Scout Picks Community Champion Vote – Gameweek 10

As you may have noticed we’ve revamped our Scout Picks. Mark, myself, Paul and a community champion picked by you each week are up against each other.

We are now looking for Gameweek 10’s Scout Picks Community Champion to represent you and get one over on The Scouts as well as be in with a chance of winning a special prize. The champion who manages the best Gameweek score (or best score from the first ten matches in a double Gameweek) will win a £100 Amazon voucher. HVT is currently leading the race to win that prize with a score of 56.

To put yourself forward simply add in your Gameweek 10 Scout Picks here. For everyone else please upvote the poster you would like to represent you based on their picks. Please try to keep all discussion about the vote to this article and avoid spam canvassing, as it could prove counterproductive to your chances.

We only need 11 picks and please be mindful of budget. We are sticking to a budget of 83.5m. There’s no captain in the picks either and please stick to a designated FPL formation, including no more than three players from one team.

I’ll leave this vote for 24 hours and come back at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday) to find out who is the community’s choice. Any attempts to disrupt the voting process may lead to the team involved being removed at our discretion.

Once selected I’ll need you to email me at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with your final scout picks and 200 word explanation (I’m happy to take bullet points) by Thursday 5pm at the latest. There is time to alter based on injuries on Friday daytime – just keep me updated by email. If your champion fails to submit their final team by this time then an assistant from our team of moderators and contributors will step in.

Meanwhile, Gameweek 9’s champion Saniul is currently putting up a good fight. He has defeated Paul this week and still has a player to go.

Gameweek 10 scores so far are Mark – 61, Jonty – 57 with Brad Guzan to play, Saniul – 44 with Ron Vlaar to play, Paul  -39.

Usually i always keep fixtures in consideration for every player but in this case i "defied" fixtures for a couple of them:

    Forster

    Baines - F. Luis - Wisdom

    Hazard - Sanchez - Manè - Diamè

    Aguero - Berahino - Rooney

    83.3

    * Forster: He is my way into the Saints' defense because good goalkeepers are hard to find this season and he also has a 7.7% ownership, which is much lower than Clyne's and Bertrand's.

    * Baines: We hoped for a clean sheet and an assist against Burnley but that didn't happen, he only got an assist plus two BPS which he could probably rack up even if he wasn't on the pitch. Four assists and 5BPS in the last three games underline how much valuable Baines is with his attacking returns; he faces Swansea on saturday, a defense that managed to keep a clean sheet against Leicester but conceded two goals against both Newcastle and Stoke. The Toffees produced goals against any team this season and i really don't think they're are going to blank now against another very offensive team. Baines might not get a cleanie but since he plays almost like a playmaker he might be in for more attacking returns.

    * F. Luis: He could have got a CS against United but he didn't mostly because of Ivanovic's naivety. Everything possible but i can't really believe that Chelsea is not going to get a CS against QPR and Luis might even be able to collect some attacking points against the worst team in the league.

    * Wisdom: Chambers might be a more popular choice but i chose Andre for two reasons: first of all he fits in the budget and second of all because i believe that after three games without clean sheets, WBA is going to collect one against Leicester, a team that is clearly having some problems upfront with three blanks in the last four games(one even against Newcastle, one of the worst defenses in the PL).

    * Hazard: He's practically the only player i've had since GW1 and if he hasn't collected more points is mostly because of bad luck. He played a good game against United and could have score a good goal if his conclusion had been more clinical. He's clearly in shape, as proved in the CL too, and QPR looks like the perfect adversary for him to unleash all his potential(which is currently supported only by 14.6% of players).

    * Sanchez: He's really hard to ignore now with three goals and one assist in the last two games that have earned him 29 points. With Burnley next and an ownership of only 13.7% he could be a deadly differential.

    * Manè: Two goals in the last two games, a 0.2% ownership and a price of 6.9 make him a more eye-catching option than fellow teammate Tadic. Hull surprisingly managed to keep a CS against Liverpool but that was only their second CS of the season since they conceded almost two goals pretty much against any other team. With Pellè showing consistency upfront, Manè might not get another goal but he could be the one to assist the italian in another victory for the Saints.

