The Semi-Finals of the Paddy Power Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII were finally completed last night after Chelsea and Southampton’s 2-2 draw at the Bridge. We find a familiar name in the final, with site regular Wild Rover clinching his place thanks to a 94-75 win over Mr KK…
Now up to 146th in the overall Fantasy Premier League (FPL) standings, Wild Rover’s decision to wield his winter wildcard for double Gameweek 22 paid off handsomely, with Demba Ba, Rickie Lambert, Juan Mata, Luke Shaw and David Luiz all racking up the returns. He loaded up on three double Gameweek 23 players last week (Joe Cole, Guy Demel and Bacary Sagna) and has already made a transfer prior to Saturday’s deadline.
Nevertheless, Wild Rover remains the underdog for the final – a clear sign of the level of competition in this year’s Scout Cup. Standing in his way of the silverware is MileHigh, who has now moved up to 18th in the world and arrives in the final courtesy of a 90-69 win over Ange1Range1. MileHigh also had five players for last week’s double, with Ba, Mata, Shaw and Luiz joined by Jason Puncheon. He still has his wildcard intact but already has four players (Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs, Mark Noble and Guy Demel) in his squad for the upcoming double, with a free transfer still to play.
With both sides looking well-placed to take advantage of Arsenal and West Ham’s respective pair of fixtures, we’re set for quite a battle all the way through to Wednesday evening’s fixture at the Emirates.
On behalf of Fantasy Football Scout, good luck to you both.
Meanwhile, Mr.KK and ange1range1 are left to settle matters in the third place play-off.

So, is Suarez-RvP-Aguero the ideal forward line?
