Arsene Wenger will make changes to his lineup for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Porto, following what he describes as a “sickening” defeat to Hull on Sunday.

While most fantasy managers won’t be worrying too much about Champions League lineups, Tuesday’s team could have repercussions for the side that takes the field at Sunderland this weekend.

What changes does Wenger have it mind then? Big ones by the sound of it, quite literally.

Wenger has identified a general lack of size in his team and has singled this out as a reason for his side’s shortcomings (sorry) against Hull…

“I believe that we have more a size problem in our defending than a quality problem. It’s not just the centre-backs who defend – as a team we are a bit short,” claimed Wenger.

“There will be changes to the team,” he threatened.

To me, that clearly puts Denilson’s role in central midfield at risk for tomorrow night, with Song, if fit, an oblivious replacement who would add some height and muscle. Walcott would also appear to be threatened by this new “size” selection policy. Bendtner springs to mind as an option up front, although it’s hard to imagine that Van Persie will be rested for a Champions League game. I am however, predicting we’ll see Bendtner at Sunderland next week.

Let’s just see what Wenger gets up to tomorrow then. One thing is for sure, owners of Arsenal players will need to be on their toes this week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
