Buy buy buyOpen Controls- Giggs the gaffer analysis
On Giggs first day in charge A few points IMO.
I wouldn't have played : ( I was never for Moyes )
Vidic - appalling all season and leaving / terrible attitude and lacking respect for the club who stood by him through thick and thin.
Ferdinand - long past his best and Tweeting seems to be his main interest now.
Evra - Is questionable too , decent all season but prolonged contract talks / non contract talks shows his real lack of loyalty to the club.
I was delighted Giggs played Cleverly - harshly treated by most , still has potential / lots to offer.
Giggs should have played Mata , he proved his worth when he came on - credit tho to the management team (Giggs) for being braved enough to take off Wellbeck to ensure a fluid formation.
I would question starting Wellbeck , for me he's not a united player either - noises afoot of unhappiness - let him go I say , average at best.
To summarise I didn't like the fact he reinstalled the old boys club , some of these people have not shown enough respect or desire for the club.
Before the casuals get carried away with Giggs , he couldn't lose today or in the next 3 anyway, Moyes would have beaten this relagation threatened / poor Norwich side today.Open ControlsSo you think he did a bad job in selecting the team ?
Dude they won 4-0 lolOpen Controls(I was not for Moyes )
Moyes was trying to rebuild and plan ahead with younger players , Giggs copped out and went easy street IMO.Open Controlsso you wanted him to rebuild the team in 5 days?
Giggs as ODP just said, won teh match 4-0 and had them play entertaining football.
That was his job and doing it the "easy" way makes no odds.Open ControlsHe has rewarded those who have thrown the rattle out of the buggy ,
Lacked balls and lacked conviction, and bat a lucky peno Utd may have struggled - let's not overly praise this team , it's manager or today's performance.Open Controls
Tbf I think his job is to treat the fans for a few weeks before van gaal takes over
Open Controls
I like that he started Jones at RB despite the fact he hates playing in that position. He is suited to it and will always be a far better RB than CB in my opinion.
I think he would have learned a few things in that game and I'd expect Mata to be a regular starter for the rest of the season. I agree with your thoughts on Wellbeck, perhaps he might get a go on the LW instead maybe.Open ControlsWhat's this then. A rational utd fan? I've seen it all now 😛
Open ControlsIn defense of Paddy, United (and maybe Evra too iirc) have an option to extend the deal by one year without negotiations ala Berbatov a while back, so it makes sense to leave it until they know how things stand.
Like both Cleverley and Welbeck, Welbz however is contract angling having taken note of Roonpig's styleOpen ControlsI don't know enough about what went on behind the scenes, but a lot of the discontent and contract issues could well be down to the players not being happy with Moyes.
I also think it is patronising to say only casuals would want Giggs as manager there. Wasn't Pep Guardiola a totally inexperienced when he started at BarcaB, moving rapidly to the main team and global recognition? It is easy to say they need a big big hitter but that is mainly because with the amount of money at stake investors want to be reassured with a big name. But big names do not always work - ie AVB (yes I know he was always a dick) and manyother examples.
Giggs taking over is probably not going to happen, but I for one would love to see it happen and for him to be a success. I think he could do it - he is not your average football player and it would be an amazing story to watch.Open ControlsVan gaal confirmed no?
Open ControlsI am not for Giggs tbh , as I said above lacked conviction / lacked balls - should have buried Rio today (at least) for me today , he should have went with the younger players , but listened (IMO) to the whispers of the senior players - the very players who should have worn the crest with pride and passion all season not just today , Ryan Giggs played to the crowd.
" playboys of the western world " meets " beggars on horseback " syndrome for me.Open Controls
Dude, yesterday and the next 3 matches are a PR exercise in trying to restore some fan faith and dignity, not about taking further unnecessary chances with team formation. The old guard worked and as it turned out yesterday, still works! In one breath you're saying Giggs took the easy route and in the next he benched Mata! Benching Mata was no easy decision.
And I think most Utd fans would dispute that at home to a team fighting relegation was no easy match either, given that we've one of the worst home records this season.Open ControlsI like what he did.
They enjoyed themselves against a relegated ( IMO) team. I believe they would hav won whomever was in charge.
They put the the right kind o balls in.
Bringing in some of the old boys, ok yes a little iffy
They'll strong finish but that's schedule nothing more.
Fantasy assets now though.Open Controls

