As one of the most popular and consistent defenders in Fantasy Premier League, Seamus Coleman’s season-ending injury has sent many managers scouring the market in search of a replacement.

More than 153,000 have parted company over the international break, with Antonio Valencia, Leighton Baines and Kyle Walker currently the three most popular alternatives for the Irishman’s former owners.

With double Gameweek drama set to get underway in Gameweek 34, though, many are already starting to piece together their Wildcard plans for the run-in.

For now, then, a short-term replacement for Coleman, taking care of the next four rounds of fixtures, may well be enough for most before we start to focus further on the doubles.

          He's played 90mins the last 5 games give or take (might be 6) for 90 mins and kept 1 or 2 CS (can't be bothered checking I'm knackered, sorry lad). No goals or assists or BPS but seems to be a guaranteed starter, for the time being, for 4m.

        Yeah the point is i need a good bench as well as a starting 11. I need to bring a certain player before price changes (such as Pedro). Need to use my free transfer, need to consider future fixtures, need to get rid of long term injured players (Antonio).
