This week we’ve updated our Career Hall of Fame with the final standings from the 2015/16 season. The Hall of Fame is a ranking system, which we apply to everyone who took part in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. Basically, this tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating” accordingly – this is viewable to all via this link or the top menu “HoF” link.

If you’re wondering what the Hall of Fame is all about, you can read below for a quick guide. Alternatively, you can view this movie to listen to Mark and Rate My Team’s Chris Atkinson talk you through it.

Career Hall of Fame Top 10

For the third year running Ville Ronke sits at the summit of the Hall of Fame after yet another successful season. His final rank of 1,450 was achieved with just one hit and makes it eight out of eight campaigns with a finish inside the top 5,000. Across his career he also has one top 100 finish and an astonishing three other top 500 rankings. It was not all plain sailing for Ville Ronke in 2015/16, however, having recorded a lowly Gameweek 1 rank of 1,915,969, though he soon turned it around thanks to a Gameweek 3 wildcard that helped ensure he entered the top 500,000 in Gameweek 6. In Gameweek 28 he breached the top 10,000 mark for the first time and never left this elite group thanks to savvy use of chips during the run-in – this featured his second wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 34 and Triple Captain chip for Gameweek 37.

Marlen Rattiner rises from 15th spot at the end of 2014/15 to take second. His final 2015/16 rank of 1,507 was a fifth top 5,000 finish in an eight-year career that has included three top 1,000 spots. In contrast to Ville, Marlen achieved his stellar final 2015/16 season ranking with a raft of hits – he took 18 across the season, with six occurring in the final five Gameweeks. He was another to use his second wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost the following Gameweek and save his Triple Captain chip for Gameweek 37.

An excellent 2015/16 rank of 129th spot saw Peter Kouwenberg leap from 60th spot at the end of last term to take third place. Across his ten-season career Peter has six top 10,000 finishes and used his second wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips at the same time as Marlen and Ville. He is another who is unafraid to take points hits, opting for a total of 11, including a 12-point hit in Gameweek 9.

Another high flier is Steve Poulsom, who moves from 97th to fourth after clinching 49thspot in 2015/16. His top 50 finish arrives on the back of a stellar 2014/15 campaign, where he ended in 121st position, whilst Steve also has a further two top 10,000 placings under his belt across his seven-year career. During 2015/16 he took 11 points hits and also mirrored the top three’s use of second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy.

David Meechan take fifth spot and moves up 18 places in the Hall of Fame thanks to a 1,864 finish in 2015/16. Across his illustrious nine-year career he has seven top 10,000 placings, including two in the top 1,000. He also mirrors the top four’s use of second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy and, as with Steve and Peter, notched 11 points hits. His high finish at the end of last season comes in spite of a disastrous run-in where he recorded four red arrows in a row to fall from 571th place.

In sixth place is Utkarsh Dalmia, another new entry to the top 10 having finished 2014/15 with a HoF rank of 25. Across Utkarsh’s seven seasons he has never finished outside of the top 10,000 and in 2010/11 his final overall ranking was an impressive 17. Yet again he deployed the same second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy strategy as the top five in a campaign that saw Utkarsh take nine hits.

Rich Morchella takes seventh spot – a rise of 13 places on his HoF rank at the end of the previous campaign. By his standards, a final 2015/16 rank of 4,090 is poor, having already achieved three top 500 finishes in an impressive nine-year career. With a clear pattern forming in chip use, he also mirrors the same second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy strategy as those above him in the Hall of Fame. In total he recorded 19 points hits during 2015/16 including four double hits and one 12-point hit.

A final 2015/16 rank of 1927 ensured Ray Freeman becomes yet another new entry into the Top 10 Hall of Fame placings as he rises to eighth from 30th the previous season. Over his ten-year career he has three top 1,000 finishes. In contrast to the top seven Ray deployed a different chip strategy, using his Triple Captaincy in Gameweek 34, second Wildcard in Gameweek 36 and Bench Boost in Gameweek 37. This was vital to his successful season as he had an overall rank of just 26,587 in Gameweek 33.

In ninth is Chris Greene, another new entry into the top 10 – he climbs from 44th at the end of last summer thanks to an overall rank of 1489 in 2015/16. Chris was another to deploy his second Wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost in Gameweek 34 and Triple Captain chip in Gameweek 37 in a season where he took 11 points hits. Across his ten-year career he has recorded an impressive three top 1,000 finishes.

Matthew Jones, known as Numb to the Fantasy Football Scout community, completes the Hall of Fame top ten after moving up from 19th place last time out. In his seven-year career he has six top 10,000 finishes, including twice breaching the top 500. He joins Ray as only the second manager in our top 10 to deploy a different chip strategy during the run in – Matthew also used his Triple Captain chip in Gameweek 34, followed by a wildcard in Gameweek 36 and bench boost in Gameweek 37. He kept points hits to a minimum during 2015/16 using them just five times.

Elsewhere, Evs takes over from Mark as the top ranked FFScout moderator and contributor. Evs moves up to 21st from 95th, while Mark falls from 21st to 50th. Jonty (that’s me) is the second best ranked member of the FFScout team, rising to 33rd from 55th in this latest career HoF update.

Among the former FPL champions last season’s victor Simon March falls from 39th to 63rd, while Matt Martyniak moves from 16th down to 29th.

With only Ville Ronka retaining Top 10 HoF status, last year’s elite suffered some huge falls in this latest HoF update. Triggerlips slumps from second at the end of the previous season to 26th and last year’s third placed Mustafa Bialk falls to 28th spot.

Hall of Fame FAQ

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2013/14 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues next season, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code will available on the dashboard of the Members Area once the FPL game re-opens for registration.

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings. The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data.

