Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Wednesday

After the first four fixtures of Gameweek 31 treated us to just seven goals last night, hopes are a little higher for the remaining six matches.

Many Fantasy managers will be keeping a keen eye on the Emirates as Alexis Sanchez looks to punish West Ham once again.

The Chilean is the third most-captained player this time around, having served up 23 points against the Hammers back in Gameweek 14.

Dele Alli – the most popular midfielder in FPL – and Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen also have the opportunity to deliver a big profit as they travel to a Swansea City outfit that boasts the worst home defensive record in the top-flight.

Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough are also in action this evening, affording us an early scouting opportunity as both gear up for a double Gameweek 34.

Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha roll up to St Mary’s looking to build on their goal and assist apiece away to Chelsea, with Sam Allardyce’s men seeking a fifth straight victory.

‘Boro face a tough task away to Hull, though. The Tigers are a tough nut to crack at home under Marco Silva, with six wins and a draw in seven in front of their own supporters across all competitions. Notably, the Teessiders appear to have opted for a front two for tonight’s clash.

Chelsea and Man City square up at the Bridge in one of two 8pm encounters.

Diego Costa is the second most-captained player for the Gameweek – over 10% are backing the Spain international despite a run of two goals in seven. Meanwhile, for the visitors, Sergio Aguero has persuaded 8% to take an armband punt on the back of three strikes in four.

Liverpool seek to gain revenge on their 4-3 capitulation at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season as Bournemouth make their way to Anfield. With Sadio Mane sidelined, Philippe Coutinho – the top transfer target for Gameweek 31 – and Roberto Firmino carry the main threat to a defence that’s been breached 31 times already on their travels.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Long overdue, but I should get Alli in, right?

My ML leader (15 points ahead) owns him so that's why I opted for Eriksen, but with these fixtures a double-up of Spurs seems like the way to go..

Some advice if you don't mind - 2 FT's. Have a 50+ lead in ML so not adverse to a hit or two for fun but also 53k and want to rise.

    Pickford - Jaku
    Alonso - Evans - Bertrand - Robertson - Fernandez
    Morrison - Sanchez - Sig - Alli - Sane
    Origi - Aguero - Lukaku

Jaku & Bertrand - De Gea & Davies
Alonso, Bertrand, Sig & Origi - Holgate, Davies, Zaha & Ibra

As a Spurs fan I actually feel sorry for West Ham fans, Lady Brady and the 2 clowns have sold the clubs soul and the form is suffering as a result in that running track, I think they will be okay this season on the fact that other teams won't pick up enough points but the CL in 4 years promise looks laughable now.

Fully expecting Spurs to have staduim issues next year at Wembley but at least it's only for a year!

I have more or less exactly the same team and deliberating on the same transfers.

Couple of things to consider are whether or not Vardy will be rested for CL game and what is the situation with big Andy Carroll.

If I knew Vardy was nailed on to start and big Andy was fit I am hedging towards A) Keep

The other thing is if you bring in Kun or Ibra then you may be inclined to skipper them over Alli - at least by keeping you take that decision away.

    Team for the weekend:

    Valdes
    Alonso, Valencia, Walker
    Sanchez, Alli, Eriksen, Zaha
    Lukaku, Ibra, Origi

Pickford, Gibson, De Roon, Yoshida.... 1FT 0.7itb

  18. The case for captaining Alli
    jmcclory123

    Captaincy picks:

In Alli's last 5 home games he's scored 3 goals and made 2 assists averaging 7.2 points per game.

In his last 5 games he's scored 4 goals and made 3 assists averaging 9 points per game.

A very good captaincy candidate for anybody chasing.

Comparing the most popular captain choice Aguero - he has scored 4 goals in his last 5 and made no assists averaging 6 points per game.

Zlatan has scored 2 goals and made 1 assist in his last 5 with an average of 3.8 points per game.

Leicester travel to Spain next midweek to play what would be their 4th game in 11 days. Arguably the biggest game in their club's history.

With this is mind it is feasible that Shakespeare fields a significantly weakened team to face Everton.

On that note Lukaku and his home form, in particular against weaker sides, has to be the one of the best captain options.

I have the dough... But triple up with Alli, Walker and Eriksen? And anyways when Kane is back I've to waste an extra transfer to get him back?

I was going to do Heaton to Valdes this week, but shipping four goals to Hull makes me want to wait another week.

Anyone else in the same situation?

    A) Vardy + Siggy ---> Aguero + De Roon

    B) Play Siggy bench Vardy

      Look good

If anything I would get rid of Brunt

Yep. Both Phillips and Brunt is gone over next 2 GW with Zaha and a Boro DF, I guess.

Maybe play King ahead of Phillips?

I know the fixture is hard, but if there is a penalty, King is on, nd both King and Bournemouth are looking good offensively these days

Chelsea conceded the last 8 games as well

    Heaton/Foster

Alonso - Walker - Valencia (Pieters, Evans)

Sané - Alli - Sanchez - King (de Roon)

    Lukaku - Origi - Ibra

    1.8 ITB

Any suggestions? (Not selling Sanchez or getting Kun)

    What to do?

    Valdes Hennessey
    Cahill Baines McAuley Gibson Mawson
    Sanchez Alli Eriksen Snodgrass T.Carroll
    Costa Lukaku Deeney

I can't do Zaha and Ibra in for Snodgrass and Costa.

Klopp said after the game 'he feels better now' so I assume he is ok.