    * Diamè: Usually, i don't like to put players "against each other" but Diamè is an evergreen for me. He could have scored against Liverpool too and while i do think that Forster is the best choice for GK i also think that it's going to be hard for Southampton to keep a third consecutive clean sheet against a team that scored in all but two games this season. IF Hull is going to score at least one goal i can definitely see it coming from the Beast, especially if he keeps playing in the hole.

    * Aguero: With Costa still a doubt(for now) and his much lower ownership, the argentine is still my number one choice. Not lucky against West Ham, El Kun might crash United's defence with one or two goals; his record against United is good and if Pellegrini decides to put him in a 4-5-1 formation his chances might even be higher.

    * Berahino: Sakho would have been my first choice but since he might be out for a month i decided to go with Saido. Five goals in four matches is impressive for a 5.9 forward and his numbers might even improve with trips to Leicester and Newcastle in the next 13 days. He has great form, good fixtures and he's also on penalties. Great budget choice.

    * Rooney: He might be a surprising pick(if not unpopular) but i can see a few goals being scored in the derby and i can absolutely see Rooney delivering some points against City given that when United was losing 4-1 against City with Moyes on the bench, Wayne was the only one playing for Manchester United. If Di Maria puts in a better performance than the one against Chelsea and with RVP looking the shadow of his old self(despite the goal that saved United yesterday), Rooney could become a very good differential pick.

    That's it, folks.

IMO the Scout Picks teams for double game-weeks ought to take all matches from the game-week into account, not just the first ten. Because of rearranged matches, some clubs might have two matches in the first ten, and others none, and we don't ignore the later matches in double game-weeks when selecting our own FPL teams.

And what about game-weeks in which there are fewer than ten matches because of postponements, thus putting our champions for those game-weeks at a disadvantage?

Surely the only fair method is to award the prize to the champion who defeats the Scouts by the greatest margin. But should that margin be over the best Scout team that game-week, or over the average score of the three Scout teams?

Also, if our champion fails to submit a team, can we take it that the assistant who steps in will basically use the team submitted in our champion's original application, only making changes if some of the players are unlikely to play or if price rises have caused the team value to exceed the 83.5m limit?

The assistant will just pick their own XI. Chance lost on the original team, I'm afraid.

Meanwhile re dgwks....we'll see how the planned method works out but are up for tweaks next season to any prizes. Beating all three Scouts could be one future prize next season perhaps...hasn't happened yet.

Rate my potential WC team anyone - bank is completely robbed to do it:

    Foster - 4.0

    Baines - Clyne - Wisdom - Hutton - Saylor

    Fab - Haz - Sanchez - Tadic - Obertan

    Aguero - Pelle - Berahino

A few sacrifices in certain areas but I'm hovering over the button...

    Foster

    Baines , Chambers , Cresswell

    Sanchez , Fabs , Chadli , Hazard

    Welbeck , Berahinho , Aguero

Considering the doubts surrounding Costa I think the double up on Fabs and Hazard will pay off vs a terrible QPR team

Creswells stats are impressive , clean sheet potential and two assists in his last two

Arsenal double up is risky and Welbeck is slightly off form but there are few better options

    RB's Rödallegameister's GW10:

    Foster (Lei // 4.5)
    Baines (Swa // 7.1) • F. Luis (QPR // 5.4) • Bertrand (Hul // 5.4) • Chambers (BUR // 4.6)
    Sánchez (BUR // 10.4) • Hazard (QPR // 9.9) • Mané (Hul // 6.9)
    Agüero (MAN // 12.5) • Costa (QPR // 10.9) • Sakho (Stk // 5.7)

    Total: 83.2

I could give you reasons for all the players but it would be a waste of time time to write it, and yours to read it.

Sakho is a punt, if he is ruelled out I will switch to Berahino (Lei // 5.9).

