        IMO, yes.

        - More injury prone than Aguero
        - Was practically guaranteed to not start having started vs Southampton
        - Takes one of 3 valuable striker spots while there are at least 4 other options who are far better.

I think buying a player for over £10m whose body literally won't stop breaking down since the 13/14 season is idiotic yes. And it's not just one injury he's done in the past 14 months it's everything - hip, knee, foot, ankle, hamstring, muscles, calf - everything.

And then buying him on the back of a c1c match expecting him to A. To start 2 matches in 4 days and B. Not to get injured within 2-3 weeks (2-3 days as it turned out)

Yes. I don't understand why people would get him soon after the cup game. They should have waited till this week because there is no chance he will start 2 games within a week considered he is injury prone.

Think I suggested Wanyama > Alli for you yesterday.

If Cout doesn't make this weekend he will surely be very close to a return and looks like he will be Liverpool's best attacking asset to own going forward so Alli all the way imo. 5m, good side, CAM, and you should beef up the fringe players ahead of Xmas anyway imo.

          Ah, no worries 🙂

Bloody jobs. Always getting in the way of fantasy football...

I am tempted to get in Alli myself for a nice differential, but that would mean benching Barkley, so I'll likely hold off. Norwich are solid though and I do think we could see Spurs put a few past Newc so I remain tempted...

My only issue with getting Alli actually is that i'm unsure about tripling up on Spurs. Rose and Kane already.
Yea I think Spurs will definitely put a few past them.

Will wait for more news on Cout and decide from there.

Yeah, tripling always makes you feel a bit vulnerable. A 1-0 defeats leaves you score in tatters. I would be tripling too fwiw

I don't understand all the Haz hate/mockery tbh..

So he blanked? Players blank. This just in, they are not robots. He's an established and well known quantity, both in real life and in Fantasy.

So Chelsea haven't been the same as last year. Still looked better more recently and had 4 solid fixtures coming up that they needed to present form in.

Vs Bournemouth: He had 2 shots on target and created 5 chances. 4 games before that he created 10 chances.

This was a punt, yes, but I've seen far dumber ones take fire on FFS both this season and in the past 2 (since I started seriously).

And honestly only poor managers buy players for 1-week punts that don't end in wildcards.

Unless you have 2 FTs and use only one of them on the punt it sounds like a waste. But I do know some are far more prone to hits than others.

There are many ways to play this game, oddly enough, limiting yourself to absolutes like that are naive IMO. Mark & Jonty both have had great success as managers with the former being more prone to hits & the odd maverick captaincy decision (as he implied as much on the scoutcast). While the latter is the quintessential dullard who is rarely on taking hits & will play the percentage game more often.

To say a wide-sweeping statement like "only poor managers buy players for 1-week punts that don't end in wildcards" is one of the most naive things I've heard on here tbh

In the very little experience I have, I learned that in most scenarios someone with little to no form/stats which have good fixtures, turn out to be fools gold (With the exception of Kane who had great underlying stats.

That being said, this game would be no fun if we didn't take risks and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. It's just how the cookie crumbles I guess.

But for me, the most points are to be gained by getting players ahead of their hauls. He's a great player who has been on the up in form in a team that has slowly started to show more form.

Game is not linear, so starting to show form is a fallacy. No player improves or declines incrementally. LIV was starting to show form before NEW.

IMHO getting players ahead of their hauls is 90% luck, 10% underlying stats.

Up and down form. Improvements are usually due to technique training in the off season.

Due to off season improvements Lukaku is now a 9m player. Whether his form, confidence, team formation, fixtures have him playing at 8.5 or 9.5 is the question.

This is why this season has been so unpredictable. There was always a strong case for fixtures regardless of form. This year even home or away fixtures seem to have no bearing!

Also going into this game Bournemouth were conceding a goal for every THREE chances they conceded which is an INSANELY poor defensive stat.

these City mids are pretty inconsistent eh?
One game Silva puts in an average performance and the next he's the best on the pitch.
One week KDB goes from being the most dangerous on the pitch to not getting a single shot.

Aye, like in the earlier part of the season, they all have their moments. Sterling in particular, will blank consecutively & netted his brace today & his hattie GW9 both Agüero was out. Silva's played great vs Hull as well

Last week I was able to get 74 points

I havent don't no changes yet but as it stands I might change 2 or one player

Da Gea starts ( Gomez Bench)
Smalling Bellerin Alderweireld ( Bench is Moreno, Cederic) Might start Moreno since Smalling is hurt
Ozil( Captain) Silva DeBruyne Mahrez Willian( Want to sell Willian for Ramsey or Coutinho if fit
Lukaku, Ighalo ( Vardy bench because prefer 352 and I think Ighalo have better chance to score on Norwich than Vardy on Chelsea though Chelsea sucks...

