On Giggs first day in charge A few points IMO.
    I wouldn't have played : ( I was never for Moyes )
Vidic - appalling all season and leaving / terrible attitude and lacking respect for the club who stood by him through thick and thin.
Ferdinand - long past his best and Tweeting seems to be his main interest now.
Evra - Is questionable too , decent all season but prolonged contract talks / non contract talks shows his real lack of loyalty to the club.

I was delighted Giggs played Cleverly - harshly treated by most , still has potential / lots to offer.

Giggs should have played Mata , he proved his worth when he came on - credit tho to the management team (Giggs) for being braved enough to take off Wellbeck to ensure a fluid formation.

I would question starting Wellbeck , for me he's not a united player either - noises afoot of unhappiness - let him go I say , average at best.

To summarise I didn't like the fact he reinstalled the old boys club , some of these people have not shown enough respect or desire for the club.

Before the casuals get carried away with Giggs , he couldn't lose today or in the next 3 anyway, Moyes would have beaten this relagation threatened / poor Norwich side today.

Giggs as ODP just said, won teh match 4-0 and had them play entertaining football.

That was his job and doing it the "easy" way makes no odds.

I like that he started Jones at RB despite the fact he hates playing in that position. He is suited to it and will always be a far better RB than CB in my opinion.

I think he would have learned a few things in that game and I'd expect Mata to be a regular starter for the rest of the season. I agree with your thoughts on Wellbeck, perhaps he might get a go on the LW instead maybe.

In defense of Paddy, United (and maybe Evra too iirc) have an option to extend the deal by one year without negotiations ala Berbatov a while back, so it makes sense to leave it until they know how things stand.
Like both Cleverley and Welbeck, Welbz however is contract angling having taken note of Roonpig's style

I don't know enough about what went on behind the scenes, but a lot of the discontent and contract issues could well be down to the players not being happy with Moyes.

I also think it is patronising to say only casuals would want Giggs as manager there. Wasn't Pep Guardiola a totally inexperienced when he started at BarcaB, moving rapidly to the main team and global recognition? It is easy to say they need a big big hitter but that is mainly because with the amount of money at stake investors want to be reassured with a big name. But big names do not always work - ie AVB (yes I know he was always a dick) and manyother examples.

Giggs taking over is probably not going to happen, but I for one would love to see it happen and for him to be a success. I think he could do it - he is not your average football player and it would be an amazing story to watch.

I am not for Giggs tbh , as I said above lacked conviction / lacked balls - should have buried Rio today (at least) for me today , he should have went with the younger players , but listened (IMO) to the whispers of the senior players - the very players who should have worn the crest with pride and passion all season not just today , Ryan Giggs played to the crowd.

Dude, yesterday and the next 3 matches are a PR exercise in trying to restore some fan faith and dignity, not about taking further unnecessary chances with team formation. The old guard worked and as it turned out yesterday, still works! In one breath you're saying Giggs took the easy route and in the next he benched Mata! Benching Mata was no easy decision.

And I think most Utd fans would dispute that at home to a team fighting relegation was no easy match either, given that we've one of the worst home records this season.

They put the the right kind o balls in.
Bringing in some of the old boys, ok yes a little iffy
They'll strong finish but that's schedule nothing more.

    EVRA VS JONES

Most of you will be looking for a United defender for their double to follow. This argument will make your job a whole lot easier. I am not taking into account Vidic and Ferdinand as I feel that the old stalwarts might not be able to play two games back to back.

-Jones is the more versatile of the two and can play in central midfield, central defence and as a right back
-However, I reckon that with Giggs' preference for academy graduates and experience coupled with the fact that all Carrick,Fletcher and Cleverley are fit means that Jones is unlikely to play in central midfield
-Rafael can be back anytime soon, and despite the fact that Jones seems to have overtaken Smalling in the pecking order for the right back position, he may still have competition in making the position his own
-Even if Vidic and Ferdinand dont play both the games, Jones will have to compete with Evans and Smalling for the central defender spot
-Evra,on the other hand seems completely nailed on with no competition whatsoever with Buttner not even in the squad last night

People might still disregard my reasoning and get Jones over Evra based on him getting more points than Evra last night. But Evra could have had an assist himself if Ruddy hadn't pulled off that brilliant save for Rooney. Fantasy football is a funny game.

Is Sunderland also fighting for their lives and just won/drew Chelsea/MC? MU has nothing to fight for except pride, you can't rule out the chance Evra could be rested in mid-week when the WC is on horizon while the two matches are only 3 days apart for MU. In contrary, MC need to win every matches to be the champ, no room to rotate (except LB position).
