Arteta limps off as Everton earn a draw at the City Ground. Heskey and Scharner notch for Wigan as they are held by a last minute Forssell spot-kick, while Stoke earn a draw against an team full of internationals – Bahrain.
Here’s the notes and lineups from tonight’s pre-season games.
Nottingham Forest 1 Everton 1
Everton earned a draw at the City Ground thanks to a stunning second-half equaliser from 16-year-old Jose Baxter. A Valente own goal had given Championship Forest the lead before Baxter curled a shot past Forest’s keeper to level things up just minutes later.
Moyes was once again without the likes of Hibbert, Osman, Cahill and Vaughan through injury but Baines made a return to the bench to appear on 67 minutes and he was joined by Yakubu and Pienaar who made their first pre-season appearances tonight. Yobo gained permission for a further break due to family commitments.
Arteta started the game but picked up a knock after 30 minutes and was subbed clutching his calf. Earlier Van der Meyde had also picked up an injury as was replaced on 16 minutes.
Moyes takes his men to the US next to play two games, the first of which is against Chicago Fire.

Hannover 2 Wigan 2
Wigan completed their pre-season tour of Austria by picking up a draw against Hannover 96 with the German side rescuing the game with a final minute penalty from Mikael Forssell.
Heskey got Wigan off to a flyer with 17 minutes gone, flicking home after controlling a Lewis Montrose pass. That was wiped out just two minutes later but Scharner restored the lead for the Premiership side late on, heading home from an 83rd minute corner. Sadly for Scharner, he turned villain just minutes later by conceding the penalty that handed Forssell his chance.
Kapo impressed having been handed a start out on the left of midfield, while Camara got another pre-season opportunity up front with Heskey.
Wigan now return home to face Barnsley at Oakwell on Tuesday night.

Bahrain 1 Stoke City 2
Stoke City brought their pre-season in Austria to an end with a victory over the Bahrain national team. Goals from Cresswell and Pericard in each half were enough to see off the World Cup qualifying hopefuls.
Stoke boss Pulis was without Kitson, Matteo, Shawcross, Sidibe and Griffin who were all carrying minor knocks. As a result he could only name three substitutes – pretty desperate situation for a side on the verge of a Premiership campaign.
Lawrence caught the eye throughout, striking the bar from 30-yards and providing a string of crosses and dead-ball deliveries. Indeed, it was a corner from Lawrence that provided the ball for Pericard to head home the winner in the 75th minute.
Stoke take on Notts County next, on Tuesday evening.
Stoke vs Bahrain:
Simonsen, Wilkinson, Cort, Buxton, Dickinson; Lawrence, Delap, Pulis, Diao (Whelan 46), Parkin (Pugh 46), Cresswell (Pericard 46)
