Time to bring in Ozil for tasty fixtures and form. Ship KDB or Payet?

  2. When will Aguero start getting in the points again?

How long does it take Aguero to score following an injury?

This is some quick data I've pulled from transmarkt.ie. The numbers at the end in brackets are the minutes played in each match until he scored. For example if it was 2nd game after being back from injury that he scored then the second number would be the game he scored in. Only prem matches taken into account!

    12/13

Out for 3 games (knee) - Scored in 2nd game back (85, 90)

    Out for 1 game (hamstring) - Scored in 3rd game back (9, 90, 90)

Out for 2 games (knee) - Scored in 2nd game back (19, 19)

    13/14

Out for 1 game (Minor injury) - Scored in first game back (79)

Out for 5 games (calf) - Scored in first game back (28)

    Out for 8 games (various) - Scored in 3rd game back (22, 57, 64)

    14/15

    Out for 5 games (ligament) - Scored in 5th game back (23, 90, 84, 90, 73)

Not sure if this data helps in any way really but I know a lot are pondering staying clear and perhaps they'll be right. Will be interesting to see.

Personally I'll be looking to bring him back in almost straight away - he doesn't tend to take long to start firing and as someone who hasn't had Vardy in their team all season I'd like a differential - 2 FTs and plenty of cash in the bank, should be easy enough to get him in. Hardest choice is who leaves.

60 minutes only twice on first game back is worrying. Although I hope Bonys injury might force Pellegrinis hand.

    4. Pochecinno
      10 years, 12 months ago

      Thanks again Andy.

We also have to bear in mind, those seasons they also had Negredo/Balotelli, Dzeko, Jovetic. Now there is only an injured Bony and a rookie in Iheanacho.

If his recovery goes well he should play the first game back.

    5. Champione

Aguero or Kane for the next few weeks?

    6. Yank Revolution
      10 years, 12 months ago

So 2 out of 7, scored first game back. Longest streak was 3 (twice) and 5 games.

If this doesn't scream avoid Kun in for one game week he plays at least, I don't know what doesn't.

      1. Donkey_Sanctuary
        10 years, 12 months ago

This is where I am too. As soon as he scores and is playing regularly I'll get him back for sure but until then I'd rather stick with others who are playing 90 mins week in week out and in form. The only risk with this is missing out on a big haul but I think that's unlikely. He'll probably get a few goals under his belt before banging in his next hattrick.

I'm selling his replacement Pelle and have the exact cash (4.7m) for a one transfer swoop. Makes sense to run with Pelle vs Stoke though first.

Controversial but thinking of bringing in Lingard for M'Villa as 5th midfield as insurance in case Payet doesn't play, and freeing up 0.5. Thoughts?

    Butland
    Kompany VVD Moreno
    Payet Sanchez KdB Mahrez
    Vardy Lukaku Pelle
    (M'Villa, Richards, Hennessy)

Yep why not. Sure he could be rotated if his form drops, but he's a 5th midfielder who you could play and will have a better chance of returns compared to the other spuds we all have.

I like to be price aggressive and this is the part of my game I findest difficult to curb.

    But curb I will.

Jumping the gun on Ozils price would be without regard for forward Aguero planning. So I need to look at all the options and have the Payet, Bellerin, Vardy info.

They'd better- that is ONE pricey MF/F combo...about as high as it can get. A Goal or assist from each will be mandatory at that layout, every week (or 2 G or A in one week, a blank the next).

      1. Champione
        10 years, 12 months ago

or 5 goals from Kun and 1 goal and 2 assists from KDB. That works

totally agree with you. Something has been missing for the last few matches. Maybe it's just the lack of Silva's creativity, but I'm not sure. Also I can see Liverpool really doing a great game at Etihad. Likely to be a match with lots of goal imo

Keep KDB. Since his first game he has always been involved in a goal (in the premier league) every time city score. The only games he has blanked are the two games city didn't score.

Sanchez is more explosive than Ozil but Ozil consistent returns will balance out Sanchez's big hauls. Since gw 7 sanchez has scored 53 points (20, 16, 10, 2, 3, 2). In that same period Ozil has.......you guessed it 53 points (5, 13, 12, 5, 10, 8).

Aguero and Silva will be back soon, perhaps even as early as next gw so KDB will only start returning more.

This, one poor showing at Watford doesn't equate to 'running out of steam'.

          They know not the Song

One Song to rule them all, one Song to find them with a thru ball,
One Song to bring them goals and in the winning bind them.

Well played Brazil in our friendly today, the Seychelles were clearly quite lethargic today in their final warm up match before the big tournament. Worryingly, I was our third best player in the squad on 37 points!

KDB's been very poor since I've brought him in, but then again have Sanchez, Mahrez, Mane or Payet done any better? Not sure.

I'd love to WC my whole midfield but keeping for DGW's..

    1. Sharkytect
      10 years, 12 months ago

Yeah what is the midfield of choice right now? I've had payet since gw1, and KDB since he turned up, but neither have performed for a while. Can't think who to ship them out for, though

      1. BrockLanders

When would we expect to hear about any possible ban for Vardy ?....

Given that he's hardy covered himself in glory for his behaviour in the past I have a feeling he may be on for more than a single match ban....Plus....if I remember right other players have served bans for that gesture, but how long did they get banned for?

    1. andy85wsm

Confirmation would be end of next week I guess. They'd have to charge him first then he'd get a chance to appeal etc etc

    2. Sharkytect
      10 years, 12 months ago

The "finger" gesture.....I'm sure I remember a previous ban for somebody for doing that....If so then it's hard to see how they can't do the same as previously....

          Wilshere from memory

    3. Swanremainsthesame

So the FA are going to start banning players who swear at the officials or disagree with them are they. That's going to be an awful lot of empty pitches for the next few weeks then.
Usually they announce this sort of drastic change pre season to warn everyone.

Pellegrini always tends to ease him back in after a lay-off. Plus, Lukaku's price is rising tonight...

  24. JoJoRed

So Bony to Lukaku or Bony to Costa or wait and see if Aguero will be back.
Presume Bony will be dropping in price as I'm waiting and wondering
