The Weekend Team News

Jon Walters is a slight doubt for Stoke’s trip to Norwich. Andros Townsend is ruled out for Tottenham. Reece Oxford is doubtful for West Ham, Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko is struggling to be fit for the trip to United, whilst Garry Monk will make a late decision on the fitness of Ki Sung-yeung.

Mark Hughes has revealed that Jon Walters is a slight concern for the weekend with illness, though the attacker has returned to training. Hughes also commented on Bojan’s availability, suggesting that the Spaniard could be “involved in some capacity” against the Canaries.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Andros Townsend will miss the Leicester trip after suffering a minor ankle problem, having previously been sidelined by a shoulder injury.

Slaven Bilic will be without Mauro Zarate at the weekend, with the forward suffering a hamstring injury in training. Zarate revealed on his official twitter page that he expects to miss the Hammers’ next two matches. Reece Oxford is a doubt after missing a few days training with a niggle, according to the club’s official website. Adrian serves the first of a three-match ban after being sent off against Leicester last week.

Newcastle are sweating on the availability of Moussa Sissoko ahead of the weekend trip to Old Trafford. The midfielder came off in the loss to Swansea last week with a groin complaint and hopes to recover in time to be involved against Man United. Elsewhere Siem de Jong has returned to training for the Magpies, while Paul Dummett also joined in with the group as he steps up his recovery.

Leicester welcome back Mark Schwarzer, with the experienced stopper having recovered from illness after missing out last weekend. Christian Fuchs took a knock in training, but it is believed to be nothing serious and Claudio Ranieri expects the defender to train today and be in contention for the weekend.

Marouane Chamakh remains sidelined for Palace despite stepping up his recovery from a hamstring problem with a midweek run out for the reserves. Bakary Sako is set to be included in the squad for the visit of Villa.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Everton have picked up no new injuries ahead of the visit of City. Kevin Mirallas is now 100% fit – the Belgian was fielded as a sub last time out after being forced off with an ankle injury in the season opener with Watford.

Bournemouth’s Harry Arter could return to training next week, though manager Eddie Howe conceded he could be “some way off” a first-team comeback.

Ki Sung-yeung has returned to training after stepping up his recovery from a hamstring injury. Garry Monk has confirmed he will make a final decision on the Korean’s fitness after today’s training session.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Any player who ditches the team that brought him from school boy to pro for their Bundesliga and CL rivals (at the time) must draw some serious questions about his attitude.

I was disappointed as well, but every time he goes to the media to whinge about his current role at Bayern, I can't deny the gratification it brings 😉

**Lost on the bottom of the previous page**

Gents, what's the general consensus on who's going up and down tomorrow?? I have been trying to play the market to make some $$ on this WC and it's been damn tough to predict.

I read somewhere on here i think a few days ago that the WC transfers ins and outs did not affect players price movements? Is that true? Guess it would make sense seeing Rooney/Haz/Mane and the likes have not dropped!

So list who you think is going up/down... gogogogogo 🙂

      It's anyone's guess, really!

McCarthy, Silva and Gomis are the candidates for a price rise, whilst Yaya, Aguero and Kompany might get a double rise - Yaya being the most likely. That's it, I think.

As for the fallers, the most notable players with a chance of dropping are Mane, Francis, Pantilimon, Milner and Ivanovic.

I wouldn't base your team around these risers/fallers though - have a contingency plan in case nothing happens, as it's difficult to be sure at this point.

I feel ya... Im just waiting until the last price update to see if i can make any money out of them. Was hoping Barkley and Lukaku may have gone up so i could have sold for a .1 profit but i wasn't sure if they were going to go up again.

I don't think it's at all likely, I'm afraid. You can always keep them until tomorrow morning just in case, then set your team up from there.

            That's the plan Ludo! 🙂

I'll just have to resign to the fact they wont be going up then, pity though it would have been nice to get something out of them

So it's true that the prices are not affected by people activating their WC's?

Francis has barely 20.000 transfers out, so he is not dropping. I have no idea why the price websites has said for several days that he will fall.

Actually, if that was Net Transfers Out, that would be approaching double what he should have needed for a price drop.

