The Dugout Discussion – Spurs versus United

Our feast of festive football rolls on this afternoon as Fantasy managers are treated to another nine matches. First up, Spurs take on United at White Hart Lane in a noon kick-off as Mauricio Pochettino’s side look to maintain their recent form and register a fourth successive league win.

There’s no question that Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane are the men in form for the home side. Both found the net once again on Friday in a 2-1 triumph at Leicester – the duo have each returned four goals and two assists in the last seven matches and face a defence with a single away clean sheet (at Burnley in Gameweek 3) this season.

United have their own form players, though. Despite being shifted to central midfield, Wayne Rooney has racked up five goals and two assists in his last six appearances, mirroring the output of Robin van Persie. With Juan Mata and Radamel Falcao also in fine fettle, the Red Devils still have plenty of strong options in the final third despite the absence of Angel di Maria, who has failed to recover from a pelvic injury.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

its a toss up for who is most pathetic - the people on here who snipe about others misfortune or those that bite when provoked. grow up its a game. your tradegies are slightly lower in scale to a million others in real life.

siggy for yaya i can live with gives me some monday interest and looking forward to zab and kol in tandem.

It's a difficult one to gauge - part of playing a game like fantasy football is engaging and dare I say caring about it. If you are indifferent you'll more than likely get little out of the experience. Of course if you do start to get angry about results or other individuals mocking your misfortunes you more than likely should take your experience within a wider context.

I guess you should enjoy it for what it is - an enjoyable enough game with close to no actual implications in the real world.

for the record i try my hardest to do well at the game but cant for the life of me understand the need to taunt others who have practically zero bearing on how i do in for example my mini league. some people on here are a tad unhinged from reality i feel. only a few in fairness most are sensible and grounded.

My cup opponent had De Gea (c). Not the worst pick.
    Aguero (vc) though 😀

It doesn't stop what people said yesterday being true - they have had a poor record. I have to say I am glad to see they're managing to perform in this game , I would like them to be fighting for a top 4 spot throughout the rest of the season.

Azpil my only non-starter so Naylor will come in, looks like I will miss out on Boyd's bench points

I'm going to transfer Clichy to Terry because although City have easier fixtures than Chelsea, it seems like Clichy is no longer nailed on, should I transfer?

    Thanks
