Champions Leicester welcome Southampton to the King Power on the back of a midweek Champions League win over Porto.

The Foxes have only failed to win one of their first three home fixtures – a goalless draw against Arsenal – though face a tough task to break down a stubborn Saints’ rearguard that have racked up five successive clean sheets across all competitions.

Whilst Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez struggle to reprise last season’s form, new boy Islam Slimani has wasted little time in settling into life under Claudio Ranieri. He bagged a brace in his previous league appearance at the King Power and also netted the winner on Tuesday evening.

Charlie Austin was rested for the Saints’ Europa League clash with Hapoel Beer Sheva on Thursday and returns to the starting XI today, having netted five times in his last four across all competitions.