Some guy on twitter who has been very accurate with recent transfer activity.

I think it will happen by the end of the window.

All betting sites have slashed the odds as well with many offering odds-on.

he is correct but I would suggest it is only to get rid of the obvious ones as in a Walcott to yaya, hendo could be back in a week and still able to offer you the points you would expect from him.

My mate (a posh public school kid) went to Chile with his Chilean mate when he finished university in 2002 to introduce fantasy football to the country. The idea went bust before it got going, but he still lives there and updates facebook in Spanish, has little Chilean kids etc - all very weird.

Running your own FFL competition is very unlikely indeed to earn you a living. I used to run a competition that was quite successful that raised a couple of hundred of quid a year for my cricket club, but it is very unlikely you are going to do well enough on your own for it to be a "job".

Best bet would be to get a job with the PL working on FPL - I imagine any career opportunities would come up as any other career opportunity would, but I would guess the jobs would be in humungous demand so your chances would be very slim indeed

Hey, guys! First post of the season for me after the terrible start. I'm on my WC and I'm toying with the idea of 3-5-2. I made two teams and I need your help choosing one.

    Team A:
    Butland - (Mccarthy)
    Shaw - Kolarov - Williams - (Richards - Francis)
    Yaya - Depay - Sanchez - Payet - Mahrez
    Aguero - Gomis (Ighalo)

    Team B:
    Butland - (Mccarthy)
    Shaw - Kolarov - Williams - (Richards - Francis)
    Silva - Depay - Sanchez - Mahrez - (Westwood)
    Aguero - Gomis - Sakho

Basically the only differences are Yaya + Payet vs Silva + Sakho. Thanks in advance!

I'm filling in the final three spots of my team, which is currently:

    Schmeichel Butland
    Kompany Williams Gomez Ward Richards
    Silva Payet Mahrez ??? ???
    Agüero Gomis ???

After that I have three options that I have come up with to fill the final spots.

    1. Sanchez, Diouf and Hoolahan. This option is to accommodate Sanchez but leaves the other two players as slightly weak.

    2. Ramsey, Benteke and Redmond. This spreads the funds better and leaves more room for flexibility for later transfers. It does assume Ramsey can give Sanchez a challenge as an alternative.

    3. Ramsey, Depay and Deeney. Weak in the forward line but stronger midfield.

Which option would you prefer? Any other changes worth considering? All comments and opinions most welcome.

You get more 6 or 7 pointers with the mids.
Hit and miss with forwards. 2 pts or 15 pts.

You dont think Benteke and Redmond over Diouf and Hoolahan is worth having Ramsey over Sanchez?

Is it possible to recover from a shaky start, money-wise?

My team value has dropped below 100 for the first time I remember since playing FPL seriously. I made my transfers early to get the Aguero rise and then had to watch the likes of Hazard/Coates drop.

    It's only 1 point below 100, but I'm worried it's a slippery slope.

If you think your team will score well then there's every chance they start going back up. Wouldn't worry about it too much right now

Yes, of course it's possible to recover, especially if you make smart moves to get players who are going to improve and will lead to price increases. Also, Hazard's price has not dropped.

if you are gonna be worried about a 0.1 drop every week then your season is all but over 🙂 ..
Just kidding. Do not fret about a 0.1 loss!

Do you guys think that Lukaku and Yaya will outscore Hazard and Ighalo? Up until the next transfer window that is.

    Yo,

    Mahrez and Gomis
    OR
    Montero and Diouf

First is safer and much more popular, but boring, whilst second is 2 differentials with huge potential imo.

    Cheers.

I’m really struggling with this decision and I don’t know why…

Silva Payet Gomis + 0.5 i would probably use to trade Muniesa to Williams
    or
    Hazard Ayew Sakho

    Remaining team:
    McCarthy (Myhill)
    Darmian Kolarov Muniesa (Gomez Richards)
    XXXX Sanchez Chadli XXXX Mahrez
    Aguero XXXX Ighalo

Please help – I actually prefer Ayew to Gomis for some reason and Im worried about Hazard but the triple City seems like where most people are going – Williams at tahe back makes for a very strong defense aswell- What do you reckon clever people?
