World Cup 2014 – Semi-Finals Predicted Line Ups

Ahead of the World Cup semi- finals, we’ve compiled a working community article listing each teams’ expected line-up. Based on community feedback via the comment section below, this article will be updated with lineup changes and any points of interest with credits given to those who contribute.

Brazil (4-2-3-1)

Julio Cesar; Maicon, Dante, Luiz, Marcelo; Gustavo, Fernandinho; Hulk, Oscar, Bernard; Fred.

Netherlands (3-4-3)

Cillessen; de Vrij, Vlaar, Martins Indi; Kuyt, Blind, Wijnaldum, Sneijder; Depay, Robben; van Persie (c).

Notes: Vlaar has a knee injury which could see him sidelined with Janmaat earning a return to the starting XI. The Netherlands are sweating on the fitness of van Persie, who has a stomach bug. If he fails to make the starting XI Huntelaar is set to deputise.  Additional research by Wakey.

Argentina (4-3-3)

Romero; Zabaleta, Garay, Demichelles, Rojo; Mascherano, Biglia, Perez; Messi (c), Lavezzi, Higuain.

Notes: With Di Maria out through injury Rodriguez and Perez are among those who could take a starting XI place. Aguero is progressing well in training and may return from injury, but a bench role is more likely.

Germany (4-1-2-3)

Neuer; Boateng, Hummels, Höwedes, Lahm (c); Schweinsteiger; Khedira, Kroos; Muller, Ozil, Klose.

    Gustavo will return to the side. I think Paulinho drops out

    Janmaat hasn't started the last two matches

    Aguero is back for Argentina. Guess is that he'll start

      i'd imagine Aguero comes off the bench. surely can't be fit enough for 90+.

            It's just a guess. Probably more with my heart than head. Wisest thing would be him coming off the bench as Conrad says though. I'd avoid, as the risks outweigh the benefits

        that'd be sweet. unfortunately, our fantasy teams can't benefit from it since it's the 2nd game and will be WAY risky.

        No idea. Could even be Verheagh again. Depay OOP vs Costa Rica is different to Depay OOP vs Argentina

        I've made that switch too. I think they'll stick to the French formation largely. Lahm back to full back.

      Yep. Van Gaal mentioned it post match. Krul just chosen for his superior penalty saving ability.

      I've kept him in for the time being until we know more. Another start and sub off at 60 mins is still very possible at this stage.

    in this there is no chance for Hulk to put goal.

    but there are chances for Oscar, William and Ramires
    may be each one goals
