We delve into the members’ data tonight and assess some of the key statistics from the Gameweek gone by. Stoke and Leicester’s weekend goal heroes arrive on our radar, whilst we also analyse Chelsea’s lack of end product, Aaron Ramsey’s central midfield display and the relentless displays of Watford’s top scorer.
May have to get Silva in.
For?
Bolasie probably.
Nice move then
Bolasie was close to a rise last night. I don't know if that will make a difference to your sale value.
No difference.
Bolasie will score this gw
Not getting Mahrez TM?
Rival got Silva I think.
😉
He's a jolly good fellow?
Just got KDB in over him. More goal threat IMO.
Hopefully Silva is the assister. So no Kun and/or KdB?
Have KDB
So not getting Kun in eventually or triple up with Silva, Kun, KdB?
Kun is too far away for me atm.
Kun is really not that fit.... so he is a gamble... KDB is better but sometimes he can be lost in games smh ... is tuff but will go with Kevin
So what defenders do United have left?
Valero or whatever he is called and maybe mcnairLots of failed strikers have found a career at full back... So maybe Rooney!
Rooney blind fellani McNair
Quality back line*shudders, followed by uncontrollable laughter*
What a mess.
Varella McNair Blind Young vs. bou
*considers getting King in for a hitPoor old LvGaaf, he'll need another quarter billion to shore up his defence and find a forward. Apart from that he's doing fine. 🙂
Tadic out for...? Money is not an issue.
My other 4 mids consist of Deulofeu, Özil, Mahrez & De Bruyne.Wjinaldum
This ... great call!
Any new UTD or CTY injuries from last night?
Darmian and Smalling
Smalling and Darmian
Thanks lads
Sturridge injured again surprise surprise
Has to be the most idiotic bandwagon on here this seasonHazard says hi
He is playing bad
No he isn't.
The Player of the Year and penalty taker for the champions who rarely gets injured? I wouldn't call that one idiotic
Who are currently playing the worst they've ever played.
It's idiotic when you have so many other options for much cheaper. No goals in 25 matches and 10.9m
Nonsense.
So you think getting a striker who is as good as Aguero in terms of goals per games and is also 2.9 cheap is idiotic? Ok.
IMO, yes.
- More injury prone than Aguero
- Was practically guaranteed to not start having started vs Southampton
- Takes one of 3 valuable striker spots while there are at least 4 other options who are far better. We don't want fit players,we want points. And it's not idiotic to get a player who gets goals.
So you bought a 10.2m striker for what would be his 2nd PL appearance in 2 months knowing there that any points you'd get would have to come in his 20 minute sub appearance?
He gets goals whenever he plays. And his injuries are impossible to predict so if someone thought he might go on a run,I cant blame them.
Expensive gamble.
I think buying a player for over £10m whose body literally won't stop breaking down since the 13/14 season is idiotic yes. And it's not just one injury he's done in the past 14 months it's everything - hip, knee, foot, ankle, hamstring, muscles, calf - everything.
And then buying him on the back of a c1c match expecting him to A. To start 2 matches in 4 days and B. Not to get injured within 2-3 weeks (2-3 days as it turned out)Yes. I don't understand why people would get him soon after the cup game. They should have waited till this week because there is no chance he will start 2 games within a week considered he is injury prone.
Yeughhhh... Just seen your username. 🙂
Was hardly a bandwagon. Like 4 people had him.
Williams, VVD, Hazard, Moreno say hi
Ehh Moreno. Explain
1p magnet
You will never keep CS with Lovren and Moreno in your team, both cannt defendHe's still a good option through the Christmas period IMO. Nice underlying stats and good for bonus as well.
Martial too
Another good example
idk, Van Dijk gave me 6 and 8 points in his first two weeks in my team 😉
and Hazard had a great shot vs Bournemouth, created 5 chances and could still pay off in his next 3 desirable fixtures.VVD is great to have..
Getting a player in after a few sub appearance with his injury record was a little foolhardy to be honest.
kinda like Ramsey...
Darmian -> Rose is a good transfer right? Rose is 100 % nailed?
Allowes me to do Hazard, Ighalo -> Aguero, Ramsey next week.I'm thinking of either zouma or VVD > Rose. He is great player and should be nailed... but you never know
Yes, attacking threat and playes for a defensiv good team, with excellent fixtures so i think it is a good move!
If you're doing hazard > ramsey and it won't be for free anyway then why even wait?
So long as he comes through tonight's game ok you may as well do it. Hazard doesn't score points and avl is a decent fixture
@ Jape - well done on the Team Singapore win over us
😉
Hopefully we'll continue this run! Did you see our benched points?I know... 86-pointer benched. Well if I hadn't benched Mahrez it would be a lot closer. New Zealand up next for us.
Yea definitely. A lot of people made that mistake it seems.
