We delve into the Gameweek 16 data now in our first members’ article of the week. Amongst this evening’s topics are West Ham’s wide men, Bournemouth’s goal threat from midfield, Tottenham’s toils up top and Watford’s relentless top scorer.
Hello Guys, I have 2FT this GW but dunno who to transfer ( what in my mind is Koralov and Firmino)
Butland - Guzan
Mertesacker - Koralov - Moreno - Nyom - Wollchield
KDB - Coutinho - Ozil - Mahrez - Firmino
Vardy - Ighalo - Lukaku
Need suggestion!!!!!!Guzan > Hennessey
Keep kol lose firminio
How much in the bank?
4.9 MB
Guzan + Firmino --> Myhill + Stanislas
Firmino to cheap or Ramsey (benching headache though)
forgot one thing i have 4.9 M in BANK 2FT
I was thinking about Firmino - >Ramsey but i have ozil in my team already. too many Arsenal Mid??
Butland Gomes
Bellerin Moreno Toby (VvD Simpson)
Coutinho Ozil Mahrez KdB (Lanzini)
Vardy Kane Lukaku
3.4 ITB
2 FT
Don't want to waste an FT and have 3.5 for Kane to Aguero for when he's fir. Also looking at Sanchez
Any ideas?Vvd to WBA defender
Cheers!!
'Downgrade' VVD to ward or wolly
Leaves you with cash ITB to do Kane to Kun and Coutinho to SanchezCheers, Huth
You keeping Lanzini? I would swap for a playing mid.
Just waiting on team news. He's due back this week...cheers for reply
Which defender to go for?
And for whom?
1ft 0.6 itb
Butland
Moreno Kolarov Williams Francis CedricI think Francis to souare , maybe even williams to souare .
WBA or Spurs
Remove Williams for Spurs! WBA or Palace
Williams to Dann
Any ideas on how long hazard is out for?
Forever. Out of my team that is.
Until him and Maureen kiss n make up?
Keeping faith eh? Perhaps he needs to have one o one with you to tell you bad he is this season.
If Leicester somehow manage to drop out of UCL and EL spots .What do you think will they retain mahrez and vardy's services .Vardy could be kept with a big fat check but mahrez he is young .
If they qualify for Europe it will be more interesting if they they Decide MTO cash out on the players. They will qualify for EL if not UCL...but I think they will qualify for UCL
I would think the reverse. The club do have rich owners so they do not need the money hugely.
If they qualify Europe, both will stay. If not, Vardy could be gone in the summer.I think vardy would stay and mahrez will be going
The owners are ambitious in a modest way but, as you say, they are more likely to have to sell Mahrez. He will have the big boys sniffing around. Players like him who score occasional goals and perhaps more importantly, can unlock very tight defences for others to score, will attract a large premium.
Yup, won't be surprised if top clubs make huge bids
4.5 ITB
0FT
Butland
Bellerin, VvD, Dann
Mahrez, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, KDB
Vardy (c), lukaku
Myhill - Barkley, Bennett, Richards
G2G?No Arsenal mids cover? Barkley could make way
Thats for next GW, going to get Ramsey then propably
As much I've seen so far, you can also consider Alexis if he's fit next week
Yeah but I did this with Kun also getting him in when fit but I think this season you need to wait until a player preformce lost too many points with stupid transfers so guess i will start with Ramsey
Quite true. Ramsey looks a differential now, and goal threat.
Or maybe Ozil who's consistent.
As for this week i think you are G2GCheers!
Hows this front 8 going into boxing day
Henderson mahrez sanchez ozil wijnaldum
Kane ighalo Aguero
Is the midfield a bit weak or unreliable??
Thoughts appreciated
CheersLooks good imo. No Lukaku tho?
Is Barkley > Ramsey more important considering I have a crap defence of Kolarov - Skrtel - Naughton - Dawson - Coloccini?
Sort defense and give Barkley another week
let's advise each other til we hit 2m rank Moin!
I agree with Moin, fwiw.
http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/12145/i agree with him too. just havin a laugh at our pathetic seasons.
😆
Not sure how, but I've ended up with a front 8 where my.only 2 benchable players are Tadic and Sterling. Who to bench this week then? Both seem a slight rotation risk and both out of form but I'm not taking a -4
Tadic
Bench Tadic surely?
Not sure it is that straightforward. Feel sterling could easily be dropped v arsenal
Tadic v likely to get his place back at home and could be eager to prove himself after being droppedI would prefer to go with the team with stronger attacking potential so City for sure. But if you reckon there's risk of Sterling being dropped then perhaps Tadic safer pick.
Wouldn't trust me this season 🙂
Time Tadic him.
