Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey are back for Arsenal. Leighton Baines is expected to return for Everton’s home clash with City, though Sylvain Distin is ruled out for the Merseysiders. Villa skipper Ron Vlaar is out for up to six weeks with a knee injury. Tim Krul is expected to return for Newcastle’s weekend trip to Stamford Bridge, Brendan Rodgers hopes to have Daniel Sturridge back at some point this month, whilst Marouane Chamakh could be set to return for Palace.

Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini are all available for Arsenal’s clash with Stoke after returning to training, though Danny Welbeck has been ruled out by Arsene Wenger.

Robert Martinez has ruled Sylvain Distin out of the visit of Man City this weekend, with the defender picking up a groin problem against the Hammers in midweek. Elsewhere, the Blues boss has confirmed that Leighton Baines missed the midweek tie with a knock, though is expected to be fully fit for the weekend.

Aston Villa have been rocked by the news that captain Ron Vlaar will miss the next four to six weeks of action with a knee injury. Meanwhile, Nathan Baker, Kieran Richardson and Gabby Agbonlahor are all expected to return in time for the trip to Leicester.

Tim Krul made his return from injury for Newcastle’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Celtic on Thursday evening. The Dutch stopper played 45 minutes, and went on to reveal that he feels good and hopes to be in contention for the meeting with Chelsea on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Daniel Sturridge is in the final stages of his recovery, and hopes the striker will be available again “at some point in January.”

Leicester midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has been ruled out of the weekend visit of Villa through injury, after the Argentine was withdrawn early on in the Foxes’ cup victory over Newcastle last week. In more positive news, fellow midfielder Danny Drinkwater may be in contention to train on Friday having come off injured against Liverpool, whilst Dean Hammond and Andy King have both made a return to training ahead of the weekend visit of Aston Villa.

Burnley skipper Jason Shackell will hope to prove his fitness in time for the weekend, after missing the midweek tie against Spurs with a calf injury. Clarets boss Sean Dyche is optimistic that the defender will train with the squad today, and is expected to make a judgement call on the skipper’s availability for the weekend. Fellow centre-back Michael Duff has also returned to training following injury, and will also be looking to prove his fitness ahead of the visit of QPR.

Alan Pardew could be handed a boost for his first home match in charge of Palace, with reports indicating that Marouane Chamakh could be set to make the squad for the visit of Tottenham.

For those who are WCing just now and are using a "filler" for a week or two who can be easily replaced by Kun when it looks like the right time, who are you using?

I've got Berahino and Kane as my others and am looking at:

    a) RVP
    b) Rooney
    c) Falcao
    d) Giroud
    e) Austin
    f) Ings
    g) Jovetic
    h) Costa (although I can't as I have Terry, Cesc and Hazard)

They all have flaws however - doesn't seem to be an obvious replacement big hitter

Currently on RVP but not sure - what's everyone else's view?

RVP out of form at the mo. It's between Falcao & Giroud for me, both have decent fixtures. Jovetic will probably only play this weekend

      Decent.

I have Cresswell in my starting line up however im thinking of taking Wisdom off the bench and playing him (The Pulis Effect).

Is RVP your place holder until Aguero is full fit?

    Hi All

Am i G2G, already used my 2FT to bring in Terry and Kane. Right to start Wisdom over Hutton?

    Guzan
    Zab, Wisdom, Terry
    Sanchez, Downing, Haz, Silva
    Costa, Kane, Austin

    Hutton, Jenkinson, Marney

I like that squad a lot for this gameweek. Personally, I think it's wise to play both Wisdom and Guzan.
(Mainly because if Villa concede a goal it would kill 2 cleansheets in one go if you play Guzan AND Hutton). This way, by playing Guzan/Wisdom you diversify your risk a bit. Who are you thinking of captaining, just out of interest?

Downing has gone cold. I wouldn't expect Silva to earn much points, there's better value elsewhere

I'm thinking ings myself, I don't have Kane and want to sell ayoze. If you have Kane, perhaps bent eke or ings I'd suggest.

Real dilema. Who to bench out of:
    -Boyd
    -Downing
    -Austin

Swansea weakened by ACON so West Ham could do well...but then again Burnley v QPR could be big scoring game as both will go for it.

Why is there being no love shown to Falcao? Rvp seems to be a more natural choice but Falcao is playing great n has a greater chance of scoring right?

Still relatively unproven, decent ppg but it could go either way. RVP has gone cold though. Tough choice of which Utd forward to select, I've gone for Falcao

    A)
    Courtois (Heaton)
Debuchy - Terry - Clichy (Wisdom - Wasil)
Sanchez - Hazard - Eriksen - Johnson (Boyd)
    RVP - Kane - Ings

    B)
    Heaton (Panti)
Terry - Wisdom - Wasil (Cameron - PVA)
Sanchez - Chadli - Hazard - Henderson (Boyd)
    RVP - kane - costa

    In a wildcard. 1.3 ITB

    Heaton (Pantiimon)
    Wisdom - JT - Hutton (Jones - N Taylor)
Boyd - Fabregas - Siggy - Sanchez (Colback)
    Kane - Rooney - Costa

Mirallas will score lots of points although his fixtures are a bit patchy. Walcott is nailed but still being eased back in, can you free up another .2 to get him in
