Villa are closing in on the signing of Emile Heskey having reportedly come in with a £4 million bid.
Wigan are set to reluctantly let Heskey go but are due to finalise the transfer of Colombian striker Hugo Rodallega – a ready-made replacement for the big England striker. Villa meanwhile are lacking firepower and a partner for Agbonlahor with Carew still sidelined with a back injury. With Ashley Young now suspended for the next three matches, O’Neill has the extra incentive to bring in a player he knows well from his Leicester City days….
In fantasy terms Heskey’s appeal will likely increase in the short-term as a result of a move, although it’s questionable whether his output will undergo an improvement. Long-term, presumably Heskey will be rotated with Carew, reducing the appeal and output of both players. Heskey’s arrival in the Villa attack could prompt increased returns from Agbonlahor who has suffered a dip in fantasy form of late.
