The Scout Picks Community Champion Vote – Gameweek 36

Welcome to this week’s Scout Picks Community Champion vote. Here’s a reminder of how this works. As part of our revamped Scout Picks, Mark, myself, Paul and a community champion picked by you each week are up against each other. All four teams are then used to decide our final weekly Scout Picks.

We are now looking for Gameweek 36’s Scout Picks Community Champion to represent you and get one over on The Scouts as well as be in with a chance of winning a special prize. The champion who manages the best Gameweek score (or best score from the first ten matches in a double Gameweek) will win a £100 Amazon voucher.

To put yourself forward simply add in your Gameweek 36 Scout Picks. For everyone else please upvote the poster you would like to represent you based on their picks.

We only need 11 picks and please be mindful of the 84m budget. There’s no captain in the picks either and please stick to a designated FPL formation, including no more than three players from one team.

I’ll leave this vote open until 10am tomorrow (Wednesday) when I will announce the winner, who will be asked to submit their final XI plus 200-word explanation to me by 5pm Thursday.

Any attempts to disrupt the voting process may lead to the team involved being removed at our discretion. Also the comment section below is for those who want to present their teams and vote. If you have any suggestions on how the Scout Picks can be improved further next year please email me at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk rather than leave a comment below.

    Team value 80.3

Ospina - Ars clean sheet looks inevitable this week
Vlaar - West Ham are toothless and are on the beach
Kolarov - The man needs no introduction
McShane - Burney look gone and I wouldnt be surprised if they were relegated without scoring another goal in the PL
Ramsey - Beginning to show the form of last season
Silva - QPR will go for it leaving lots of space for the mousey Spaniard to exploit
Arnautovic - Lively player, one of my favourites in FPL and Spurs def looks shakey
Sanchez - The Chilean is back and with his performance v Hull a few more goals should be on the cards v Swans
NDoye - Its do or die time for Hull and this lad knows his way to the goal
Aguero - Will be everyones captain fantastic
Benteke - The most form striker in the league. Villa need points Benteke needs goals

    Ospina (SWA)
Kolarov (QPR) Vlaar (WHU) McShane (BUR)
Sanchez (SWA) Ramsey (SWA) Silva (QPR) Arnautovic (TOT)
Aguero (QPR) Benteke (WHU) NDoye (BUR)

Arnie is a great pick. McShane is cheap and Hull will keep a CS. With McGregor in the wings id prefer Hull def and Ospina will keep a cleanie.

Yeah good team. Do think it's a bit unfair that people should be allowed to be nominated twice in the same season though(believe innsie's already done it once?), given the limited no. of weeks and the several others who submit theirs and have just as good a team, but don't canvass for votes(not saying innsie does) and just submit and forget.

Fair enough Demi, if I won and people weren't happy with me doing it twice then I'd be fine with letting the 2nd most upvoted team be the chosen one. My personal view is that as a community we're voting for the 'team' not for the 'poster', so the poster doesn't really matter and shouldn't have an impact on peoples decisions.

Most probably don't care, it's just my personal view and not sure anyone else would really speak up about it. I also agree that we're voting for the team and not the poster, but alot don't follow those guidelines, and it's impossible to stop really

Nah, it's not really my right to tbh, was just giving my thoughts on the process in general. But would think most who get chosen, don't bother wanting to try again. Good luck anyway

Maybe next season it can be made a rule then. As I've said it's all about the 11 players that are chosen so if I feel like I've got a shot at beating the scouts then I'll go for it. This is the first time I've submitted a team since I won last time fwiw. But yeah a bit more clarification about the matter next season would be good as I know opinions are split on whether someone should be allowed to be the community rep more than once.

                    Cool.

Yeah will be interesting to see if it's revised for next season, and if there's any new plans to revamp then, as some still prefer when it's just Mark giving his own thoughts.

I think the new system of basing the Scout Picks on the most popular players from 4 suggested teams is a big improvement on the old one of them being too much influenced by Mark's own favourite players, and having one of those teams selected by our community champion helps to make us feel more involved.

The Scout Picks now tend to be pretty sensible selections for one game-week only, and it isn't as true as it used to be that the more of your players were in the Scout Picks the lower your score for that game-week was likely to be!

