Reports are suggesting that Wigan are about to spend some of the Palacios fee on Reading’s Stephen Hunt. It’s thought that a £5 million bid has been made – activating a release clause in Hunt’s contract. There is no confirmation of the move from either club at this stage, if confirmed however, this will prove a significant move for many fantasy managers…

Hunt has notched 6 goals in 28 league starts in the Championship this season and would be a decent enough mid-price midfield option on his return to the Premier League. More importantly however, Hunt’s arrival would surely jeopardise the starting role of Ryan Taylor.

Taylor is currently a popular fantasy signing and has been providing the clean sheets, assists and goals from a left midfield role – even though he is classed as a defender across the fantasy games. Hunt would be line for starts in his position. The end result – Taylor’s days as a budget, misclassified fantasy player, would look numbered.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