Ha. No need to do that. He is 8th in the list and I have 3m in bank
Should I do these transfers?
Barkley to Wijnaldum
Coutinho to Ramsey
1 FTBar -> Wijn
Coutinho looked okay against NEW think he will play fine this weekendNo
- Christmas Rotation
In last year's 28th/29th December fixtures, the following players were rotated, having started the previous game on the 26th Dec.
Arsenal - Gibbs, Rosicky, (Giroud was ineligible after a red card on 26th)
Aston Villa - Okore, Agbonlahor
Chelsea - Azpilicueta, Oscar, Willian
Crystal Palace - Campbell
Everton - Howard, Stones, Jagielka, Mirallas, Naismith, Barkley, Lukaku
Leicester - King, Drinkwater
Liverpool - Jones, Toure, Gerrard, Markovic
Man City - Clichy, Sagna, (Yaya Toure injured during game on 26th)
Man Utd -
Newcastle - Taylor, Anita, Armstrong
Southampton - Clyne, Gardos, Bertrand, Ward-Prowse
Stoke City - Walters
Sunderland - Coates, Cattermole, Alvarez, Fletcher
Swansea - Rangel, Ki, Montero
Tottenham - Walker, Rose, Bentaleb, Lamela
West Brom - Pocognoli, Mulumbu, Varela, Berahino
West Ham - Jenkinson, Collins, Nolan, Noble, Valencia
Promoted sides N/A as 5 day break between matches.
Average number of players rotated - 2.94
Most number of players rotated - 7 (Everton)
Least number of players rotated - 0 (Man Utd)
% of total players rotated by position
GK - 3.92% (2/51)
Def - 37.25% (19/51)
Mid - 41.18% (21/51)
Att - 17.65 (9/51)
A decent 5th midfielder and playing defenders look key.your post p*ssed me off when I read (Giroud ineligible after red card on 26th).
He was my captain for that red card ()*@#&$)@(#Haha had the same with Giroud then I'm never getting him back!
Haha same transferred him in that way and put him as captain. I'm pretty sure he ruined Christmas.
on a more serious note, were those players completely rested or still got minutes off bench?
Hmm. Food for thought. Think I'll avoid Gerrard in light of this
Was Aguero injured at the time, or just not rested?
Injured. James Milner stepped in as a stand-in striker.
Stupid question probably!
It's a concern if you've doubled up on Barkley and Lukaku. I'm certainly wary of those back from injury like Baines and Henderson (and could soon be Sanchez and Aguero)
Top stuff, I just want to add this so people can see which teams have the short turnarounds:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14CldK7TlmOWaC1vo0s8-nhTvnj9h07ruaZY_IBgbKWY/pubhtml
Last year only Liverpool vs Swansea was on the 29th with that precious extra days turnaround but it seems they both got rotated anyway.Hope Lukaku gets rested
doubt it.
Another important point to note is that the following teams have all changed their managers since this time last year, leaving their policies open to more uncertainty:
Aston Villa
Crystal Palace
Leicester
Liverpool
Newcastle
Sunderland
Swansea
West Brom
West HamCheers Balders. The only certainty is that there will be added rotation and you have to try and mitigate as best you can during this period. For me that means staying away from the recently injured players, not taking vanity hits on fit players and keeping an eye on Everton in particular (given it is the same manager)
Which transfer?
A) Kane to Lukaku
B) Martin to Simpson or Stoke def
C) Save FT
0.8 in the bank
DDG, McCarty
Bellerin, Sagna, Zouma, Ward, Martin
De Breune, Özil, Mahrez, Deulofeu, Alli
Aguero, Vardy, KaneA
Butland Hennesy
Kol Moreno Cresswell Simpson Richards
KDB Mahrez Bark Ozil Hoola
Lukaku Kane Vardy
6m ITB
1FT
What moves would you make?Maybe buy a def
Which? and for who?
was tempted by Baines
I'd get rid of Hoolahan and do something about that defence, a hit may be in order
Richards > Dann
Dont take a hit for Hoolahan as it will mean benching one of your other attackers which imo wouldnt be worth it, transfer Hoolahan next week.
Should i keep Firmino or not for the next gw?
Blimey. Sell, imho.
Sell imo as he is a rotation risk now
Get shot
No no no! And I'm a Liverpool fan. Failed punt on my behalf
Bench Sterling(ars) or Barkley(LEI)?
Barkley
Any particular reason?
Barkers
Cheers 😀
Any particular reason?Because I think Sterling will score more points!
