Dugout Discussion – Poland vs Portugal

The Euro 2016 quarter-finals get up and running this evening as Poland take on Portugal in the Stade Velodrome for a place in the last four.

Portugal may be slight favourites for the 8pm encounter but it’s fair to say they’ve yet to hit their stride.

Indeed, Fernando Santos’ side have failed to win any of their first four matches in regular time – after a trio of Group F draws against Iceland, Austria and Hungary, they defeated Croatia in extra-time thanks to Ricardo Quaresma’s late strike.

Poland have also flattered to deceive and scored just three times in four fixtures. Unbeaten in the group stages thanks to narrow 1-0 wins over Northern Ireland and Ukraine and a goalless encounter with Germany, they required penalties to see off Switzerland when their clash finished 1-1 after extra time.

A delve into the data certainly favours the Portuguese. They’ve registered more or less double the number of efforts on target (23 to 12) as their opponents and have conceded far less shots in the box (20 to 33), suggesting they could be on course to clinch a place against Belgium or Wales in the semi-finals.

How are you guys doing this practically? Is there an easier way to keep track of your post and see who replied?

I generally scroll back MG, I've often found myself conversing with people long after pages/articles have changed, I've met many a good/ thoughtful/considerate poster through this and have made quite a few 'Internet friends' which I never thought would be me!
I must say I've a dislike of posters coming on here literally dropping a question getting a few replies and not even the decency to engage/reply a little with those that have replied. They seem to pose a question and head to the shops, why bother?

I totally agree.. And especially when the same question is repeated 4 times in one page.

I try to drop insightful tips whenever i can 🙂

Are you going to Profile -> posts?

Hi, can you please direct me to the best 6 players to fill 2 defenders, 3 midfielders and a striker. I have 40m to spend. Please no bad players.
          Thanks.

            * I'm leading my mini league by 6,000,000 points and I wonder if I should play it 'safe' or 'punt'?

      £50 on over 0.5 goals, returns £55

      £7.35 on 0-0, returns £55.12

£50 in-play on Belgium and BTTS I think, or maybe 3-1 Belgium.

Have 6 players playing today hoping for a Goalfest or 0-0 would do too.

Henessey, Ramsey, Bale vs Hazard, Kdb, Meunier !

Haha don't mind that if these players are the ones assisting those braces !
But this game has some weird rules for assists ! (Kdb assist victim)

    Nolito

Would be interested if he was around 7.5m MID. Just dunno if he will be heavily involved for City

Aguero, Silva and De Bruyne seem more likely to rack the goals/ assists up imo

Sterling and Nasri also capable of playing there, could mean heavy rotation
