Clean sheets are the order of the day once again as Southampton and West Ham play out a goalless draw in Sunday’s only fixture. While the two sides continue to impress defensively, their inability to find the net is a real concern – both have notched just twice over the opening four fixtures:

The Game Changer

Jussi Jaaskelainen’s heroics between the sticks were once again crucial to the Hammers’ prospects today. Helping his side to a vital point at St Mary’s, the Finnish star denied Mauricio Pochettino’s side with five saves to register his third clean sheet in four matches – with just a single goal conceded to Stoke so far, the London outfit have been superb at the back and somewhat atoned for the problems up front which have seen them fail to score in three successive matches.

Up next for the Hammers is a home game against an Everton side that have one goal in three before a trip to Hull – more defensive points look likely before the schedule takes a turn for the worse from Gameweek 7 onwards.

The Underused

Seemingly out of favour under Pochettino, Nathaniel Clyne returned to the Southampton first XI for the first time this term. The right-back turned in an impressive showing and with a couple of bonus points also on the cards, he could return to Fantasy radars after shedding over 24,000 owners and dropping down to 4.4 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) – at least 0.2 cheaper than any other regular in the Saints’ defence.

With four kind home games (CPL, SWA, FUL, HUL) and a trip to Stoke in the next seven, Clyne looks set for further returns as Pochettino’s look to continue a run that has now seen them concede just twice in the opening four Gameweeks.

The Selection Poser

Clyne’s return was one of three changes from Pochettino today as Luke Shaw and Jay Rodriguez were also named in the starting line-up. While Shaw’s return was expected after he proved his fitness for the England Under 21s over the last week, his owners will be concerned after he was subbed off towards the end of the match – the player has since taken to twitter to reveal his withdrawal was due to cramp but his propensity for picking up niggles and failing to last 90 minutes is clearly becoming an issue.

Pochettino’s decision to hand Rodriguez a chance proved frustrating for James Ward-Prowse’s new owners. The youngster had started all of the first three Gameweeks and with a share of set-piece duties and kindly price tag, he was acquired by an extra 57,000 new FPL owners over the two-week international break. Handed an 19-minute second-half cameo towards the end of the stalemate, Ward-Prowse could be set for an exodus if Rodriguez keeps his place.

For the visitors, the second-half introduction of Razvan Rat could be a sign that Sam Allardyce is set to alter his full-back options. The summer signing hadn’t featured in the league prior to today but was sent on just after the hour mark in a move that allowed the versatile Joey O’Brien to switch from left-back to the opposite flank and saw Guy Demel withdrawn instead – perhaps an ominous sign for the Ivorian’s owners over the weeks to come.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

David Moyes sets Wayne Rooney 30-goal target at United this season.
"I will try to do that. I think Wayne's aim will be to do that as well. Hopefully we can make that happen," he said.

Moyes will resist the temptation to deploy Rooney in midfield. "Not just now. I can only see Wayne playing up top and playing as a forward for us,"

    Good for Rooney owners 🙂

Comedy-drama about a woman that gets sent to prison for transporting drug money. Prison setting, inmates, shenanigans, and whatnot.

A lot of HBA hate last night. I gotta say when he's fit he's a fpl points machine. Very Selfish and loves taking shots so should score more goals than assist them. I have been burnt by him cause of injuries a LOT, but even i concede that he has the form and ok fixtures to be worth a punt. Plus he gives you a 0.3 rise this week(prob 0.6 if he does well vs hull). Not like there are many alternatives in fpl at the moment. This year i'm going for Wally, Michu, Barfa and Mirallas as my premiums as they score more goals than assists and this year the baps dont really favor assists

Good morning folks. Hope we are doing fine.

Few permutations and combinations possible for me as i look to take a hit. Haven't quite made up my mind yet.

    Boruc
    Zabaleta M.Turner Shaw Collins Chester
    Theo Barfa Nolan Brady Williams
    RVP Tekkers Gru

    Got 3.5M in the bank.

