Dugout Discussion – Leicester vs Liverpool

Gameweek 26 concludes at the home of the champions for a match-up which became a very different proposition only late last week with news of Claudio Ranieri’s departure.

The Foxes now hand the reins to caretaker manager Craig Shakespeare in a bid to halt a dismal run that has seen them lose all of their last five, with not a single goal scored in the six.

On paper, this seems a formality for Liverpool, then, although Jurgen Klopp’s men will surely be anticipating a reaction both from the team and the vociferous Foxes faithful tonight.

Nonetheless, the Reds arrive in buoyant mood. They come fresh from a fine 2-0 victory over Spurs back in Gameweek 25, a match that saw Sadio Mane emerge as a two-goal hero and a Fantasy hot property ever since.

Mane has been involved in 17 goals (scoring 11, assisting 6) – more than any other Liverpool player and is backed by more than 366,000 new owners, with over 113,000 FPL managers handing the Senegalese the captaincy.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    The ' gamble' on Kun

To not bring in Aguero if City have DGW and has lack of minutes tonight seems a no brainer as a rule even for a -4

It will depend on who you take out though as to whether its going to benefit by enough

Ibra seems too risky to swap and not big enough upside

But Lukaku against spurs away V Aguero V Sunderland and the Stoke

    No Tfr
    Lukaku no goal 2 points
1 goal and no bonus up to 3 6 pts to 9pts

Against Aguero 2 games and conservative estimate of 2 goals and 4 bonus points with the -4 still gives 12 points
each goal the after increases the gap further by 4 points
A lukaku or other player blanking only makes this more beneficial

Seems a risk not to bring him in , in my opinion.

Bring back Lukaku for GW 28

A lot will depend on the state of the team for GW28 etc and other issues of course

You are presuming that Aguero will play in both games -- on the Sunday and Wednesday.
Pep may rest him, or fall out with him for not tracking back.

I think as a collective on this site we worry about players being rested way too much. Professional footballer who hasn't actually played that much football this season. We should presume he'll play, I worry about injuries but its the same with any DGW player.

Looking at his minutes he has not been rested, other poster pointed this out

when he came back Jesus kept his place otherwise he has played

What if he gets nothing? Then it would feel like dumb to do that move 😮

Then another hit to bring Luka back plus using that cash to get a decent player...

-4pts is fine to get him, anything more is risky and it might backfire

That's a small risk too take

On the balance of probabilities he is more likely to score than not

If he gets 2 or more even 4 goals in 2 games not crazy then is a big win

You need to add the alternative captain to the equation as Kun gets double points.
I.E. if you have Ibra who scores and pick up 9, and kun gets 11, you gain the difference between Lukaku and kun, + the two extra over your current captain times two.
In total you get +13 points for the Luka - Kun swap, well worth even a -8.

If your alternative captain blanks (two points) and Kun gets the same 11. You again get the difference between Lukaku and Kun, but you also get an extra 9 points times for the armband, hence netting you a total of 18 points for that minus 8.

Either way you're dependent on Aguero beating both the player you transfer out, and your alternative captain, for it to be worth it.
If Ibra nets a hat trick (17 points) and you captained Kun for his 11 point haul. You're still losing out with a minus 8 even if Lukaku blank.

That's why I would not tfr out Ibra as I said so in agreement there:)

The question of Captain applies any week when we get it wrong but yes if I was taking out Ibra would be a factor

Ok Paola, I like your analysis: let me give you a trickier one that I posted last night:
            Defoe to Ibra
Then Alli to Sterling to get $ for
            Kane to Kun
            for negative 8???

Here is a copy of the post to see the whole team:
              Jaku Heaton
              Coleman Alonso Baines Daniels Mcauley
Alli Mane Siggy Philips T Carroll
              Kane Kaku Defoe. 4.4 itb
              Defoe will fall tonite:
So would you do Defoe to Ibra tonite; and then if City beats Hud:
Alli to Sterling for DGW to free up enough to do Kane to Kun... all for -8 this week???

Which of these are a better option?
    Current team:
    Foster
    Alonso - Williams - McAuley - Walker
    Hazard - Eriksen - Sanchez
    Kane - Lukaku - Gray

    Pickford - Gibson - Davies - Hojbjerg

    A) GW27: Hazard / Kane > Sterling / Aguero (C)
    GW28: Aguero > Kane
    GW29: Gray > Gabbiadini
    B) GW27: Hazard / Sanchez / Gray > Sterling / Aguero(C) / Pedro (can't afford Sane)
    GW29: Pedro / Aguero > Sanchez / Gabbiadini

    Which plan is better?

    A. Kane+Alli ---> Sterling+Aguero -4 (Sterling to Snodgrass before 28)
    B. Lukaku+Alli ---> Snodgrass/Lanzini+Aguero -4 (Aguero to Lukaku before 28)

Anyone with Hazard, don't get rid. West Ham don't have a RB or even an Antonio.

Should I expect anything from Costa? (other than YC/RC) 😛

Looks like I will need to find replacements for Chambers, Maguire and Phillips.

    Any suggestions?

All three are just doubts at this point. Wait until more news.
you don't want to brun a transfer on a fit player during those blanking times

Which one for Sterling, will also have Aguero.

If A, I will only have Alonso from Chelsea
If B, I will not own any Spurs players.

    A) Hazard
    B) Eriksen

Looking to wildcard for GW 29
