The ScoutCast – Episode 117 – Hits

Not often acclaimed for his sage-like wisdom, Granville is enjoying his season in the sun and is firing advice, sympathy and jibes my way, in equal measure. With little to lose, I’ve even resorted to taking his guidance on board. After spending points on transfers on the Mancunian’s recommendation, I’m looking on my squad with optimistic eyes, although Granville is far from convinced that I made the “greatest hits”.

After raining on my revival parade, Granville joins me to talk Suarez, Oscar vs Hazard and Jim Bowen before we roll out the podcast regulars – “All Aboard”, the weekend preview and the usual dalliance with the ScoutCast team.

Spend your points frivolously via this link or join the transfer frenzy by streaming via the player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just read an article on Cabaye & his great performance for France. They called him le petit prince. I'm not sure but did Cabaye score as well? I already have Remy but after that article I'm thinking of using my ft to get Cabaye as well. But having 2 Newcastle makes me nervous. However both Cabaye & Remy are in great form atm. I read an article about how hard Newcastles pre-season fitness was due to the fact there are so many French players in contention for the world cup. Newcastle has been inconsistent in the past but after a shaky start this year they have been consistent. The key is fitness. Sorry about the ramble but my question is:

Is both Remy & Cabaye too much Newcastle?

Nor, WB, Swansea, Man Utd, Saints I think the fixtures are coming up for Newcastle, looking at that it may be worth a punt to be honest but I would not keep him for long just a few games and out.

I suppose it depends if you are playing catch up in an ML or you are the leader looking for safe options 🙂

Looking to ship him gw15 to Sess. Obviously a lot can change in that time but I only want him for Nor, WBA & Swan. I am chasing the pack so making a few punts like Remy (c).

They are also playing to Remy's strengths of running on to a through ball...Remy has taken up a very deep avg position whilst Cabaye is third highest "through ball" player per game...An obvious game plan that's working well...

Imo Remy will go from strength to strength. He's nice & rested for Nor & I think New will win 4-0 with Remy to score 2. He is quick, skilful with a great shot. I can see Cabaye setting them up & Remy putting them away.

FOOTBALL - Everton v Liverpool (Saturday, 1245 GMT)
At the Merseyside derby on Saturday. Interested to see if Roberto Martinez injects belief into Everton against Liverpool that often seemed lacking under David Moyes.

Liverpool - in particular Luis Suarez - may just fancy their chances of taking advantage of Everton's occasionally ponderous play out from the back. Everton, and Liverpool, will recall how Romelu Lukaku scored on both his appearances for West Brom against Brendan Rodgers's side last season.

    This coming week:

Januzaj to Rav, Lukaku to Remy

    The following week:

Zaba to McCauley, Rooney to Aguero

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM NEWS - West Ham v Chelsea (Saturday 1730 GMT)
Razvan Rat is doubtful for West Ham because of a hamstring injury sustained with Romania. Joey O'Brien and James Collins (both hamstring) are expected to be fit after withdrawing from international duty.

Winston Reid (ankle) could be fit and George McCartney (knee) is back in training, but Andy Carroll (heel), Mladen Petric (thigh), Matthew Taylor (thigh) and Alou Diarra (both knee) are absent.

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM NEWS - Newcastle v Norwich (Saturday 1500 GMT)
Norwich will again be without record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who is recovering from a toe injury.

Anthony Pilkington looks to have shaken off the hamstring problem which ruled him out of international duty with the Republic of Ireland, but goalkeeper Mark Bunn is set for at least a month on the sidelines following a minor ankle operation.