Bit worried about having one too many game time risk in there with Rami,Giacherrini, Alli, Payet, Gotze and Nolito. Debating wether or not to do Gotze to KDB to sure up my mid, shaving 1m elsewhere. What do you think?

A: Stick with Gotze and as I am
B: Ramos > JuanFran to fund Gotze > KDB
C: Dragovic > Ingason and Alaba > Junozovic to fund Gotze > KDB (keeps 4x md5 subs)

10m up against Italy first up is a bit of a worry, I suppose it saves a transfer and 4 points for round 2 though

Yes, as long as the matches are not on the same actual day, so France Friday is a free shot, then Saturday you can only pick one, so you can't chose Bale, then change to Kane for example.

Brilliant if he starts, but @6.5 you'd really want someone totally nailed. It's okay punting on a 4 as you can at least say the extra wedge helped fund xyz, but @6.5 it's a bit different.

Absolutely love him as a player but not nailed so not an option unfortunately in my opnion. Ozil, Gotze, Muller, Gomez is how I expect them to lineup and subsequently rotate a fair bit.

If you are gonna plump for a Belgian mid I'd find the .5 to go KDB. I like it a lot for a Ronaldo team. I think you need to downgrade Ozil.

would you suggest Hazard --> KDB

I'd sooner do Sommer to Kozacik. Not feeling like Denayer is the safest thing ever and would rather avoid if possible. Ozil to a 7.5 still seems great and splash it in defense. 8.5 is too much to spend for a never captaincy option in my opinion. Especially with CR7 sucking up lots of funds.

Downgrade one of the Spanish defenders and spread the wealth. I'd rather punt on Strnic over Guerriero since he plays early and can sub him out. I'd switch Matuidi out.

B by all the miles you could imagine. Nailed over risk all day. Siggy of that trio assuming no CR7 - excellent cap option on day 4 for GW2.

So we always talk about templates... and there are always plenty of RMT's so if you're worried here’s the most selected players in each position by % owned in the game overall.

            Neuer 38% - De Gea 22%
            Ramos 31% - Boateng 31% - Koscielny 23% - Pepe 18% - Hummels 15%
            Pogba 46% - Alli 32% - Özil 26% - Payet 26% - Modrić 22%
            Müller 36% - Griezmann 34% - Ronaldo 29%

Here’s an approximation of the FFS ‘template’... taken from the 1st 31 RMT’s on this article. (Number of teams with player on FFS)/% owned in game overall.

            Rui Patrício (24) 10% - Kozáčik – (18) 1%
            Rami (18) 2% – Juanfran (17) 9% – Dier (11) 10% – Dragović (11) 3% – Hector (11) 7%
            Perišić (22) 5% – Özil (14) 26% – Junuzović (12) 1% – KDB (12) 15% – Payet (11) 26%
            Müller (26) 36% – Giroud (21) 13% – Nolito (13) 4%

            Hopefully this helps!

Gomez not nailed I think gotze may play ahead of him but that's 50/50. Fab not the best 6.5/7.0 choice but It depends who u have. If u have muller I wouldn't have Ozil but that's just my opinion but Ozil isn't a bad pick

I like it. Cahill makes no sense - if you want an England share I'd go Dier, but I think Rami is the clear choice 5.0 option since we get lineups he is not really very risky. Hector to Howedes is a move I have made and would tip it in general for the savings. I think Giacc is too risky - I'd plump for Bonucci if you want a share in their defense. Really can't say I have any problems with any of the choices you made in attack. Maybe Alaba and Mak only midfielders I'd look at tinkering with but it's nitpicking. They are solid picks.

Thanks for the detailed reply mate. For the sake of argument, Hodgson seemed to have a solid defence, hence the Cahill and I feel he is way more nailed than Dier. Rami is facing tough competition from Umtiti and Mangala in defence as I had him before Cahill especially I think the site will crash as it always does pre-deadline. If no changes made to the team, I cannot afford Bonucci over Giacc. Alaba is the reason Austria ticks and on all set-pieces. My main issue is Mak but he's there because of budget constraints. Again, thanks for the time you've taken to reply.

When do you guys think is the best time to WC?

I'm thinking GW3 because of rotations and a slightly different schedule, it will also be the last chance to buy some cheap players to sit on the bench for you in the knockout stages

4 transfers is not enough between round of 16 to quarters - I am hoping to be in good enough shape for GW3 to hold it until then.

Good point. WC on GW5 would have lots of advantages too I'm just worried that some of my picks have really bad matchups in GW3 - not to mention possible rotations.
There will also be some weaker teams (whose players I'm not considering) playing against even weaker teams so it could be a chance to gain some advantage.

Will think about it some more, see if I can make a good enough team for the first three gws instead of just two, thanks for the heads up!

Hamsik and Mak is too much reliance on Slovakia? Already have Perisic and Mak seems way better than other 5.5-6M mids!

I think it is - Slovakia are in an easyish group, but set up fairly defensively. One attacker seems sufficient. Holding Hamsik and finding .5 somewhere to upgrade Mak could do you..

I quite fancy him as a massive differential and gets to play against Ireland first which is nice. Ridiculous captaincy potential against them in my opinion. It is a tough group but Sweden seem like a pretty tidy team to me and he is world class so that helps. I will in all honesty likely will turn him into CR7 for GW3. If not, he's still Ibra and it's fun to have and root for him I think 🙂

Ramos my only Spain player. Morata or Fab would be the only attackers I'd consider. Still think there is some risk with both given their alternatives. They have a ridiculous amount of quality in attack and seem to have been playing 20 different attackers in recent matches. Too much uncertainty for me over how they will set up and who will play where. I expect rotation. I'd rather observe and buy in to whomever emerges after the group stages conclude. There is value there given their prices, but I don't feel confident where yet.