I'm sure you guys will pull it back
So if Coutinho is still injured by the weekend is it worth shipping him out for either Silva/Ramsey or should I upgrade Wanyama to Alli/Ramsey/Theo/Arnautovic?
Depends on rest of the team and your Kun plan, but I would be tempted with a Wanyama upgrade over X-mas period.
I don't actually have a Kun plan.
Think i'm going to go without him until Jan.
Think I suggested Wanyama > Alli for you yesterday.
If Cout doesn't make this weekend he will surely be very close to a return and looks like he will be Liverpool's best attacking asset to own going forward so Alli all the way imo. 5m, good side, CAM, and you should beef up the fringe players ahead of Xmas anyway imo.You certainly did. I had replied, but got caught up at work so the reply was like 50 mins later.
Wanyama > Alli is definitely looking like the best option at the minute I agree.Ah, no worries 🙂
Bloody jobs. Always getting in the way of fantasy football...
I am tempted to get in Alli myself for a nice differential, but that would mean benching Barkley, so I'll likely hold off. Norwich are solid though and I do think we could see Spurs put a few past Newc so I remain tempted...I know right! Who needs em..
My only issue with getting Alli actually is that i'm unsure about tripling up on Spurs. Rose and Kane already.
Yea I think Spurs will definitely put a few past them.
Will wait for more news on Cout and decide from there.Sounds like a plan.
Yeah, tripling always makes you feel a bit vulnerable. A 1-0 defeats leaves you score in tatters. I would be tripling too fwiwOk cheers for the help man 🙂
Hey, it's good to chew it over 🙂
What are Coutinho owners doing? Waiting for news I guess or anyone got rid already?
Waiting for news.
If it's bad then I'll get rid I think.
If it's a couple of weeks then I think i'll keep him.
I don't understand all the Haz hate/mockery tbh..
So he blanked? Players blank. This just in, they are not robots. He's an established and well known quantity, both in real life and in Fantasy.
So Chelsea haven't been the same as last year. Still looked better more recently and had 4 solid fixtures coming up that they needed to present form in.
Vs Bournemouth: He had 2 shots on target and created 5 chances. 4 games before that he created 10 chances.
This was a punt, yes, but I've seen far dumber ones take fire on FFS both this season and in the past 2 (since I started seriously).
And honestly only poor managers buy players for 1-week punts that don't end in wildcards."And honestly only poor managers buy players for 1-week punts that don't end in wildcards."
That's blasphemous I'm afraidUnless you have 2 FTs and use only one of them on the punt it sounds like a waste. But I do know some are far more prone to hits than others.
There are many ways to play this game, oddly enough, limiting yourself to absolutes like that are naive IMO. Mark & Jonty both have had great success as managers with the former being more prone to hits & the odd maverick captaincy decision (as he implied as much on the scoutcast). While the latter is the quintessential dullard who is rarely on taking hits & will play the percentage game more often.
To say a wide-sweeping statement like "only poor managers buy players for 1-week punts that don't end in wildcards" is one of the most naive things I've heard on here tbhFair enough, maybe I was off-base there but I still that the majority of people who do that are just points-chaser kneejerkers more than anything.
In the very little experience I have, I learned that in most scenarios someone with little to no form/stats which have good fixtures, turn out to be fools gold (With the exception of Kane who had great underlying stats.
That being said, this game would be no fun if we didn't take risks and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. It's just how the cookie crumbles I guess. But for me, the most points are to be gained by getting players ahead of their hauls. He's a great player who has been on the up in form in a team that has slowly started to show more form.
I 100% agree which is why I bought Kane before his hat trick @BOU.
Those are very hard to get right though and could be very frustrating if you are constantly getting it wrong. Also going into this game Bournemouth were conceding a goal for every THREE chances they conceded which is an INSANELY poor defensive stat.
Yep, Chelsea are an anomaly this season. Thanks Mou
Game is not linear, so starting to show form is a fallacy. No player improves or declines incrementally. LIV was starting to show form before NEW.
IMHO getting players ahead of their hauls is 90% luck, 10% underlying stats. So how does a player go from in form to out of form or vice versa?
What do you mean mate?
if no player improves or declines incremental how do they improve or decline at all?Up and down form. Improvements are usually due to technique training in the off season.
Sorry but this is guff.
Due to off season improvements Lukaku is now a 9m player. Whether his form, confidence, team formation, fixtures have him playing at 8.5 or 9.5 is the question.
This is why this season has been so unpredictable. There was always a strong case for fixtures regardless of form. This year even home or away fixtures seem to have no bearing!
Also going into this game Bournemouth were conceding a goal for every THREE chances they conceded which is an INSANELY poor defensive stat.
Mané's getting one last go in my team.
Anyone on here still own him?I do because I know how explosive he can be.. dropping him isn't easy
Last chance this weekend.