I'm looking to turn M.Turner into a premium defender (Evra/Enrique) and Nolan into a premium defender soon. Also considering Zaba to the other of Evra/Enrique.

What move should i make first?

Nolan -> Eriksen/Michu/Cout(really fancy him if he plays as #10
    Turner -> Evra/Enrique

Also i would appreciate if you be specific with which player i should go for. If there are any other suggestions you would like to make, i am all ears. I even have the cash to convert Brady to a 8.5M but that would leave me with no cash for a defender upgrade.

If I had to pick a defender I'd go with Enrique or walker. Great fixtures and attacking threats at reasonable price.

I like the look of erikson but I'd give him one more week. Same applies for cout and michu, see how they go tonight and then evaluate. If one or both perform poorly they will surely drop in price also

Dreams come true!!! In fact they already are!!! He continues to play but no one has him because everyone expects his next game to be his last!!! To be fair I think he only stayed in the team on Saturday because Mertesacker spent his Saturday sitting on the bog with armed with imodium and a 9 pack of andrex.

    Effect of Pienaar on Baines:

    Everton vs Chelsea
    http://espnfc.com/en/gamecast/367446/gamecast.html?soccernet=true&cc=4716
    Cardiff Vs Everton
    http://espnfc.com/en/gamecast/367446/gamecast.html?soccernet=true&cc=4716
    Everton vs West Brom
    http://espnfc.com/en/gamecast/367446/gamecast.html?soccernet=true&cc=4716
    Norwich vs Everton
    http://espnfc.com/en/gamecast/367473/gamecast.html?soccernet=true&cc=4716

The myth that Coleman plays far ahead of baines looks like it was not true with baines playing further or the same average position as Coleman for GW 1-3.. However, vs chelsea he was far deeper. This could be cause he had to defend more cause it was chelsea but i fear it was because he's partner in crime pienaar was dropped(which will prob happen a lot now). With Mirallas playing on the left Baines had to play a lot deeper as Mirallas does not track back and has a habit of cutting in a lot which leaves Baines exposed. I agree that the sample is small but to all those wanting to get baines in(me included) i'd wait a week or two and see if this continues. Baines was half the defender and half the attacker he was cause of Pienaar(Check how both of them occupy virtually the same average position). Coleman is an ivanovic type defender who is that he can track back and cover his defensive duties whenever required. Baines just cant do that and requires a Pienaar type player to cover him.. not mirallas. Just for your information. cheers

I think Baines will be even more deadly once Lukaku is back.I Don't read to much in Mirallas yesterday when he was playing thru the middle.

I still stand by my view that at the same price Baines will outscore Mirallas by at least 30pts over the 38 weeks.

That's what i thought until i saw pienaar dropped. As an Everton admirer i've always thought that Baines and Pienaar are a gr8 together and average apart. Mirallas is the worst player(apart from nani) to have in front of you as a defender. He plays a free role even though he's supposed to play as a winger. Gr8 fpl prospect though Mirallas. In those AVG maps he was further ahead than Jelly and Kone most times.

    --quick doubt about $.
    i have cash $.5
    if i drop Oscar $8.5 for hba 7.2, i save 1.3...

i was planning next week w/ ft trade Whitaker $4.1 + team cash $1.8 for Vidic, but i come up to $5,9, short $.1

if tomorrow HBA goes up another .1 to 7.3, that $.1 i can use to get Vidic (since it goes to my cash) or no, that .1 only is used if i decide in future to trade HBA?

I agree, some great moments this season especially the "confession" tape. i couldn't stop laughing how despicable he has become!

    Morning,

CL / Barca Q; Adriano likely to start while Alba is out?
CL / PSG Q; Moura nailed on or is Matuidi better option?

    Thanks

Warped hope for the Liverpool-Swansea game:
Mignolet gets red-carded for a professional foul. The resulting penalty is missed and Liverpool goes on to win 1-0 on a JEnrique goal.

Seriously, how much panic would happen if Migs is suspended for even one game?
