Man City have confirmed that Vedran Corluka will be staying at Eastland’s after opting to turn down a move to Spurs.
Despite strong rumours and reports that Corluka would be travelling to agree terms early next week, according to the statement on City’s website, Corluka “decided to stay with City after a heart-to-heart with manager Mark Hughes.”
Corluka returned 10 clean sheets in 33 starts for fantasy managers last season. Following this news, you can fully expect the Croatian to be a regular starter in Hughes’s side at right-back which is bad news for Nedum Onuoha who will have been hoping for more starts.
Spurs boss Ramos meanwhile, will have to turn his attentions elsewhere. He fielded Zokora at right back against Lazio earlier today and does of course have Hutton who can fill the right-back berth. Corluka however, was seen as a defender who could provide cover across the back four.
