Dugout Discussion – Tuesday – Group D

Group D now draws to a conclusion in Tuesday’s final pair of fixtures.

Spain go up against Croatia tonight as the defending champions look to extend their 100% record on the back of wins over Czech Republic and Turkey.

Vicente del Bosque’s men still need a point to top the group and avoid slipping to second place, where they’d be pitted against the winners of Group E, which looks likely to be Italy.

Croatia, meanwhile, are still reeling from a late capitulation against Czech Republic which saw them throw away a two-goal advantage with just 15 minutes left on the clock.

Turkey and Czech Republic go head-to-head in the other match. Fatih Terim’s men are one of only three sides yet to find the net in Euro 2016 and with just two shots on target, it’s fair to say they need to improve their shooting to stand any chance of progressing.

Bearing in mind that both sides were ranked in the bottom three for shots conceded inside the box after the first two rounds of fixtures, though, Fantasy managers will be optimistic of goals in the penultimate night of the group stages.

So keep Muller as captain (5x2) or take a risk on Ronaldo (again)?

One of these shots from Ronnie has to go in soon right?

      You'ed think so

I took it off Milic at 5 for Ronny . One of the few players that could get a big score

Portugal would need to really up their game tonight as well. Otherwise they could face a very embarrassing elimination.

Of course that doesn't men they will

    Patricio in for Tatarusanu (3)?

Guerriero for Portugal, possibly injured? In for a mid with 3?

Stick with Coman (3p) or twist to risk Giaccherini ?

    a/ stick

You have to stick with that. With Italy qualified and facing Spain in the next round they are not going to ris injuries to any of the first xi

you should twist with players from yesterday - Muller/Milik/Morata etc. Gia is too big rotation risk. Have you got anyone other left?

    Milik to Kdb for captain?

5 pts doubled currently. Worth a punt I assume.

Worth ditching Kroos (3) for Raphael Guereirro? He is still listed as injured but supposedly back in training...

Wait for lineups. If playing then yes.

You must be doing well to have no players with less than 3 points. Well done!

Stick to Milik (C) (10 points) guys or twist to Ronaldo (C) or KDB (C)?

Leaning toward Ronaldo. He has to score only one goal to beat Milik.

Would appreciate your view on that.

    Thanks, cheers.

An assist would leave you no worse off as well. I am leaning towards twist and I have a player with the same score.

Ronaldo has had a lot of shots so far. Something is going to go in at some point

I have the same dilemma. 6 points if Ronaldo does nothing... but I am going to twist, there is a lot at stake for Portugal and Ronaldo.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it.

I really do think he will score at least one. Very unlucky a few times. With so many shots, something will have to go in.

Twisting to Ronaldo, I will live with 3 points loss if that is the case.

Good luck today everyone. Have a good one!

I'm still going to ride these mysterious price rises and load up on Italy and Spain players because keeping a handful

    1. StoichkovFPL
      • 8 Years

Everybody think that price of Payet and other players who are doing good will go up 1-2M but it wil be funny when it will be 0.1-0.2M 🙂

Is it possible that price rise will be immediately computed after the group stages, thus rendering you the use of your wildcard before the price change?

Even tho using my WC saved this last MD for me i really wish i had it for QF...

How will ppl tackle the first round of knock-out stage when you don't have WC for QF?

Yeah i was really tempted to save it but i swapped out because of rotation risk.
        Giroud,
        Kane,
        Juanfran
        Alli
        Iniesta
        Renato Sanches

But that didnt really answer my question ;p

I have my WC but what I think you need to do is

      1. Remember you get 4 transfers at that stage so plan accordingly
      2. Spread the risk and do not get to many players from 1 side then if they go out it isn't such a blow
      3. Leave some money in the bank if possible. This leaves you much more flexible
      4. Be prepared to have a blank on the bench if necessary. Although remember if they are a blank one week they will be a blank the next week as well.
      5. Plan. Look at the draw and try to buy players who will stay in as long as possible while also having points potential.

        Thanks man!

I think im probably gonna stick with two 4.5 defenders just in case (and keep them even if they are out to save money for full team)

I think the question is wheter to really go for the teams i think will qualify or be safe and diversify over a majority of the teams... Any hit would be disasterous..

Add to this there will not be as many clean sheets in Knockout. Especially when there is extra time.

Do the prices change after every knockout stage? Or is it just a one time thing (after the group stage) ?

    Got bottomed on previous page:

Right chaps. I've got Strnic in my XI and he blanked. I also have Alli+Payet on 1pt.

    A) Sub Giach/Pelle on for Strnic - if so, which one?
    B) Sub Giach for Strnic and Pelle for Alli?
    C) Smash my head on the desk because they're probably both getting rested?

      D. Just Smash your head on the desk

Well, just bring in Pelle for Strinic more likely to come as a sub than Giaccherini being an attacker.

Does finishing 3rd place in their group really suit Portugal perfectly. Sure they will get through but they would get an easier draw if they didn't.

Plus they should be good enough to beat Hungary.

Twist to KDB or to Lukaku?? Can't decide. Want to do Lukaku but he always screws me over when I put trust in him for fpl lol. Maybe KDB is more reliable to not have an inexplicably bad game.
