Knocks, Niggles and Mayhem Draft Game

I’m looking to expand my Fantrax Knocks & Niggles draft league from 60 to 100 and am opening up entry to 40 teams to join the newly created fourth ‘Mayhem’ division.

The draft will be six rounds, teams will play five players with one player on the bench each week and there are no formation rules or substitutes.

The draft for the Mayhem division will take place December 2nd at 3pm (UK time) during match play. It is the best time possible for the global membership that Knocks & Niggles typically attracts, from New Zealand to the West Coast of North America.

The Knocks & Niggles Draft League is now in it’s fifth season. The top three divisions of Knocks & Niggles are 20 team divisions with promotion and relegation of a minimum of three teams each season.

A minimum of three teams will be promoted from Mayhem division to Knocks & Niggles’ third division, but all managers from upper divisions that don’t return the following season will result in additional promotions (in 2017/18, there would have been eight teams promoted to division 3 from Mayhem division if it had already existed).

For a community chat platform, all members are required to join and maintain membership in the division WhatsApp chat group. The group chat fosters a sense of community integral to our league’s longevity.

A recorded video draw of the draft order will be posted on WhatsApp the weekend of November 25 or sooner.

Mayhem division will have a quick live draft with a 45 second clock for each pick. Upper divisions do not function this way. (The upper 3 divisions of Knocks & Niggles do a slow draft that takes five to ten days with nine hours allowed per pick during the 2nd international break and has formation rules elucidated in our fourteen page rule book on Google Docs. There is also a full participant history of all managers that have completed at least one season stored on Google docs.

Scoring

There are some important scoring differences in Knocks & Niggles:
– 1 point for starts, no points for 60 minutes;
– assists are only awarded for genuine assists (the player intentionally passed the ball to the goal scorer) and fantasy assists are not given (rebounds, accidents, winning PKs and FKs, etc);
– goals against the defense and GK are -0.5 per goal;
– saves for GKs are .333 points per save;
– clean sheets are only awarded to defenders if their team keeps a clean sheet for the entirety of the match and they play 60 minutes; just because they go off the pitch before the other team scores does not lock in clean sheet points;