Sterling gets in the box more.Cheers! 🙂
Bench Sterling, Leicester is far more likely to concede plus I can't see Raheem scoring against a team like Arsenal
Thanks 🙂
Lionel Messi and Neymar are at the centre of a £1billion battle of Manchester, with both City and United interested in the pair. (The Sun)
The who writes for Sun needs a reality checkOh, my Frank Nicklin of long ago ...
A couple of weeks ago I had no Eve attacking players. Decided to go with Barkley and get Kane up front. Wasn't the best of decisions. So now my question is, would you do Kane -> Lukaku? Still?
Yeah, only got Lukaku in for the games just past, hasn't shown any signs of slowing up tbh
True. Uncanny form this from him.
It's like Vardy, with these tougher fixtures coming up you'd expect him to slow down, but it doesn't seem like fixtures mean much to that pair of players this year, among others
Yup. And him scoring is like a pin under the nails. Every. Single. Week.
My relationship with the mrs is starting to crackle under my tantrums...Save the season, save the relationship
Easy math eh? 😀
Well one's far more important than the other 😉
True. Did it. Now watch Kane explode and me going ballistic on the wife and kids... XD
It wouldn't be fpl if he didn't hahaha
Same situation with you mate. I'm planning on Kane > Lukaku too
Long time no see lads, I've already used my FT this week, how does she look?
Butland McCarthy
Ward Kolarov Coleman Darmian Nyom
Barkley Mahrez Ozil Coutinho KDB
Lukaku Vardy IghaloHate that benching headache each week.
At least I don't have to worry about my keepers!! but srsly I don't mind the benching headache too much, it's better than not having enough players to field an 11, plus I have 5.5m itb lol
save, gtg really. you like the coleman prospects? i was thinking of differential and getting baines in
I like Everton's chances now with Baines back and Jags being close to returning, plus he's done well for me when I've needed him to so I'll wait until his returns demand replacement
My front 8 is exactly the same except I have Kane instead of Ighalo.
Who are u benching this week. I'm thinking Barkley.I've actually got De Bruyne on the bench atm but I'll reassess as the games draw closer
That could be an option. U not worried about Barkley sitting deep allowing Cleverly to play higher up?
Not right now, I'll watch this week's game and reconsider, plus we all knew that Barkley gets the majority of his shots from out of the box anyway, playing deeper shouldn't jeopardise those shots too much
I agree it shouldn't. He wasn't involved in many of Evertons attacks against Norwich though.
there are just those kind of games though, can't just react like that, if he doesn't look like doing anything this week then it's a whole 'nother ball game
Looks good
Cathcart Bellerin Sagna Moreno Kelly
KDB Ozil Bolasie Barkley Morrison
Kane Lukaku Vardy
A) Kelly to Dawson
B) Morrison to Mahrez/Coutinho
C) Kane to Ighalo
2FT.
Which 2?
Or all 3 for a hit?No love?
Who. To ship out for kun? Getting rid of any of them seems mad.
A lukaku
B vardy
C ighaloI wouldn't yet.
Worried with the fixtures over xmas period , sunderland ,.... He could explode.
He could. Or he could be rested.
or he could be rested the odd game given Bony's decent form and fitness.
Yep, best might be wait and see, worst comes, i might miss one brace, but still might get one from lukaku, and with kdb and silva should get the assist points 😉
mate you're doing so well, i'd just stick with your current formula and give Kun a week more.
Thanks, you might be right. I might just save my ft this week, in case smalling turns out ok, then i could react to kun situation with 2 fts during xmas period
yup, the trick is not to doubt yourself right now. you stuck to your guns the first Kun wave and benefited. I don't think many would be jumping aboard now given that episode...even if he explodes it won't do much harm nor good since the cheaper alternatives can easily match his score.
C. if you had too
None of the above imho. No need. They´re all firing.
Thanks all, will wait and see for now.
Good morning all. I would like some advice please chaps.
Butland | Myhill
Dawson | Moreno | Bellerin | Toby | Nyom
Coutinho | Mahrez | Ozil | KDB | Watson
Vady | Kane | Lukaku
4.5ITB
I can't see anything obvious so should I:
A) Watson > Ramsey (+benching headache)
B) Save
C) Something elseSave
B save
Save 😀
Thanks all.
If you have FT,
Watson-> Bolasie
or
Kane -> Aguero
???
Start Williams(WHM) or Bellerin(MCI)?
Both unlikely to haf CS. Bellerin more likely to get attacking pts
Tough, I don't think Arsenal will keep a clean sheet but at the same time I have little faith in the swans right now. Flip a coin? I'd probably bet on Williams tho
Cheers fellas
Is Smalling likely to be back for Utd this GW? Any other Man Utd options nailed on?