Mane, Zouma or VVD > Rose, Silva or Coutinho??

hulk
Lots of great info here. Good job.
Cheers, AB 🙂
Cheers Zasa.
these City mids are pretty inconsistent eh?
One game Silva puts in an average performance and the next he's the best on the pitch.
One week KDB goes from being the most dangerous on the pitch to not getting a single shot.Aye, like in the earlier part of the season, they all have their moments. Sterling in particular, will blank consecutively & netted his brace today & his hattie GW9 both Agüero was out. Silva's played great vs Hull as well
Hopefully KDB bounces back soon. Sterling with some eye-popping statistics there
It was his Birthday 😉
You are my favourite poster. 🙂
😯 Ha, thanks mate!
Looking like I should perhaps sell Toure now! Not sure it's worth a -4 though, especially if Agüero is still out on the weekend as he'd be first in line for penalties!
KDB involved in 0 goals (from a fantasy perspective)
Jot it down
Does anyone else actively avoid this site after a bad gameweek? This is my first post after a shocking (non-Mahrez) GW and a very big red arrow...
I had a pretty crap week too.
Haven't been on a lot but that's not the reason why.Yeah, for a couple of days, then I can't keep away and swallow the disappointment.
same here, sometimes, need a break from it. Can be overkill.
Yeah same here. Sunday and Monday I was AWOL
I'm more likely to just not log into the fpl site to avoid seeing OR change and actually points scored.
Because yanno, if I can't see it it didn't happen! 😀
Last week I was able to get 74 points
I havent don't no changes yet but as it stands I might change 2 or one player
Da Gea starts ( Gomez Bench)
Smalling Bellerin Alderweireld ( Bench is Moreno, Cederic) Might start Moreno since Smalling is hurt
Ozil( Captain) Silva DeBruyne Mahrez Willian( Want to sell Willian for Ramsey or Coutinho if fit
Lukaku, Ighalo ( Vardy bench because prefer 352 and I think Ighalo have better chance to score on Norwich than Vardy on Chelsea though Chelsea sucks...
352 is what I want to go with or I can save my Transfer and play 343 and bench Willian... but I really want to see RAMSEY in my squad with Coutinho if fitI don't like benching Vardy. He can score at any time. If you must have Rambo or Cuteinho, keep in mind that Watford score a lot more at home than away.
But Watford plays Sunderland thats why I have Ighalo who plays away..... but its hard to bench that guy.. he is fast and always on target his shot accuracy...... He has more chance scoring than VARDY this week... tuff decision ... might stick with the 343 and bench Willian
Hey DZ,
My front 8 is
KDB, Ozil, Ramsey, Mahrez, Alli
Kun, Lukaku, Vardy
Although Kun is probably not playing this weekend, should I bother taking a hit for Kane or just start Alli?I would play Alli if he is rested in the Europa game.
bring in Kane, although he didn't look great against West Brom (played far too deep). He's unpredicatable as he shoots on sight. You don't want to miss out on a brace from him.
There's a good point. Kane has good stats. But I haven't forgotten that he's gone missing for a big stretch already this season.
In the period he didn't score goals, he was getting his shots in, many on target, he just didn't score. In the last two games, he hasn't got his shots in and I've noticed he's not making runs into the box, as a striker you need to do that. He looks tired IMO.
Hmm was looking at a Man U defender this week. That doesn't seem so sensible now. Which defence would you go to next?
Spurs & West Brom for sure imo, Cheese.
Ironically West Brom was one of the defenders I was considering selling
😯 They're top two of the ticker for CS's come Gw17. Goldmine of CS's there potentially imo, especially considering Pulis' defense are notorious defensive flat-track bullies
(BOU, swa, NEW, STK, che, sou, AVL, SWA, new). Think I'd hold steady, mate.
Smalling if you can afford him, he's worth having as he'll pay you back in points over the season. Last season Terry, Ivan many of us had, so can't see why people are reluctant to bring in Smalling?
Smalling is nice i had him all season and United defends is really good in the league... but he is a doubt this week so will go with Bellerin , Alderweierd , Moreno those 3 is a must ...
Just wait until the friday pressers to find out about him.
True thats what I am doing....
Same here.
Janmaat 😉
Only Spurs and Stoke imo
That's it. GSW win again. Impressive game
LOL this is Football fantasy lol
calm down new guy 😉 ain't no footie on TV right now
27 in a row and 23:0 starting the season. WOW
Curry is killing it
Beer?
Man Utd still have De Gea. Who carries a good majority of the defensive weight. I think they should be able to hold off bournemouth
Any Willian owners in here? Twist or stick?
Butland
Koscielny Alderweireld Moreno
Mahrez Ozil Mane Barkley King
Kane(c) Lukaku
Hennessey Ward Simpson Aguero
1ft 1.6itb
Playing king against United may not be so bad now considering their defensive injuries, only if Aguero is definitely out of course.
