Fantasy Indian Premier League 2015

After the fun and frenzy of the cricket World Cup, I present to you the Fantasy IPL 2015. The tournament gets under way on the 8th of April and cricket and Fantasy sports fans in general can register for the Fantasy IPL game here. Upon doing so, you’ll be sent a verification email which you must click on to complete registration and create your team. Below is a list of the rules, including how scoring and transfers work, and at the end, you can find the code to join the FFScout league for the Fantasy IPL game.

THE RULES

SELECTING AN XI:

For Tournament Mode and Match Mode, you have 1 million Credits to build a squad of 11 players. Each player has been assigned roles (batsman, all-rounder, wicket keeper, bowler), and a price (ranging from 60,000 Credits to 110,000 Credits).

    • Squad Balance:
    • four or five batsmen.
    • At least one all-rounder.
    • Exactly one wicket keeper (you can pick variable role wicket keepers as batsmen)
    • At least two bowlers.
  • Team Spread: Not more than six players from any one ICC Cricket World Cup team.
  • Overseas Limit: You can pick a maximum of four overseas players in your squad.
  • Uncapped Quota: Your squad must have at least one uncapped player. An uncapped player is an Indian cricketer who has not played in any ODIs, Tests or T20 Internationals.
  • Once you have selected a squad, you can pick any one player from your XI to be the Power Player. Your Power Player earns you double points, so he can make a big difference to your score. Your XI will start earning points from the next match.
  • Remember, for Match Mode, you need to select a new XI for each match. You have to select your squad, and choose your Power Player before the first ball of a match is bowled. Winners will be declared for each match based on the points scored.

SCORING

Batting Points

  • Base Score: 1 point per run.
  • Impact Score: 2 points per six, -5 for a duck.
  • Milestone Bonus: 10 points for every 25 runs scored.
  • Pace Bonus: Runs Scored – Balls faced.

Bowling Points

  • Base Score: 20 points per wicket.
  • Impact Score: 1 point per dot ball, 20 points for a maiden over.

Fielding Points

  • Catch: 10 points.
  • Stumping: 15 points.
  • Direct Hit: 15 points.
  • Run Out: 10 points for each player involved.

Bonus Points

  • Player of the Match: 25 points.
  • Victory bonus: 5 points for victory in League Stage. 10 points for victory in Playoffs.
  • Milestone Bonus: 10 pointsfor the 2nd wicket, 10 points for each subsequent wicket.
  • Pace Bonus: 1.5 x Balls – Runs conceded. If it is positive, it is doubled.

CHANGING YOUR SQUAD

Substitutions

Before the tournament: Unlimited subs.

Match 1 to Match 56: 75 subs.

After Match 56 and before Qualifier 1: Unlimited subs.
Qualifier 1 to Final: 10 subs.

LOCK IN, POWER PLAYER & UNCAPPED SUBS

  • Teams are locked when the first ball of a match is bowled.
Changes made after the first ball of a match is bowled will not affect points earned in that match. So if you drop a player after the first ball of the match is bowled, he’ll still earn points for you in that match.
  • For the Daily Challenge, you can make unlimited substitutions till the first ball of the first match of the day is bowled. You cannot make any changes to your squad for that day after the first ball of the day is bowled.
  • You can change your Power Player as many times as you want. So remember to change it for every match.
  • Every match, you can bring in one uncapped player into the squad without it counting as a substitution. So, picking an uncapped player for each match is a great strategy.

STEALTH MODE

Every hotly contested league has a few crucial matches, when you’re making critical substitutions and trying to earn as many points as possible. In such cases, hiding your squad changes from opponents adds a massive strategic advantage.

Stealth Mode is a feature that lets you do exactly that. You can activate Stealth Mode in the Confirm Substitutions panel in the Change Squad page.

Once activated, other users will not be able to see your current squad. Instead, when they visit your page, they will see the squad and updated time for the previous match. There will be no indication that you are in Stealth Mode, it will simply look like you’ve made no changes since the previous match.

If you are in Stealth Mode, you can make any number of changes and none of them will be visible. Your new squad is revealed only after the next lock-in.

You can activate Stealth Mode for any five matches of your choice, from Match 2 onwards.

SCHEDULED SUBSTITUTIONS

There may be days on which you are unable to make substitutions because you may be travelling, stuck in a meeting or stranded on a desert island. In such situations, scheduling your substitutions beforehand is a big relief.

The Scheduled Substitutions feature lets you schedule changes one match in advance, by clicking on the “Schedule Substitutions” link on your home page. You can also review or cancel scheduled subs from your homepage.

