The Community Round Up

Undaunted by a disastrous set of midweek Fantasy returns, our writers and hot topic posters picked themselves up and were once again full of advice on key picks for the Gameweek ahead. Our community scribes believe getting the right differentials in place could prove the perfect tonic, while for our hot topic posters, defensive rotation and a certain Argentine striker are among the medicinal prescriptions on offer. Our Members tables round up focuses on those that could be due a goal or two this weekend, while our community tournaments summary shows that, for our league leaders at least, there was some midweek joy.

The Community Articles

The search for differentials dominates the thinking of our community writers this week, with Rupert the Horse offering up a trio of low-owned players for Gameweek 22 in his latest Only Punts and Horses article.

Elsewhere, The Fantasy Football Frog has been continuing his analysis of our own Spot the Differential articles to see what we can learn, in terms of quick points hits and long term gain, from taking a punt.

Kavali also dropped by to reveal just how badly the Fantasy Football veterans fared in Gameweek 21.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Sergio Aguero’s growing band of owners will be hoping he can make up for a poor Gameweek 21 and deliver a Fantasy points haul this weekend. On this week’s Scoutcast, however, Mark pondered whether owning the Argentine could be a poisoned chalice, with his price tag making his owners reluctant to place the armband on other, perhaps better, candidates. Aguero owners and non-owners alike put forward their thoughts in our follow-up hot topic on the issue.

As our rough with the smooth round up of Gameweek 21 showed there were plenty of Aguero owners already getting worried about investing so heavily in his potential.

Among those who had a rough week was Andy85wsm, who braved the Scoutcast this week to reveal how investment in Aguero at the expense of Olivier Giroud had cost him dearly. Undaunted he was back during the week with some excellent analysis on how rotating Crystal Palace and Leicester defensive assets could help revive the fortunes of the many Fantasy managers like himself, who were stung by a low score in Gameweek 21.

The prospect of double Gameweeks caused by cup congestion, offers further hope to those managers in the doldrums. Nonetheless, Jarvish warns that those expecting a double set of fixtures soon may be left disappointed.

Finally, for those new members that have taken advantage of this month’s half-season discount, our hot topic offered up plenty of handy advice from existing members on getting the best out of its many tools, including the Members tables.

The Members Tables

Wayne Rooney, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Olivier Giroud and Gylfi Sigurdsson all proved the value of my goals imminent table, with the quartet scoring an impressive six times between them during the midweek matches. Here is the latest table going into Gameweek 22.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

James Ollerenshaw has opened up a nine-point lead in Red Lightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league and is still in the top 500 overall.

Meanwhile in Red Lightning’s January to May league, Dan Berkeland and Dan Robertson, who has made no transfers apart from his Gameweek 3 wildcard, are the new joint leaders.

The qualifying stage of the FIFFSA 5-a-side tournament reaches its conclusion this week, with Balders supplying this update on those who are through, knocked out or left biting their nails.

In our FFScout league, Ciaran Treacy is top and has also been in the overall top 20 for the last eight Gameweeks.

One veteran with reason to be cheerful is Andy, who continues to top the FFScout Moderators and Contributors league. Evs once again leads the chasing pack.

The overall leader of our ESPN FFSCOUT League is JJBish01, while kranokfpl tops the league’s Segment 2 leaders.

Athletico Timbo, Bowstring the Carp, Hypnos and Jurgen Flopp all tied in first place in Jarvish’s FA Cup Yes or No predictions competition last weekend.

Elsewhere, In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score was 23, which saw 94 players depart and 741 remain. Meanwhile. Holmes and Kings of Lyon’s 90-37 annihilation of AK and Acquafresca was among the pick of the results in the first set of Balders’ Wimbledon style doubles tournament.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.