Off the top of my head, I don't think I have seen a team with Aguero and Costa, let alone those two with Hazard and Sanchez.

I have gone for a 4-3-3 to accomodate this, as Bertrand looks more likely to score well than any midfielders in that price bracket. I can see hauls from a lot of these players, with form and fixtures.

I'd love it if you could give this 'ol thing a press, so we can beat those mods one and for all

    Foster (4.5)
    Coleman (6.9) - Luis (5.4) Chambers (4.6)
    Sanchez (10.4) - Hazard (9.9) - Walcott (9.0) - Tadic (7.7)
    Berahino (5.9) - Costa (10.9) - Pelle (8.3)

    Total : 83.5

Foster - Easy games, possible clean sheet.

Coleman - Differential to Baines (as I suspect the Mod gonna move for Baines as Everton cover), same output as Baines from the right side. Naylor is adventurous, so plenty of space to exploited for Coleman.
Luis - One of the best player during second half of United v Chelsea. Cheap. Easy cleansheet, with some possible assist. Adventurous.
Chambers - Another easy cleansheet. Cheap option for Arsenal defender cover.

Sanchez - Is on fire. Took FK too. Should be good to have.
Hazard - Unlucky not scored against United, and we knew what he is capable of. And against QPR defender (Dunne, Rio, Yun, Caulker, Onuha), wow, must have.
Walcott - He should be fit for the game, already play few minutes last week and fit enough to be on bench against Sunderland. Fantasy darling.
Tadic - Set piece duty, nailed for start.

Berahino - Seems can't stop scoring, om form, cheap and on PK too.
Costa - Goals galore if he is fit.
Pelle - Spearhead of Saints attack. All attacking player would support him, can get at least one assists per game (in the last few games), good enough to warrant a start.

    current team

    Mannone (myhill)
Ivan - Zaba - Baines (Wisdom, PVA)
ADM - Hazard - Sterling - Siggi (Cork)
    Costa - Pelle - Berahino

thinking to drop Siggi (due to upcoming fixtures) and lost faith in Costa

    should i get -4 points

    Costa+Siggi -> Dirty Sanchez + Drogba ?

    or

Costa+Cork -> Dirty Sanchez + 4.9 fwd (Vardy or Jutkiewiz)?

or keep as it is and have 2 transf next round ?

    Here's my team:
    Speroni - Sunderland can't score
    Chambers - Burnley can't score
Felipe Luis - at home v QPR and possible attacking points too
Baines - impossible to leave out especially when playing at home
    Fabregas - Mr. Consistency
Hazard - due a big score and third Chelsea player with doubts over Costa
Sanchez - on fire and at home v Burnley
Bolasie - Tortured us last season home and away (don't tell anyone I'm a SAFC fan). Got to have a punt in there somewhere and 0.3% ownership
Aguero - Gonna be goals and who else?
Welbeck - due goals in the Prem and Burnley at home after no mid week game seems ripe
Berahinho - can't stop scoring, playing Leicester and on pens too

Morning all, here's my tuppence worth and a bit of reasoning to boot:

    Szceszny

    Terry----Baines----Kolarov

    A Sanchez---Oscar---Silva----Mahrez

    Costa---Welbeck---Lukaku

GK: Expect a clean sheet vs Burnley
DF: Probable clean sheets and I can see Baines and Kolarov causing havoc with their rampaging runs down the left, plus set piece opportunities. Also fancy Terry for a goal this week.
MD: Sanchez to tear Burnley apart. Oscar gets into great positions and, whilst Hazard does the hard work, it's often others who hoover the points. Oscar always scores well against lower table opposition at the Bridge. Silva in the hole will cause United huge problems on Sunday. Mahrez is direct, exciting, and I can see Leicester beating WBA.
ST: Costa should be fit to plunder a couple past QPR. Welbeck won't be kept quiet by Duff and Shackell. And Lukaku has hit a little bit of form and fancy him to cause Swansea problems at Goodison.