You can only schedule subs for the match after the next one. So if the next match is Match 5, you can schedule squad changes for Match 6.

All Scheduled Substitutions for a match will be automatically performed after the lock-in of the previous match.

Warning: If you have subs scheduled for a match, you cannot make changes to your squad unless you cancel those scheduled subs.

You can also choose to activate Stealth Mode along with your Scheduled Substitutions.

The Scheduled Substitutions feature can be used any number of times.

In Match Mode, you choose a new squad for each match. You can make unlimited changes to this squad and the Power Player till the first ball of the match is bowled.

The code to join the FFS league is 17538.

I’d be happy to help with potential starting elevens and if you need help scouting Indian players.

6.25pm I don't know what 'likely to be' means here, or whether this is an official announcement at all, but anyway:

The pitch inspection, which is likely to be at about 19:00, will involve some very muddy boots! #RCBvsDD #IPL

6.37pm And now the covers are coming off the outfield. Arun says there'll be an inspection at 6.45pm if there's no more rain.

18:50 Local: Yes, as Russel Arnold has tweeted, it will be a 19:00 restart with no overs lost. Let's just hope this pesky rain stays away for good this time.

D/L Scenario: #RCB's target for 10 overs: 80/0, 82/1, 85/2, 89/3, 95/4, 104/5. This is PAR SCORE. @RCBTweets will need to score one run more

D/L Scenario: #RCB's target for 5 overs: 39/0, 43/1,48/2,56/3,67/4, 82/5. This is PAR SCORE. @RCBTweets will need to score one run more #IPL

Another 2 transfers wasted, hell man !

Have just 4 players now for the last one,
need to catch up, Moises or Pollard ?

    Need to catch up.
So Pollard cause rivals are gonna bring in Henriques.

Only did 1 sub for the last 8 so i could have 2 + freebies for all the weekend games :/

Pollard is the outsider to catch up. Beware the Henriques though (even if he doesn't get MoM!). Although very rarely do people put 2 games together like that.

lol - your team hidden. damn , sold Silva for Caz , not over though.
        Parthiv doing me proud,
Who would have seen this outcome.

Happy Arse back for the draw though. Decent bet in Dec for Arse to finish above MU

Yeah it made me play secret thing as i hadn't used them! You can always see them on the live scores and track a league. Haha love that you kept Parthiv after a random transfer in.

Oh yeah, plenty of time, but i started this week 15pts behind, currently 15 ahead. Need all the points i can get! Yeah can imagine you were. Not that much in the game before that tbh, but after that i thought you might win. Congratulations. Hope you have a lovely celebratory drink with your winnings 🙂

I am not a Liverpool supporter (Everton actually) but I can't help but think they should get rid of Sterling. Without the likes of Suarez who gave Sterling space on the pitch the petulant little Bxxxxard should be flogged for 60 mil and they get good players with a level of respect and humility. I don't know how much his agent is responsible for the hype around him but for whatever reason, its not doing him or Liverpool any favours. I would like to see how he would get on without the protection of the club who gave him a chance.

For all those posting on here the very best of luck in the knockout phase. If i remember rightly...

    Perchinho = upsidedownthinking = 17,690 in 3rd

    Siva = Sons of Pitches = 16,942 in 16th

Everything to fight for as 700ish separating us all. 1 PP can make a difference still.

Allin , 7 RCB , 2 RR. No time left for dithering.

Will likely backfire , but as with all fantasy games , becomes more difficult to close the gap when all have pretty similar players.

    What you guys doing ?

Yeah . Was trying to get another RR player in , but restricted , so got Gayle , needed another batsman, and Gayle more explosive than Smith, hoping.

Basically Im punting a RCB win , otherwise Im in a bit of trouble

Yeah , GL Bun . We both had a good one yesterday , let it continue.

If i had the choice i would have had Gayle too. But yeah you have all the big guns.

Honestly if RCB win, my team will look very good for the final eliminator, but i have plans for either.

Yeah, you too although I'm not too sure we can both have a good game today though, we'll have to wait and see.

Good start by Watson . Was a close decision , being an allrounder

Yeah, gotta go with the 2 chances of scoring. Shame they both failed.

Haha what started as a casual thing I joined for my friends has turned out to be a decent decision.

Ranked 30th on Cricinfo fantasy. Anyone playing that?

    Mumbai Indians deserving winners.

Massive second half of the tournament for them.

And congrats Tarun Nekkanti for winning the FFS league.

See you all next season. 😀

Thanks! Was lucky to win such a competitive league and really encouraged me to perform well overall. Hope to be thereabouts next season 🙂
