The ScoutCast – Episode 211 – Beleaguered

It’s quite ironic that, in an episode that focuses on our experience and strategies of mini-league management, my long-term rival on that score goes awol.

Granville is waylaid by “homework” and misses out, but Luke crashes in mid-cast to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we deliver an 80-minute episode, which includes our dubious insights on navigating a team to mini-league glory – mind games and all.

Once again guided by your community questions, we take on the Diego Costa fall-out, the rising stock of Spurs on form and Everton on fixtures, while finding time to wade in on the demise of former darling Sergio Aguero under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sergio Aguero and his representative met Pep Guardiola for late-night talks in Manchester yesterday. The reason is unknown.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4139684/Pep-Guardiola-Sergio-Aguero-meet-late-night-talks.html

Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus is ready to put the heat on struggling Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and David Silva. And he is ready to pile the squeeze on star striker Aguero and playmaker Silva , both of whom are under pressure to keep their places following the arrival of the 19-year-old. Rumours of underlying tensions between Aguero and Guardiola persist, while a contract extension, said to have been agreed nearly a year ago, has mysteriously still not been announced.

A transfer to Real Madrid on the cards perhaps.

He's probably the 2nd best out and out striker in the world in my eyes. Suarez just edges it.

I think Kun is in the Ibra camp regarding Pep.

Would be a huge loss to the league if he went, sadly i think its quite likely, if not now then during the summer. Can't see why he would stay (if Pep is)

He should leave, no point in working with that kind of manager

Unfortunately that's part and parcel of Pep's reign.. everywhere he's been, same issue!
Would be a great lost for PL surely. But at 28yrs, if he's not treated well for all he has done for MCI, I don't blame him for wanting a move.

Shouldn't set piece duties and a great run of fixtures still be a factor to get in Brunt regardless of the Nyom situation?
Thinking about Holebas -> Brunt. Have exactly 5m itb (I own Chambers)

Brunt is still a great option. As you said, he's got great fixtures and on set pieces.

Playing OOP was great but even without it he still offers more than most defenders.

Would you buy baines with his injury or Coleman?

Hard today. He should be fine but his is no spring chicken. He will miss games die to injury. Think Daniels may be a safer bet if using him this weekend. Cheaper and better fixtures for next 2. Issue with bournemouth is how there will cope again without ake.

Coleman may be a safer bet if looking for everton cover.

You could always look to Middlesborough for a cheaper alternative for the time being. Fabio Friend or Southampton Yoshida.

      Just to confuse you more

Baines now not worth the gamble so Coleman if it has to be one of those 2

Hazard, Sanchez, Alli, Phillips (de Roon)
    Giroud, Kane, Ibrahimovic

Would you consider doing Heaton to Foster?

I know Heaton has been amazing but his fixtures are getting tougher and West Brom have great fixtures.

If you don't fancy that then I would hold, your team is good for this week.

Yeah I think I'll hold and save the FT. I think I'll stick with Heaton now until the end of the season and bank on burnleys home form.

Seen people piping up about Aguero being dropped. Really?

Sergio hasn't been the problem, the players like Raheem around him have.

Pep has already said he will play Jesus in support of Aguero.

If you want rid of Aguero, fair enough. But don't use Gabriel Jesus as the reason.

No player has created as many chances from open play in the big five European Leagues this season as Alexis Sanchez (55).

Hoping for big things from Alexis(C) this weekend.

    With my defence being
Alonso, Baines (doubt), Evans (doubt), Pieters and Amat
Should i save the transfer and hope 1 of baines or evans plays
or bring in chambers for evans?

It's not unless you see Chambers as a long term target that will get you back more points than Evans in the long run which I don't think he will

    So WestBrom signed Livermore.

This guy is a DM, right? Was playing in defense for Hull?
How will this impact the highly owned WBA assets?

Like Phillips, Brunt, McAuley, Chadli, etc. ?

Not for a hit and a slight doubt over baines starting.

You have 4 defenders ready to go.

If anyone Gibson is next oit. You already have Middlesbrough cover with chambers

If you stick with those 2 this week you should be rewarded next time out away to Sunderland.

If you already have kane then your decision to oust one of the above or Kane is justified.

I have alli on my team and I may bench him this weekend only.