    ------------------------ Hart --------------------------
    --------- Olsson -- Vlaar -- Baines ------------
    Sanchez -- Shelvy -- Hazard -- Albrighton
    ------- Benteke -- Aguero -- Lukaku ----------

    Hart - Good CS Chance
Baines - CS Chance + Set Piece Duty
Vlaar - Will look for CS and a Potential Header Goal
Olsson - Newcastle not in the best of form
    Sanchez - Man in Form
    Hazard - Same as Above
Shelvy - Performs well against big teams.
Albrighton - Form + Leicester's Attacking mind set
    Benteke - Will Score
    Aguero - Will Score
    Lukaku - He's a Troll...Might score 3 or might score 0...Punt!

Been a while since I tried my luck at this, so here it goes :

    Ospina (SWA)
Baines (SUN) Koscielny (SWA) Kolarov (QPR) Terry (LIV)
Sanchez (SWA) Silva (QPR) Elmohamady (BUR)
Aguero (QPR) Benteke (WHM) Kane (sto)

    Total : 83.1

I've decided to triple up on Arsenal and City for both of their plump home fixtures.
As for the rest fo the team :
    - Elmohamady : strange choice, I know, but Hull badly need a win if they want to stay up, and with 2 assists in his last two games, Elmohamady could be the man to help them secure this win
    - Terry : I think Chelsea will stay resilient at the back, especially at home juste after being crowned
    - Benteke : simply unstoppable at the moment
    - Kane : even though he's been in a bit of a slump lately, he can still be deadly

love a big defence so have voted for this team, baines even without pens is having his best season for assists so i can see a 12 from him. kosc is a personal favourite, a poem inspiring hero of mine. kolarov is THE defender to have this gw, yeah he's not 100% nailed but he's certainly favourite to start in my eyes, and terry is the kingpin of the chelsea machine.

elmohamady has a shout for being best crosser in the league, i love great crossers in weak teams, beausejour was a bit of a hero too. and even though their promotion came at the expense of watford his little dance when they found out the good news made me lol. nice differential

    Myhill
    PvA Terry Clyne
    Hazard Ramsey Cazorla Boyd
    Giroud Benteke Aguero

Myhill - Good form & vs Newcastle
Pva - Sunderland trying to avoid relegation, should aim for a clean sheet against a weak Everon attack.
Terry - Chelsea at home, Mourinho's record against big clubs
Clyne - Should contain Leicester with Wanyama back.
Hazard - same as Terry , focal point of attack
Boyd - Last ditch bid to avoid relegation, involved in most attacks
    Aguero - In form
Benteke - In form, against a mid table side
Cazorla, Ramsey, Giroud - Against mid table Swansea side, in form arsenal attack, Cazorla (took plenty of shots vs Hull, might get a penalty) Ramsey (involved in most attacks, most likely to take shots after Arsenal's buildup play), Giroud (Strength and physicality should see him dominate the Swansea defence which is weak against an aerial threat)
I think Ars-Swa could be the major 6-0, 7-0 kind of thrashing that we are yet to see this season.

    No likey, No lighty.

    --------------------------Myhill-------------------------
    --------Coleman -- Kolarov -- Chester---------
    Sanchez -- Cazorla -- Silva -- Elmohamady
    ------------Aguero -- Gru -- Benteke ------------

    Total is 83.8m

Myhill - Newcastle are in disarray and so Myhill should be good for a cs or at least a few save points.
Coleman - His marauding runs and Baines lack of pens means Coleman is now the better choice. Everton have a good chance of a cs and attacking points are likely
Kolarov - Seems to have nailed down the left back role and is my flair player this week. Amazing delivery and the odd free-kick makes him a good choice in my mind. You have to buy a ticket....
Chester - Good chance of cs against goal shy Burnley. Poses a goal threat too!
Sanchez and Cazorla - Need no explanation if you watched the game last night. Ramsey's potential injury means I steer clear.
Silva - With Yaya out he is crucial to Man Citys success and looked much better this week in the hole
Elmohamady - My budget enabler. Has great delivery and should cause Burnley lots of problems. 2 assists in last two makes in a likely lad.
Aguero - Because its Aguero and they are playing QPR
Gru - Suprising not to get points last night. I expect him to bounce back this weekend against a Swansea team with nothing to play for
Benteke - The form player in the league up against a West Ham team who are hardly flowing at the moment. I am backing him to get at least a brace (I wish I had him in my actual team)

    Thanks and good luck!

you know arnie is in better form than your entire midfield barring alexis.
i probably wouldnt pick him either but i havent seen a single stoke game for ages so maybe am missing something. form + spurs not doing clean sheets + nice to not see the same 30 odd names shuffled into different combos = some logic to pick him

    Myhll [new]

    Koscielny [SWA] Baines, Jagielka [SUN]

Alexis, Ramsey [SWA] Silva [QPR] Adams [TOT]

Berahino [new] Aguero [QPR] Benteke [WHU]

    Most are obvious picks.
Double Everton defence,4 clean sheets in their last 4 hone games.
Adams is in form and scores most of his points at home.
Berahino is the only real punt but playing a Newcastle team shorn of defensive options.
Any votes or feedback greatly appreciated as this is my first ever attempt.

