini Michu Mata Noble
    RVP Fletcher
    subs: Begovic Ba Mariappa Clark

I am going to do Fletcher to Sturridge. Is it worth doing Cazorla to Mata for a hit on top of that? Essentially, selling Mata at 9.9 so easy enough to buy back later.

Should I do Bale to Santi? I don’t have a clue who my third Ars player needs to be. I was all set on Podolski but looks like he is ill. I have Walcott and Gibbs atm.

Thoughts? Who is your third Ars player ?

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”

Jan Vertonghen outlines what he feels is his best position for Andre Villas-Boas