352 is what I want to go with or I can save my Transfer and play 343 and bench Willian... but I really want to see RAMSEY in my squad with Coutinho if fit

    1. Captain Peacock
      • 12 Years

I don't like benching Vardy. He can score at any time. If you must have Rambo or Cuteinho, keep in mind that Watford score a lot more at home than away.

        • 10 Years

But Watford plays Sunderland thats why I have Ighalo who plays away..... but its hard to bench that guy.. he is fast and always on target his shot accuracy...... He has more chance scoring than VARDY this week... tuff decision ... might stick with the 343 and bench Willian

    Hey DZ,

    My front 8 is

    KDB, Ozil, Ramsey, Mahrez, Alli
    Kun, Lukaku, Vardy

Although Kun is probably not playing this weekend, should I bother taking a hit for Kane or just start Alli?

bring in Kane, although he didn't look great against West Brom (played far too deep). He's unpredicatable as he shoots on sight. You don't want to miss out on a brace from him.

There's a good point. Kane has good stats. But I haven't forgotten that he's gone missing for a big stretch already this season.

In the period he didn't score goals, he was getting his shots in, many on target, he just didn't score. In the last two games, he hasn't got his shots in and I've noticed he's not making runs into the box, as a striker you need to do that. He looks tired IMO.

Smalling if you can afford him, he's worth having as he'll pay you back in points over the season. Last season Terry, Ivan many of us had, so can't see why people are reluctant to bring in Smalling?

    Hennessey Ward Simpson Aguero

Playing king against United may not be so bad now considering their defensive injuries, only if Aguero is definitely out of course.

Following Klopp's quotes saying he could field the same team he did in EL as it's plenty days of rest, & Sturridge's injury mentality, gave some hits that he'd star vs Newcastle. I don't think any fans from what I gathered on forums predicted that line-up, most were in agreement he's play as he got off at '54 in the EL.

Pretty easy to say he wouldn't have started now, it was a 50/50 call from the start. A high-risk, high-reward considering Pool were going into the Pool match being top 3 in nearly all important attacking stats these last four, in SitB, SoT, BC, CC, etc. Playing the worst defense in the league with stats in the opposite end of the spectrum. Surely no one could have predicted the loss vs Newcastle, or make a valid hypotheses that Sturridge would get re-injured?

I'll admit it was a rash move putting the armband on him & it was probably a knee-jerk seeing as Aguero's injury news came Friday & didn't give it a proper analysis. It was probably heavily biased on my mentality to hit a higher rank quickly regarding the armband. Sturridge's high goal scoring record per game, pedigree & performance did me in.

Moving on, live & let die 😉

    Mane > Silva

Seems like a good move since I downgraded Sanchez to Ozil. What do you think?

Yeah, don't let a double up put you off. Although I do prefer Ramsey over Silva.

No way...? Ramsey is way more injury prone than Silva. Why Ramsey? How'd he look last week

He was excellent, both from a visual and stats perspective. Back in his favoured position now.

Everyone jizzing about Ramsey after one good game in the pivot, reminiscent of 2013. If he was that good why does Wenger play Cazorla ahead of him when fit?

Cazorla is one of Arsenal's most important players and Wenger would be silly to shift him from that central position. Ramsey's versatility is one of the reasons why he's played on the right recently as well as the fact that they've had a few injuries in that position.

Ramsey got his best goals streak playing in the AM position in a different formation to what we've seen since last season. They have Sanchez now who changes the formation with Ozil taking the AM role.

When Ozil eyes gets injured, Ramsey moves into that role and you'll see my point.

Depends. City has been off form in the PL. Somehow UCL form does not translate.

If Agüero is confirmed out would Bony (C) be a good punt for this week?

You have Kane, who's better captain option. At home against not so solid Newcastle defence.

They allowed Liverpool only one shot on goal for the entire game.

liverpool missed a decent striker, don't forget Benteke missed from two yards out, different game if that goal goes in.

Does Bony start though? He was on the bench tonight with Sterling up top who did pretty well. Im keeping kun and playing 5 mids.

Already have kane and Lukaku, same as you the only option grabbing me is getting in Bony and swapping back to kun when fit. Does Bony start though...

I wouldn't tbh, apart from his impact substitution (which arguably changed the tides in City's favor), he's been very poor in the PL in Agüero's absence.
