The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 17

We turn to three of the top five sides in our attempt to get the better of Paddy this weekend. A couple of in-form midfielders and a forward from the Blue half of Merseyside are our main men – the trio also found the way into this week’s Scout Picks as we put our money where our mouth is:

Our first port of call is at Craven Cottage where Fulham brace themselves for the visit of free-scoring City. Since recovering from injury at the start of last week, David Silva has scored against Bayern and Arsenal already and with that in mind, we fancy the little Spaniard to breach Rene Meulensteen’s backline and steer his side to victory in the absence of Sergio Aguero. Paddy have generously offered odds of 11/2 on Silva to find the net and City to register a clean sheet and we’re confident enough to throw £4 their way.

Next up we head to the Liberty, where Swansea go head-to-head with Everton. The hosts are severely weakened at the back and will be without Michel Vorm and Angel Rangel through injury and suspension respectively, offering the in-form Toffees another chance to pick up the points under Roberto Martinez. Paddy are offering a towering 18/1 on Romelu Lukaku to score twice or more and the Toffees to register a clean sheet – given that they’ve conceded once in their last four road trips, we’ve convinced enough to stick £3 on this one.

Our final bet is kept for Monday night’s encounter at the Emirates, where Arsenal take on Chelsea. A win would leave the Gunners sitting pretty at the top of the table and give Arsene plenty to smile about as he tucks into his Christmas Day sprouts and we’re banking on Theo Walcott continue the form that saw him bag a brace at the Etihad last Saturday. With Paddy prepared to offer 17/2 on a Walcott goal and Gunners clean sheet, we empty our wallet of its remaining £3.

If you’re yet to register an account with Paddy, be sure to check out this week’s “Tasty Treble”. Paddy are offering odds of 5/1 on Liverpool, Man City and Man United all to win against Cardiff, Fulham and West Ham respectively this weekend.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Whats all this silly talk of COVERAGE.

Walcott or Silva, makes no difference what "COVERAGE" for that team you have. Get the player you think is more likely to score the most points. Safe option being Silva, in the hole for the top goal scoring side, risky option being Wally, not neccessarily nailed on but potential to explode.

    COVERAGE SMOTHERAGE, TOTAL BULL!

Little Christmas pressie from me to all you lovely scouters - some cheap options in defence in the run in to season end, after Jan WC

9 Hammers games from GW 19 (after mun ARS) are excellent:

WBA, ful, car, NEW, che, SWA, avl, NOR, SOT

Just one red (che), no pinks.

Norwich rotate almost perfectly with them ("blues" not home games) from now until GW 37. Might be a good plan to book in at least one Norwich and one Hammer defender and possibly Ruddy/Jask in the Jan window. The hammers awful fixture list will drop their price too, so should be bargains to be had. Remember both Norwich and WHM have done well defensively this season - given that Reid is due back for WHM soon I can see that recurring.

(disclaimer - they could both tank of course and this could work out as a terrible plan, but fixtures vs. price there has to be value in it).

ok, I've decided to buy Sterling

    who should I sell?

    A) Ravel Morrison - same price
    B) Alex Pozuelo - cost me 0.8 cash

Pozuelo seems the obvious choice due to uncertain playing time, but I'd rather keep the 0.8 cash to use on other upgrades in coming weeks.

I was almost leaning towards doing Ravel & Coutinho > Pozuelo & Silva (-8) this week. I think Pozuelo is establishing himself in the team - Laudrup said from a very early stage (back in October) that he saw him as their Coutinho http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/Michael-Laudrup-Pozuelo-Swansea-City-s-Coutinho/story-19873683-detail/story.html
