Tottenham have reportedly had a £9 million bid for Espanyol striker Luis Garcia agreed and will now discuss personal terms with the Spaniard [source].

News of the deal comes on the same day that Rafa admitted his interest in Robbie Keane having apparently gone off the idea of attempting to bring David Villa to Anfield [source].

Like Keane, Garcia is most comfortable playing off a principal striker and can also be deployed out wide. Should the Garcia move be completed as expected, Keane would seem odds on to move on given the similarities. However, the futures of both Berbatov and Bent at White Hart Lane are also in doubt.

This latest deal looks like a possible catalyst then, sparking some tasty transfers that may well present us fantasy managers with some new and interesting options up front.

While he’d be an excellent signing for Rafa, Keane at Liverpool doesn’t look that tempting. While his output could benefit from the link with Torres, he’d surely be subject to heavy rotation. For me, Darren Bent is someone I’m watching closely. He could suddenly become a very decent mid-price purchase could he get a move away from Spurs as expected. Sunderland are currently showing the most interest with Kenwyne Jones thought to be sidelined until New Year.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
