The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 37

Our penultimate attempt to get the better of Paddy sees us turn to an in-form midfielder and forward who both brace themselves for home comforts this weekend. We also call upon a certain Belgian wide man, as Chelsea look to bounce back from their midweek Champions League exit and keep their title ambitions alive:

We start off on Saturday afternoon, where Man United prepare for the visit of relegation-threatened Sunderland. Paddy are offering 9/2 on Juan Mata to score and for United to register a clean sheet against Gus Poyet’s in-form side – considering that the Spaniard has scored five times in his last four appearances and that the Red Devils served up a first home clean sheet since January in Ryan Giggs’ first match at the helm, we’re willing to hand over £3 of our kitty.

Next up, we cross the border to Wales as Swansea prepare for a home encounter with Southampton. Paddy are ready to offer 25/1 on Wilfried Bony to bag a brace or more and for Garry Monk’s side to keep out the Saints. We expect a party atmosphere at the Liberty after the Swans sealed their survival last week and Bony is likely to be in the thick of the action again – having notched twice in each of his last two appearances, the Ivorian’s recent form persuades up to part with another £3.

Our final game is Sunday afternoon’s showdown at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea take on struggling Norwich. Paddy are dangling 3/1 on Eden Hazard to score and for the Blues to keep out the Canaries. With Jose Mourinho looking for a win to keep his side in the title race, the fit-again Belgian could well get amongst the goals in his first start since Gameweek 33, whilst Chelsea’s outstanding defensive record will be firmly backed to keep out Neil Adams’ side and register an eighteenth clean sheet of the season. We make this our bet of the week, then, and hand Paddy our remaining £4.