DDG
Nah, only defender options. I wanna stick with Myhill for the next four.
i cant name any with confidence from Man U except smalling.
Baines an option?
My defence is in tatters - some help appreciated!
DDG
Skrtel - Kolarov* - Naughton* - Coloccini - Dawson
Reckon it's about that time to double up on a popular defence to start closing gap on rivals. But don't know whom to double up on!Naughton > Wolly
Mignolet > Butland for -4?
No, FT wehn possible.
I've been waiting to shift him for a month now.
jeeze all them big hauls you missed
Yep. All because one shouldn't take a hit to remove a keeper.
Guess I should hold for now.well i would take a hit for a keeper but not after you waited so long and missed them hauls and liverpools plum fixtures
Thanks for your comments.
Liverpools plum fix was one of the reasons why I've held so far. They keep conceeding though.
I wouldn't take a hit to do that, who's occupying the other GK slot?
McCarthy
Maybe when you've got a FT handy but I'd prioritise getting a playing keeper in first
Ok, McC > Hennessey when I can.
Am I understand correctly?
If I use Cap*3 on GW 19&20 (28-30 Dec & 1-2 Jan), I will get *3 Point for both GW right??? due to mid week GW.
Cheers!!!GW is GW.
There is no correlation between GW and actual days of the weekNo you don't get points for both GW's. As Poison Apple said, a Game Week is a Game Week. You only points for two matches when those two matches fall under the same GW (Called a Double Game Week DGW) - this happens when teams have to catch up with fixtures lost through bad weather or cup replays - normally start seeing DGWs around February
How long do you give a player before you decide to transfer him out?
What factors do you consider about a player that has lost form?
Do you use underlying stats like touches in the box or do you simply take a look at forthcoming fixtures?I am an instinctual person.
You, sir, are my brother.
from another mother...maybe 🙂
Hazard, out.
Reasons?
Really Jaf? 😆
Chelsea relegation fodders, of course.
Sunderland should give them a nice test. Relegation battle.
oh, and Rambo. Form over fixs.If Hazard had blanked though but played the full 90 would you still sell?
I was planning to save. But Chelsea look God awful and Haz injured.
Cherry on top of the cake covered in Mourinho dung.
It was in reference to my lead question, Acqua.
I am trying to become a Super Mod 😉Ew, please no.
Not you too.Unless you're a chill mod like Evs, not those power hungry ones.
Yeah...but I will of course abuse my new found powers 😛
It depends on the circumstances in which I got him, the other options at that position, how much value I have invested in him, other priorities, and whether I have someone that can cover. For example I have Barkley right now and while he hasn't done much in the past 3 or so GWs, I got him before the bandwagon started, he's given me some decent returns, I have a strong front 8 anyway, I can't see any substantial improvement available, and I needed to get rid of Richards this week.
So you are looking to make equity on a player regardless of form?
Not necessarily that just one consideration, If someone like Sanchez was firing (or if anyone was to that degree) then I wouldnt hesitate to lose Barkley even if I would lose quite a bit of TV. Its more a matter of his form isn't poor enough for me to get rid of him yet in light of these mitigating factors. If I didn't have a strong 5th mid I'd probably get rid
Fair point. So how many games do you give a player before he is deemed "lost form?"
I don't think there's a defined number, it's a continuum based on the factors I listed above. Really there's also a gut instinct aspect as well, if you don't think that player should be in your team then you need to get rid haha. It's like investing, ultimately judge the inherent worth of a company cannot be done just by applying criteria, there's a skill to just knowing when the information is in front of you (I'm not claiming to be good at it myself btw)
Just interested to know. I see some are considering losing Kane and Barclay after 2-3 non-scoring games. I don't believe that's enough time to make a decision on a player about form.
completely agree, although there are options up front which might be better than kane imo
Good Morning all - Thoughts on this lot plz ? Many thanks !
Butland - (McCarthy)
Moreno - Zouma - Wollscheid (Kolarov - Richards)
Ozil - Ramsey - Mahrez - KDB - (Wanyama)~
Lukaku - Vardy - Kane
1FT
A) Save
B) Richards > Ward
C) Richards > ? Thoughts ? (4.5 Itb)
Bench Kolarov ? (6.5M defender on the bench sounds like a shocker)A
Firmino -> Henderson & Kane -> Kun? Or too early for the second one?
Rest of front:
Ozil - Mahrez - KdB - Alli - Firmino*
Vardy - Lukaku - Kane*Aguero next week probably, but Christmas rotation is a worry. I have hazard, so need to decide on Henderson or Ramsey for him this week. henderson more of a rotation risk than Ramsey given the injury situation at arsenal.