Thinking of saving and giving Mane one more week. Also gives time to look at Ramsey/Walcott/Coutinho as my replacements.Speaking of bandwagons. Ryan Shawcross. You heard it here first!
has a goal or two in him.
Its great owning him, my favourite part was when he got a red and -3! Great fun 🙂
Good option
This guy is an absolute joke 😆 😆 😆
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yeNXzaqLA4Hilarious. Just gets better as it goes on!
Just saw Mane run of pts. WOW. And I wonder why I am getting reds. Mahrez is "killing it"in mean time.
Mane pts: 2, 4, 3, 2, 1, 5, 2.
And the fixtures were awweeeesomeeeof course he will start firing against the tougher teams
Stinking up my team too
Bedtime for Bonzo.
I'm off 🙂Night, Gnu. You've drawn me to Tom now btw 😉
Sad news about Sturridge. I'm obviously disappointed as an owner but I knew the risks of getting him in, sometimes punts just don't work out!
Hey Inssie who are you replacing him with? I am having difficulty selecting a player.
It's probably time for me to stop taking so many punts. Going to play safe and get Lukaku in at long last.
I've got him and Kane already. So I'm stuck.
Made the same error with Aguero. Holding on and hoping he is fit soon. Guy is made of glass.
I punted on Sturridge before his last injury. I'm surprised ppl went for him
I don't regret it. He's one of the few players with massive upside, it was a high-risk high-reward situation that unfortunately didn't go my way.
he definitely will always have major upside. he always looks threatening when he is healthy
His hamstring looks even more threatening when he is healthy...
Sturridge is a complete joke. He's dead to me, and should be to you as well mate.
Yep, he is now!
This, that's all it comes down to really. Following Klopp's quotes saying he could field the same team he did in EL as it's plenty days of rest, & Sturridge's injury mentality, gave some hits that he'd star vs Newcastle. I don't think any fans from what I gathered on forums predicted that line-up, most were in agreement he's play as he got off at '54 in the EL.
Pretty easy to say he wouldn't have started now, it was a 50/50 call from the start. A high-risk, high-reward considering Pool were going into the Pool match being top 3 in nearly all important attacking stats these last four, in SitB, SoT, BC, CC, etc. Playing the worst defense in the league with stats in the opposite end of the spectrum. Surely no one could have predicted the loss vs Newcastle, or make a valid hypotheses that Sturridge would get re-injured?
I'll admit it was a rash move putting the armband on him & it was probably a knee-jerk seeing as Aguero's injury news came Friday & didn't give it a proper analysis. It was probably heavily biased on my mentality to hit a higher rank quickly regarding the armband. Sturridge's high goal scoring record per game, pedigree & performance did me in.
Moving on, live & let die 😉
Mane > Silva
Seems like a good move since I downgraded Sanchez to Ozil. What do you think?Good move
even if I have KDB?
Yeah, don't let a double up put you off. Although I do prefer Ramsey over Silva.
No way...? Ramsey is way more injury prone than Silva. Why Ramsey? How'd he look last week
He was excellent, both from a visual and stats perspective. Back in his favoured position now.
Everyone jizzing about Ramsey after one good game in the pivot, reminiscent of 2013. If he was that good why does Wenger play Cazorla ahead of him when fit?
Cazorla is one of Arsenal's most important players and Wenger would be silly to shift him from that central position. Ramsey's versatility is one of the reasons why he's played on the right recently as well as the fact that they've had a few injuries in that position.
Ramsey got his best goals streak playing in the AM position in a different formation to what we've seen since last season. They have Sanchez now who changes the formation with Ozil taking the AM role.
When Ozil eyes gets injured, Ramsey moves into that role and you'll see my point.
That was my move.
get ready to ball out
I am very worried not owning a City player this week. 🙁
you should be
Depends. City has been off form in the PL. Somehow UCL form does not translate.
Do we have any news on Aguero's fitness yet?
pretty sure he is out this week.
If Agüero is confirmed out would Bony (C) be a good punt for this week?
That is exactly what I was thinking about
Yes playing against former club, it's written right?
That didn't even cross my mind, he played decent today.
You have Kane, who's better captain option. At home against not so solid Newcastle defence.
They allowed Liverpool only one shot on goal for the entire game.
liverpool missed a decent striker, don't forget Benteke missed from two yards out, different game if that goal goes in.
No
Does Bony start though? He was on the bench tonight with Sterling up top who did pretty well. Im keeping kun and playing 5 mids.
Already have kane and Lukaku, same as you the only option grabbing me is getting in Bony and swapping back to kun when fit. Does Bony start though...I wouldn't tbh, apart from his impact substitution (which arguably changed the tides in City's favor), he's been very poor in the PL in Agüero's absence.