Been hanging around the site all year, and it's been a great ride with you all, but I've actually never given this a shot. So here goes...

    Myhill (new)
Stones (SUN) Bellerin (SWA) McShane (BUR)
Sanchez (SWA) Ramsey (SWA) Silva (QPR) Hazard (LIV)
Aguero (QPR) Benteke (WHU) Vardy (SOT)

    83.8m total

GK: Myhill (new) -- In good form, and more importantly Newcastle is a shambles right now.

DEF: Stones (SUN) -- Tons of quality affordable defenders this week. EFC's in superb home form, facing a still struggling Sunderland strike force (alliteration!), and Stones gets BPS.

DEF: Bellerin (SWA) -- Fears of his rotation are overblown. Bellerin's simply better than Chambers, offers CS potential against a might-as-well-be-strikerless Swans side, and always carries attacking potential.

DEF: McShane (BUR) -- It's home against Burnley, and you exploit that every single time. McShane, the DGW34 hero, is nailed and carries at least some goal threat.

MID: Sanchez (SWA) -- Not much to say about my MID picks, all are fairly obvious. Alexis is in superb form and should run circles around the Swans.

MID: Ramsey (SWA) -- All the reasons you'd start Alexis, except Rambo is in even better form. When he's going good, he's among the best in the BPL.

MID: Silva (QPR) -- Regaining his form, and Rangers will be going all out in a last stab at survival -- making their already woeful defense even less of a problem for the Spaniard and crew. Being at home only helps.

MID: Hazard (LIV) -- When Hazard is the riskiest of the MID picks, you know things are going good. I think Mourinho's too prideful to hand the game over to Rodgers and crew. The POTY is always at the heart of the champions' attack, and even if the campaign has started catching up to him, he always has pens.

FWD: Aguero (QPR) -- See Silva, David. Aguero is the obvious captain choice this week.

FWD: Benteke (WHU) -- Along with Rambo, the most in-form player in the BPL, at home, fighting for survival, facing a West Ham side that started preparing their vacation plans long, long ago. Should be consensus vice captain choice this week.

FWD: Vardy (SOT) -- Ulloa got the glory last week, but anyone who watched the game would tell you that Vardy is still in great form. The heart and soul of an inspired Leicester side, facing a Soton defense that's fallen apart on the road and still won't have Forster/Schneiderlin to bail them out.

Alright, well that was a good way to procrastinate here at work. Thanks!

We have a winner - Kings of Lyon. Well done and could you please email me your final XI based on any injury developments and 200 words explanation by 5pm Thursday jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

Unfortunately we had to disqualify second placed Auld MacFeckin Sgoil 42 after it emerged that John Terry's Dog had created a dual account to vote for him twice. As the article says - Any attempts to disrupt the voting process may lead to the team involved being removed at our discretion.

ah, should have scrolled all the way to the bottom before voting.

not sure i agree with someone being disqualified tbh, the vote rescinded certainly (and obviously). if there is proof that the team involved was part of it all then yeah of course, but there is always a chance it wasn't.
personally found this whole thing (is it like this every week?) a bit ridiculous, auld mcfecking why throw the toys out to this extent? maybe you and kol have history, i dont know but the whole page getting toyes sprayed over it doesnt look good.
another thing, this cricket tournament, hockey, whatever in the past. i personally find all the name changes really confusing and unnecessary.

    Arsenal DGW lottery:

Tight couple of games? Swans usually tight the back. A one-nil Walcott winner so all the mids miss out and a defender is the way forward?

Suppose a load of goals - who from the array of options? Are Jack and Theo due a run out?

Pick your ticket and get lucky....

I should have said I have my 3 Arsenal already for Swans and the DGW...but similar applies its still a real guess which 3 which was less of a problem with the Chelsea 3...