EVRA VS JONES
Most of you will be looking for a United defender for their double to follow. This argument will make your job a whole lot easier. I am not taking into account Vidic and Ferdinand as I feel that the old stalwarts might not be able to play two games back to back.
-Jones is the more versatile of the two and can play in central midfield, central defence and as a right back
-However, I reckon that with Giggs' preference for academy graduates and experience coupled with the fact that all Carrick,Fletcher and Cleverley are fit means that Jones is unlikely to play in central midfield
-Rafael can be back anytime soon, and despite the fact that Jones seems to have overtaken Smalling in the pecking order for the right back position, he may still have competition in making the position his own
-Even if Vidic and Ferdinand dont play both the games, Jones will have to compete with Evans and Smalling for the central defender spot
-Evra,on the other hand seems completely nailed on with no competition whatsoever with Buttner not even in the squad last night
People might still disregard my reasoning and get Jones over Evra based on him getting more points than Evra last night. But Evra could have had an assist himself if Ruddy hadn't pulled off that brilliant save for Rooney. Fantasy football is a funny game.Open ControlsAll of the man utd defence will be rotated. No-one is safe, just everyone is just trying to convince themselves their pick is.
Open ControlsWhy not Evra vs Zabaleta ? Think I will go for a Man. City defender over a Man. Utd defender.
Open ControlsUnited at home to Hull and Sunderland.
City will play Everton at Goodison, which is never an easy fixture. Then they have Villa who are fighting for their lives. I can see them nick a goal on the counterOpen ControlsIs Sunderland also fighting for their lives and just won/drew Chelsea/MC? MU has nothing to fight for except pride, you can't rule out the chance Evra could be rested in mid-week when the WC is on horizon while the two matches are only 3 days apart for MU. In contrary, MC need to win every matches to be the champ, no room to rotate (except LB position).

Evra looked good yesterday...
I fancy him for some attacking returns in the next few games...
I'm going with him...Open ControlsI still think Jones due to his fitness and versatility.
I don't think he's a candidate for CM too, but he could be shifted to fill in 3/4 defensive spots.Open ControlsBut what is the point of versatility if he still has to face competition in those positions?
Open Controls
Couldn't afford Evra so got Jones, pretty sure he will start the 2 DGW games. If not, the assist the other day nearly evens it out.

UFPL stick or twist?
Who made a successful armband selection yesterday? Who is hoping for bench replacements to prevail? And, how are those loan moves working out?Open ControlsI see you're top of the contributors league jonty, you gonna go back to yaya this week?
Open ControlsA good day, in the top 400 as well. Not sure on yaya at the mo... He's great but not sure I have the room in midfield.
Open ControlsNice one Jonty. Our seasons seem to be following a pretty similar pattern. I leapt up from 1.2k to 550th yesterday with 45 and no hit.
Also like me, you are trying to make your first top 1k finish. I have missed out twice previously in final GWs, so determined to make it this time.Open ControlsIf you have Nasri, it doesn't seem necessary to get in Yaya as well, and who would you drop, unless it was Nasri himself, as the rest of your mids are great.
I assume you are selling Baines this week for a Man U def? And nice to see a fellow manager allowing Noone to rot away on their bench until the end.Open Controls
Sticking with Bony here.
Transferring out Coleman, baker, lukaku, McCarthy, Livermore though. Problem is bringing in Suarez and two Chelsea defendersOpen ControlsI am cautious about loans though. Ranked 66 with no loans. Not sure if I would have been higher or lower if I'd taken then punt
Open ControlsA good day for me. Only dropped from 112th to 155th, despite taking out a double loan for two weeks (-14 for Silva and Haz to Mata and Ramsey).
Captained Mata as well, so that will stay. I still have 6 to play with an adjusted total of 48 for this week after substitutions. Aiming for top 100 by the end of the GW.Open Controls
Got exact cash to do Eriksen + Coleman -> Yaya + Evra. Should I go for it before price changes or wait a day and get another Utd def instead Evra?
Open ControlsHow many yellow cards is Evra away from the ban?
